Stalker

This movie tricked me into thinking it was one dimensional and super predictable, but was I ever so wrong.

Stalker involves two characters, both stuck in a broken down elevator and we can understandably believe that the story is going to be slow and uneventful, but while it does start off a little laboured, the acting from Sophie Skelton is first class and she drew me into both herself and the interestingly developing outcomes. Rather in the same vein as Mia Goth in Pearl, Skelton's incredible range is at times breath taking and actually had me rewinding and watching again her intriguing sets. Negatives include an uninspired performance by Stuart Brennan, who really is overshadowed by Skelton. The reveals take a wee bit long to arrive and the ending is a bit weird and I didn't understand everything that transpires. But nonetheless, the creepy factor increases and the final third is quite gory and confronting. Skelton is the reason for watching this and I enjoyed her performance.

Exactly what it deserved. Probably nothing. Low wannabe indie film with limited everything, lots of suspension of disbelief, good acting though, but with almost non existent material to work with from the beginning. If only they were four in the lift that would have been awesome and a +2-2.5 added to the ratings.

I liked this film. It's definitely low budget only 3 total actors so they're using the play model where this could just be a play. It's one location as well. The acting is pretty good, I really liked the female lead tho. She nails the role.

These types of films are important for a younger actor who's up and coming. She definitely has a future in acting. Some of the movie stalls and is flat given its 1:35 hr run time.

Overall I think it's a good efffort for some low budget horror. It's not going to blow you away but at the same time you can watch it and enjoy some solid acting and some good twists. 6/10.
