Exclusive: Magenta Light Studios, the company founded by Yellowstone and Landman executive producer Bob Yari, has struck a first-look deal with producer Yasmine Golchan and has set its first project.

Magenta Light and Golchan are developing a series adaptation of Susan McCauley’s Ghost Hunters novels. The books are a series of paranormal mysteries following teen psychic Alex and his investigator friends. There are four books in the series: Ghost Hunters: Bones in the Wall, Ghost Hunters: Pirates’ Curse, Ghost Hunters: Spirit Fire and Ghost Hunters: Swamp Witch.

Golchan previously worked with Yari, who has produced movies including Crash and The Illusionist, on The Painted Veil, the 2006 feature starring Edward Norton and Naomi Watts. She also is the author of the recent children’s book The Adventures of Yasmine in Hollywood.

Exclusive: Screenwriter J S Mayank has been tapped by producers Kate Cohen, Alexander Vesely and Tony Robbins to join Oscar nominee and Bafta winner Lesley Paterson (All Quiet on the Western Front) in writing the feature adaptation of Viktor Frankl‘s classic treatise, Man’s Search for Meaning.

Paterson had been writing the script with her husband and writing partner Simon Marshall, as was reported in Deadline a year ago. At the time, Marshall had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Marshall died last June.

After taking some time to regroup and grieve, the filmmaking team undertook a search for someone to team up with Paterson.

“Finding a writing partner who could understand and support me on this journey while at the same time servicing this masterpiece felt like an impossible ask,” says Paterson. “J S has stepped into this role seamlessly and I’m so honored and relieved to have teamed up with him.

Teal’s death was confirmed by a representative for the actor, with the cause of death revealed as cancer. Emilia Torello, Teal’s partner, shared with TMZ that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer in April.
