Chennai, April 14: Actor Vijay-starrer Tamil actioner "Kaththi" will hit the screens this Diwali, said its co-producer Karunamurthy, who has collaborated with Subhaskaran to produce the film.

"We have decided to release the film on Diwali. There will be no change in the release date. We have completed about half the film," Karunamurthy told Ians.

A.R. Murugadoss is directing the film and this is his second movie with Vijay after Tamil blockbuster "Thuppakki", which also released on Diwali in 2012.

There's no sentiment attached to the film's release date, says Karunamurthy.

The Fantasia Film Festival is taking place from July 18th to August 6th in Montreal and will feature over 100 films from around the world. The initial lineup has just been announced and includes The World’s End, The Conjuring, and a number of horror films making their world premiere:

Chennai, March 14: A die-hard fan of Akshay Kumar, Tamil actor Dhileepan flew to Mumbai Thursday to meet the Bollywood star ahead of the release of his debut film, crime-thriller "Vathikuchi".

"Dhileepan is a big fan of Akshay Kumar, especially his stunts. He flew to Mumbai today (Thursday) to meet Akshay and even showed him a few clips and trailer of his film 'Vathikuchi'," Dhileepan's manager told Ians.

Akshay is currently busy filming Hindi remake of "Thuppakki", which is being directed by Dhileepan's brother, well-known filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss.

Chennai, Nov 29: Bollywood actor Vidyut Jamwal, who is basking in the success of his recent Tamil hit "Thuppakki", will walk the ramp at the ongoing India Resort Fashion Week (Irfw) for a leading bed and bath brand.

"Vidyut will walk wearing a Wimbledon towel manufactured by Welspun on the last day of the event. The owners of Spaces Home & Beyond by Welspun will also grace the ramp along with the 32−year−old actor," a statement released by the company said.

"The film collected Rs.65.32 crore worldwide in the first week. In Tamil Nadu, 'Thuppakki' raked in Rs.40 crore and above in the first six days and it continues to run to packed houses. It is also doing good business in neighbouring states such as Kerala and Andhra Pradesh," trade analyst Trinath told Ians.

"The film collected approximately Rs.10.01 crore from Tamil Nadu in the first three days. This is one of the best openings for a Tamil film released this year. "Thuppakki" is doing extraordinary business in other parts of the country too," Trinath, trade analyst told Ians.
