Joanna Vanderham said in an interview that she saw in the script that her character would be naked during a sex scene but assumed they wouldn't actually do it because she sees nudity written into scripts all the time that are never carried through. So she was surprised on the day of filming when the director told her she would have to be nude. She refused because she wanted to be known for her performances, not her body. The director wasn't happy but agreed. Six years later she did agree to be fully nude in the TV series Warrior (2019).
