Pup-o, ma3! (Ouale, Franceza si Ardelenii)

Pup-o Ma 3 is a Romanian comedy, released in February 2023, and shortly after on Netlfix, on April 1st, probably 'cause nobody wanted to watch this movie in theaters.

I don't know about you, but the second movie sucked big time. Gave up on it after 30 minutes. And I wasn't the only one who thought that. So I was surprised to see that they're making a Third movie. What was even the point of it? Even after it came out, I ignored it 'cause i expected the worst from this one.

Anyways I've decided to watch it. And.... my opinion on it is pretty mixed. I'm going to divided this review in two parts, and later end both of them with a fancy conclusion 1. The beginning of the film seemed pretty promising. The movie had like two characters that actually had stuff to do and not just stay in the background, the conflicts were pretty entertaining and overall it felt like they tried to do something different. The acting was decent and the visuals were beautiful. Nice locations, cinematography and overall directing. The movie was pretty slow paced, and each scene did it's job but also showed the characters as likeable and entertaining.

2 .But then we get to the rest of the movie. It also introduces a mistery, one that doesn't really matter until later. The movie doesn't really do anything with it's conflict until the last 30 minutes, desperately trying to wrap an overall driy plot. And the mistery is as surface level as it can get. What you see at the beginning of the movie is pretty much the whole mistery. Everything is so slow until the last 30 minutes where they introduce characters and add conflicts only too solve them 15 minutes later. And the overall reveal is so lame, it was a bad joke and nothing interesting. The movie doesn't do anything to make you care about anything. It wanted to do something different but they barely tried/

It's a shame that they had the pieces for something great but they dropped everything on the floor like some unsteady building during an earthquake. Overall I'm still looking forward towards Alin Panc's or Sandu Pop's upcoming projects. But this movie left me pretty disoriented and overall dissapointed. But what should I've expected from Pup-o Ma 3? 3?

Anyways I can't wait for Pup-o Ma 4 5 and 6 and the other two spin offs coming sometime in 2420.
