He shared a fun memory related to a dance sequence in the film and joked about himself and his co-actors Nasiruddin Shah, Gulshan Grover, and Uday Chandra by calling everyone a “good dancer” except Mithun Chakraborty.

Though in reality it was just the opposite. He said: “Back then, during the ‘Hum Paanch’ shoot, there were about 1,000-1,500 dancers, and it was Boney Kapoor’s first film. Nasiruddin Shah, Me, Gulshan Grover, and Uday Chandra were very good dancers who struggled with every move, while Mithun Chakraborty, who was a very bad dancer, nailed every step perfectly in just one shot. We all were tense seeing this. Our dance director at the time was Kamal(Kumar) ji, who was strict but a big star director.”

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Music Review
Director Sooraj Barjatya is back with his eternal Prem (Salman Khan) in tow in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which looks a fun throwback to the Rajshri blockbusters like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain. He’s roped in Himesh Reshammiya, who is no stranger to retro sounds with his composing work, which is both his weakness and strength to haters and fans. Yet Reshammiya shows that he’s up to task in recreating the big and grand spectacles of the Rajshri songs. If we were to compare the soundtrack to a food, it’s like a comfort food that delivers the goods for that short while, which is part of the Rajshri treatment that we’re getting after so long.

The album kicks off with Prem Leela, which is a big and brassy number that was unveiled last week. The song is your characteristic Salman song with the loud dhols and drums,...

Welcome 2 Karachi scores high on ‘like’ quotient, shows different side of Jackky Bhagnani
There was some good recognition and appreciation that Jackky Bhagnani got when he came up with a good and well balanced performance in Youngistaan. While many stood up noticed that the youngster, who did have a successful F.A.L.T.U. behind him, could demonstrate a different facet of his acting abilities, the makers even pitched for an Oscars nominations for the film.

A little more than a year down the line and after having played the part of a sophisticated Prime Minister candidate, Jackky is taking an about turn and getting into a goofy avtar for Welcome 2 Karachi. As a young Gujarati boy who finds himself in Pakistan without any official papers whatsoever, Jackky is supposed to have let his funny side do all the talking in this Ashish R. Mohan (Khiladi 786) directed film.

“As an actor, Jackky has progressed quite well and Youngistaan was a testimony of that. With Welcome 2 Karachi,...

Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani promise good entertainment with Welcome 2 Karachi
In the times when hits are difficult to come, films are seldom taking an opening, disasters are the order of the day an anything even remotely entertaining is lending some hopes of revival for Bollywood, the promo of Welcome 2 Karachi has made many stand up and notice. Just when it seemed that it would be a while before one would get to witness a good out and out comedy on the big screen, the arrival of Welcome 2 Karachi has indeed turned out to be a welcome moment for all involved.

“What has impressed most is the camaraderie that Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani are sharing in the film. The makers have done well in taking an out and out comic route, considering the fact that all of a sudden the laughter quotient has simply dried up in the film industry. It is as if filmmakers have stopped trusting audience to laugh at their jokes.

After a super busy 18 odd months that saw as many as 8 films releasing in theatres, Akshay Kumar would be off the screens for some time to come now. Though the actor has already finished two films and is in the process of starting his third, he would be on a mini break of sorts before arriving with a release of his. Holiday, remake of Thuppakki, is his next release and it would be arriving on 1st May. This would be a little over six months since his last release Boss," informs a source. Not that it was planned this way. Initially, the film was supposed to arrive in the month of March. However, with Reliance finding 1st May as the better date for the film's release and deciding to push Holiday ahead by a few weeks, there is a time gap that has come in for next release of Akshay's.

Akshay Kumar in Boss (2013)
'Boss': Fun-filled, hugely-enjoyable Masala Dossier (Ians Hindi Film Review)
Akshay Kumar in Boss (2013)
Film: "Boss"; Cast: Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Ronit Roy,Shiv Pandit, Aditi Rao Hydari, Danny Denzongpa; Directed by Anthony d'Souza; Rating: ****

The second-half of this breakneck-speed, blues-chaser of a movie opens with a long chase sequence through the narrow gallis of a dusty small-town in North India where we last saw Akshay Kumar having a ball in "Rowdy Rathod" and "Khiladi 786".

Somehow in those films, Akshay ended up having more fun that we did. This time, our enjoyment-quotient matches Akshay's step-by-step, scene-by-scene, frame-by-frame chuckle for chuckle.

"Boss" is as much fun to watch as it must have been to shoot. Almost every sequence is an 'item'. And for once the word 'item' is not a gaali..

Moreover, what is noticeable is the fact that the man of the moment - Akshay Kumar - is indeed having fun in the film. Now that is pretty much on the display, courtesy songs like 'Party', 'Hum To Tode' and of course the ti...

Akshay to do an extended cameo in Punjabi film
Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar was seen portraying the role of Punjabi Munda quite often, from Namastey London to his recent hit Khiladi 786, but the actor never tried his hands on in a full fledged regional venture. Now that he is producing a Punjabi film, Bhaji In Problem, Akshay is all set to do an extended cameo in the movie. As per the buzz, the actor has shot about five to six scenes and since he is well versed with the language, doing the role was a cakewalk for him. Also, Akshay was truly impressed with the character written for him and hence decided to play the role. Apparently, the actor has now completed the shoot and is off for a holiday with his family. The film is set to release this year.

Special Report: Toifa Musical Extravaganza- Video Added!
One of the most dazzling events to kick start the Times of India Film Awards was the opening night’s Musical Extravaganza held Thursday night at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. Hosted by the peppy and energetic Neha Dhupia, the concert featured Sunidhi Chauhan, Mohit Chauhan, Hard Kaur, Shalmali Kholgade, Abbas Hassan, and Kavita Seth. It was an evening full of wild flames, wonderful dancing, but felt rather improvisatory and rushed.

The event started a full half an hour late, which you can naturally forgive given the amount of prepwork that goes into pulling off such a huge event. When we hit the show running, choreographer Shiamak Davar decided on the unconventional route and sang his signature tune, ‘Jaane Kisne’. Instead of bringing out his troupe, Davar sang his tune around the stage alongside two dancers conveying that yearning and hope to the seductive beat. Davar can hold a tune...

Akshay Kumar and Asin in Khiladi 786 (2012)

When the Akshay- Asin- Himesh starrer Khiladi 786 was shown on TV, it recorded a Trp of a breath-taking 5.1. This response matters more to Himesh as he is also the co-producer of the film. With Khiladi 786, Himesh has struck gold for the sixth time in a row as a music director, the previous ones being Bodyguard, Bol Bachchan, Omg Oh My God, Son Of Sardaar, and also the recently released Special 26 (where he was the guest composer).

BollySpice Wish list for 2013!
2012 was a reasonably good year for Bollywood overall, with trade pundits stating that in terms of innovation & commerce, the year set a benchmark. With the 2013 movie calendar looking additionally promising, it’s a safe bet that the year will have enough drama, action and (hopefully) moolah to keep everyone thoroughly entertained. But while 2012 was high on taking risks, leaving the old out and embracing the new, it left us desiring for more a little more in terms of alliances, trends and outlooks. Hence, though Christmas is a month past us, we are hoping that in the event Santa is working overtime, we have a small wishlist for the things we desire from Bollywood in 2013.

5. Srk-Salman Patch Up

They patched up. No they didn’t. They almost did. Well they eventually didn’t. One of the most popular combos of the 90s, Salman and Shah Rukh kept everyone guessing off a...
