A New York attorney took legal action against Ben Affleck and Matt Damon back in 2023, claiming they stalked and harassed her and even bugged her home. The lawsuit, filed in the New York Supreme Court under the Adult Survivors Act, also accused Jennifer Lopez, Casey Affleck, Kevin Smith, Ryan Seacrest, and Harvey Weinstein of involvement.

According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the attorney alleged that Affleck and Damon hacked her devices and used details from her life in Saturday Night Live skits and Weinstein-produced films. She claimed their actions left her fearing she would be kidnapped or worse. The case also targeted major studios, including Disney, Warner Bros, and Paramount, for allegedly enabling the harassment.

Beyoncé absolutely dominated the list of 67th Annual Grammy Awards nominees, earning 11 nominations including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Country Album. Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone each scored seven nominations, with Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter picking up six.

“Today we celebrate the amazing creative achievements of our music community,” stated Harvey Mason jr., CEO of the Recording Academy. “It was an incredible year in music and these nominations reflect the work of a voting body that is more representative of the music community than ever before. The Grammy became music’s most coveted award precisely because the recognition comes from one’s peers, and I’m so grateful for the Academy’s 13,000 voting members who take the time to evaluate all the amazing music, cast their votes and honor their peers.

Nominees for the 2025 Grammy Awards have been revealed, with Beyoncé, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Charli Xcx, Chappelle Roan, Taylor Swift, and Sabrina Carpenter leading the way.

Beyoncé leads all artists with 11 total nomination, including Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, and Song and Record of the Year for “Texas ‘Hold Em.” Additionally, Beyoncé received nominations in all four country music categories, after being shut out of the CMAs. With her 11 nominations at the 2025 Grammys, Beyoncé now has 99 career nominations, breaking her tie with her husband Jay-Z for the most in Grammy history. She is already the most decorated artist in Grammy history with 32 wins, though she has yet to win Album of the Year

Since then, Agatha All Along reintroduced Billy into the MCU. What's more, the series also gave Billy's motive: to find Tommy.

For a long time Naomi Watts seemed destined to be known as Nicole Kidman‘s less successful close friend. Born in the United Kingdom but raised in Australia, Watts struggled for many years to find her footing as an actress. While her friend rose to fame, Watts just couldn’t seem to catch a break.

Gotham is expanding in “The Penguin” and that means a lot of familiar names, but new faces. In some cases, it means new names too.

Premiering on HBO on Thursday, September 19, “The Penguin” takes place just a few weeks after the events of “The Batman,” but centers on crime boss Oz Cobb — better known as the Penguin. Naomi Watts and Bill Murray first shared the screen together in 2014 with the heartwarming movie, St. Vincent. A decade later, the stars have reunited for The Friend, an unforgettable drama from directors Scott McGehee and David Siegel. But as it turns out, getting in touch with Murray for the role seemed nearly impossible in the moment. Despite their previous collaboration, getting the script to Murray was a challenging task for Watts, but one she was determined to make happen.

At the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for the premiere of The Friend, Naomi Watts and the movies co-director, David Siegel, sat down for an exclusive interview with Collider and talked about their experience of reaching out to Murray for The Friend. When asked about her experience working with Murray and if it was easy casting him, Watts responded by saying:

No, not really. We have worked together before, but we're not always in touch.

The film would become a surprise hit in the genre which was usually dominated by men and even earn McCarthy an Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress.

Y2K is a horror comedy set during the Y2K panic, starring rising talent like Julian Dennison and Rachel Zegler. Kyle Mooney's directorial debut imagines a chaotic New Year's Eve party in 1999 turned deadly. Premiered at SXSW, Y2K releases on December 6, offering a late-'90s vibe and a mix of rising stars and seasoned pros.

Kyle Mooneys alternate-history horror comedy Y2K is led by a stellar ensemble cast featuring such rising stars as Julian Dennison, Jaeden Martell, and Rachel Zegler. The movie marks Mooneys directorial debut from a script he co-wrote with Evan Winter. The story imagines what wouldve happened if Y2K the computer apocalypse that was expected to follow the turn of the year 2000 actually happened. Its told through the lens of a coming-of-age romp set at a high school party held on New Years Eve 1999. Picture This is the End, but with more of a late-90s vibe.

