reminds me of Atlanta

The show's style reminds me a lot of Donald Glover's Atlanta, especially since it's music related. The cinematography is also clean in all aspects, really nice lighting, location, set design, costume, and the coloring has a very tasteful thickness to it (iykyk).

It's probably better if you're Mexican or Latin yourself to understand slang and jokes, and I just personally have always found dubbed shows kind of awkward anyways.

Probably one of the best Mexican dramedies ever made, and I'm really hoping for a second season. I also liked the inclusion of corridos in there and hope to see them more if they come out with another season.

engaging

I've never been to Mexico so I don't know how close this series is to the real life but I do feel some misconception. Sms on the main hero's smartphone shows a date of 2022, and his crew does use notebooks. Yet that "visual art" girl is filming on a vhs camera from 90s, really?? And those clips she's making are literally like from a year 1990, not 2022. Seriously, now you can film and edit everything just with your smartphone, no need for notebook even. That really blew my mind. You have tik-tok, u have tons of mtv clips and you're filming this kind of bs video clips... Ugly indeed.

But the series is engaging and I kinda root for the main character. Watched several episodes in one go.

Finished in one day

If you speak Spanish, watch the show in Spanish because the show is a lot more hilarious and interesting than it would be if watched in English. I love and appreciate how the series was kept as realistic as possible when it comes to the streets of Mexico. The actors did an amazing job. In particular, Sasha Gonzalez (DATA) was my favorite out of all of them! I am definitely a new fan. The show was so entertaining, I finished the first seven episodes of the series in one sitting. I am impatiently waiting for the next six episodes of the series to come out, best believe I'll finish those in one day too.

I <3 it!

Not gonna lie, at first I didn't think I would watch this show on Max because the english dubbed over was bothering the HELL out of me, BUT I actually watched every episode in one sitting. This is such a good show and I highly recommend it! It seemed really well written and it gave off a very "realistic" sorta vibe, it had very relatable dialogue that I could imagine people ACTUALLY saying to each other which is a plus because some shows really mess up in the dialogue department. Overall I'm hoping there is a second season in the near future and if there is, I will definitely be binge watching it!

Can't stop binging and why would I?

The vibe is just right in this show. No glamour. Just true grit with a talented cast. It finds the right balance between humor and it's beats. The "Rad Bunny" episode is definite proof of that. The show gives shout outs to the MVPs in the Latin hip hop game. The cast however steal the spotlight in this show. If this is any indication as to what MAX has in store for its international market, then they may have just struck Gold. Truly excited to see how this series play out in the coming months as word of mouth spreads (yours truly has already started) and the hashtags pinpoint what makes this show stand out. #vgly.

Wow!! Loved it! Can't wait for Season 2

I watched a movie called I am not here and found Vgly after looking up the actors. I was just going to watch first episode to see if it was any good. I ended up watching whole season in 3 days cause I still had to work. Almost called in to finish watching but wife didn't want to miss work to watch TV all day. She's kind of an old lady like that. The show is very well written and takes you on a awesome ride. These young actors were great. Bubble is off the chain. Every episode is better than the last. I was very sad when I got to last episode because I didn't realize it was last episode. They have confirmed that there will be a second season and I hope vgly crew get to meet some special guest. I really love this show!!

Amateur level production

This is an example of a new genre of Mexican series. Unfortunately, while the idea behind the series is very contemporary and current, the production is very poor. The audio is barely audible, and this having good audio is essential since the Spanish used is street level and ungrammatical. It's filled with slang words. The editing is choppy and the scenes jump in a random fashion, going from one plot line to another which may not be related to the one before. This non- linear narrative makes it impossible for the viewer to have any story continuity. The characters are from a poor neighborhood, are all broke, but at the same time have access to the latest technology, computers and smart phones. This creates a huge disconnect and takes the story into the realm of fantasy. After a while, the chaos and confusion causes the viewer to disengage and lose interest.
