What a touching film!

I am a big fan of Franco-Canadian films - and this one was no exception. Intelligent, realistic, touching. Many films that come out in cinemas depict characters that are phoney, in artificial situations part of contrived, awkward, hard to believe plots. Katherine Jerkovic's characters are alive, they live challenging but "normal" lives. They cope with their challenges by means of their humanity, their frailties, their resilience, their empathy - not some sort of super-powers, or some Deus-ex-Machina turn of events. They are not super-generous, nor super-evil; no good guys - bad guys. They are living, breathing, people.

I strongly recommend this warm film, a refreshing break from super-mensch, super-rich, super-gorgeous 10 foot tall and bullet proof cartoonish characters that have hogged our silver screens.

We need more films like this one, showing real people in real situations. Real life is beautiful and complex, and way more "heroic" than Jason Bourne's or Batman's.