At the Greek Theatre Friday night, St. Vincent, a.k.a. Annie Clark, dedicated All Born Screaming’s “The Sweetest Fruit,” a tribute to queer trailblazers lost too soon, to anyone in the audience who’s ever felt different or excluded—everyone in the audience, the singer and multi-instrumentalist speculated. Despite the song’s tragic subject matter, and the darkness cast across Clark’s latest album, the show was, as she put it, a party.

The show was a challenge of stamina and musicianship, comprising 20 tightly paced songs that demanded Clark’s full vocal range and near-constant guitar playing. Vocally, she was in peak form, closing her eyes and pulling in close to the mic to gnash on every last lyric of “Flea”: “Drip you in diamonds, pour you in cream/You will be mine for eternity.” And when she played the snarling, seductive “Surgeon,” Clark’s fingers blazed...

In 2014, Naomi Watts voiced an animated version of herself in the “BoJack Horseman” episode “One Trick Pony.” The Watts in Hollywoo — the “BoJack” stand-in for the entertainment industry’s epicenter, inhabited mostly by anthropomorphic animals — is starring opposite BoJack in a biopic about his frenemy, Mr. Peanutbutter. She appears on set preparing to play Diane, a burgeoning writer. The meta joke is the actress accepted the part to get a break from emotionally draining, praiseworthy performances.

“I just keep getting pigeonholed as these complex characters in highly acclaimed movies,” the animated Watts bemoans to a character who is a parody of host Ryan Seacrest (A Ryan Seacrest Type). “For once, I would just love to phone it in and play a two-dimensional girl in a rom-com with no inner life of her own. That’s kind of the reason I got into this business.”

Ten years later, that tongue-in-cheek guest appearance now feels almost prophetic.

St. Vincent is tired of singers covering Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” while stripping away its original meaning. In a recent interview with BBC Radio, she called such covers “the worst thing in the world.”

Speaking to host Jo Whiley, the artist born Annie Clark praised “Hallelujah” as an “absolute masterpiece” and referenced how it took Cohen “many years to write” the song.

Ten years after uniting for the coming-of-age drama St. Vincent from writer-director Theodore Melfi, Naomi Watts and Bill Murray have found their next project together. Per Deadline, the pair are now set to lead the star-studded cast of the indie drama The Friend from Montana Story pair Scott McGehee and David Siegel. They'll be joined in the film by Emmy-winning The Handmaid's Tale star Ann Dowd alongside Golden Globe nominee Constance Wu, Sarah Pidgeon, and Noma Dumezweni.

James “Rhodey” Rhodes is a central character in the MCU—having appeared in eight films to date. The character has also featured in the miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021) and is poised to be the main focus in Armor Wars, which is in production now. And Don Cheadle is all set to wield the suit of War Machine.

The Screen Actors Guild announced their annual nominations this morning and there are some minor plot twists. They rejected May December in totality (Todd Haynes movies do continue to struggle with non-critic based movie awards bodies), embraced Nyad just like the Globes did, and threw new question marks around both Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress. No major plot twists this year, though, like an I Smile Back, Woman in Gold, or St. Vincent.

The SAG Awards will stream live on Netflix this year – a first! – as we’ve long suspected awards shows will move to streaming like everything else has. Comments and a full list of nominees after the jump…...

Exclusive: Skydance has taken on the challenge of turning the bestselling YA fantasy novel series Ranger’s Apprentice into a live action film, with the hope it can become a franchise. Skydance has gotten control of the John Flanagan book series, and has closed a big deal with Hidden Figures helmer Ted Melfi to adapt, direct, and produce the film. Kim Quinn will also be producer.

Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger will produce alongside Melfi and Quinn. Flanagan will be executive producer, and Matt Grimm will oversee for Skydance.

