till now if u din watch tis movie then ur a loser !!

once i was studying 10th standard, this movie was released when my half yearly exam was going on in a full swing. it was the movie posters and title itched me to watch this movie. when the posters revealed that this movie is set in 90's i waited for its release. i had my exam in the afternoon but i watched this movie in the morning and went for the exam in the evening. everyone thought its another commercial tamil movie set in the backdrops of madurai city. but for everyone's surprise it made a huge impact in tamil movie industry. i would say its a must watchable tamil movie. subramaniapuram, the name, by itself shows its not an ordinary tamil masala movie. five uneducated men enjoying their life by doing odd jobs in 1980. the director brought the backdrops of 90's to his perfection. it was sasikumar's debut film but if you have watched the movie , you won't say its by a debutant. then i have to tell u about the music director james vasanthan. he, normally not approached by any director to do a movie but he is the music teacher of director sasikumar in his school days and so the director roped him in this movie. he gave the movie a great strength by giving songs that suits the 90's. moreover i wrote this to say that its one of the movie that you must watch if you are a movie lover like me.

MADURAI SAMBAVAM

This movie will speak the madurai people's brave and their fanatical rowdism. Sasikumar sir is an unrated director and the actor of Tamil cinema. It's an inspiration Anurag to take " gangs of wasseypur " . Martin Scorsese called Anurag after the release of his movie and talked about subramaniyapooram. As an Tamil cinema industry fan, I'm very proud of this movie.

A Raw and Powerful Slice of Life

Subramaniapuram is a powerful and unflinching look at life in a small Tamil Nadu town during the 1980s. Sasikumar's directorial debut avoids romanticizing the past, instead presenting a raw and often brutal depiction of the era. The film's strength lies in its authenticity, capturing the nuances of social dynamics, the desperation of youth, and the ever-present threat of violence. The performances are uniformly strong, and the film's gritty realism makes it a truly immersive experience. Subramaniapuram is more than just a crime thriller; it's a social commentary that resonates even today. It's a must-watch for those who appreciate cinema that tackles difficult subjects with honesty and unflinching realism.