I’ve heard that Melfi has made a deal worth high 7-figures if the movie gets made. His task will be to take the first two volumes – The Ruins of Gorlan & The Burning Bridge – and get a franchise off the ground that focuses on an orphan named Will who becomes an apprentice to a group of mysterious protectors known as the Rangers.

Despite being critically panned, "Identity Thief" has found renewed popularity on Netflix, ranking No. 9 on their most-viewed English language films list. Jason Bateman pushed to change the male con artist character in "Identity Thief" to a female and cast Melissa McCarthy. Both Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman have redeemed themselves with critically acclaimed projects following "Identity Thief," including "St. Vincent" and "Ozark."

In its final stretch, on Sunday, the Toronto International Film Festival will announce the film chosen by the public for the People’s Choice Award of its 48th edition. After “Poor Things” took home the Golden Lion at Venice, we look to the Canadian awards season staple to boost a film in the hunt for best picture.

This weekend, Netflix is adding a documentary drama series that has already been the subject of controversy, an action drama movie, and a new season of one of Netflix’s most popular reality shows. Last weekend, the streaming giant welcomed a long list of licensed content to kick off a new month, with the most notable titles being the Austin Powers movie trilogy, David Fincher’s The Curious Base of Benjamin Button, the horror movies Dawn of the Dead and Paranormal Activity, the psychological drama Girl, Interrupted, the epic Western drama Legends of the Fall, the comedies Pitch Perfect and This is the End, the drama Steel Magnolias, and the comedy-drama A Man Called Otto.

When it comes to original content, last weekend saw the arrival of the Turkish drama TV series The Tailor, the drama limited series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, and the Japanese drama TV series Sanctuary.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first scripted TV series, the Jennifer Lopez-starring action film The Mother and documentaries featuring Anna Nicole Smith and Barack Obama are among the high-profile projects hitting Netflix this month.

At the end of May, the streamer is dropping the Schwarzenegger-starring spy comedy Fubar, in which the former California governor and Top Gun: Maverick’s Monica Barbaro play a father and daughter who discover they’ve each been secretly working as CIA operatives as they’re forced to team up and get to know each other’s true selves.

And earlier this month, in time for Mother’s Day, Lopez plays an assassin who emerges from hiding to protect a daughter she gave up for adoption years earlier in The Mother, streaming this Friday. Melissa McCarthy explains how her view of The Little Mermaid's Ursula has changed. Directed by Rob Marshall, the live-action remake of Disney's 1989 animated film stars Halle Bailey as the young mermaid who dreams of visiting the surface world. McCarthy takes on the role of Ursula. In the animated movie, the sea witch's motivations to acquire power, along with her song "Poor Unfortunate Souls," make her a memorable antagonist. The Little Mermaid trailer features several glimpses of McCarthy's Ursula, and audiences are eager to see her in a more villainous role.

In a recent interview with People, McCarthy revealed what it was like playing Ursula and shared that her perception of the character changed while filming. Read McCarthy's comments regarding Ursula in The Little Mermaid below:

[Ursula] is just bigger than life. So then to kind of have to live with her for that long and really think about, like, what is she afraid of?...

Oscar-nominated actress, writer and producer Melissa McCarthy has been named as CinemaCon’s Cinema Vérité Award recipient for 2023.

The NATO convention’s awarding of the prize at its Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony, taking place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas the night of April 27th, comes a little less than a month ahead of the release of Disney’s new live-action take on The Little Mermaid, from filmmaker Rob Marshall, which has McCarthy playing the sea witch, Ursula.

The Oscar-nominated actress is set to receive a Cinema Vérité Award in Las Vegas, an honor that comes ahead of her next starring turn in Walt Disney Studios’ The Little Mermaid on May 26. McCarthy stars as Ursula for filmmaker Rob Marshall opposite Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder and Javier Bardem as King Triton.

The 2021 Netflix drama The Starling focuses on a couple's grief over losing their baby, and the setting plays an important part in the characters moving forward with their lives. While Jack Maynard (Chris O'Dowd) is staying at a hospital, his wife, Lilly (Melissa McCarthy), finds a bird outside of her home, which sets her on a journey of finding a way to cope with their infant passing away as a result of Sids.
