Choice paralysis is a byproduct of the digital age and late capitalism. Everyone has felt it — you're standing in the blindingly fluorescent supermarket aisle, surrounded by hundreds of brands of crackers, wondering just which one you want, thinking that it would almost feel easier to live in a totalitarian society with one simple choice ('Crackers-Brand Crackers'). People experience this in the streaming world as well, scrolling through title after title, reading or doing research about each, until more time has been spent searching for a movie on Netflix than it would've taken to watch one.
Algorithms don't exactly make it easier, either. These predictive strings of mathematical code anticipate one's every want, changing the titles on a home page based upon what's previously been watched. The problem is, this can create a feedback loop in which one only sees what one has already seen (or something close to it). The...

Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra, who is conquering the west with her Hollywood projects, has now stepped into the boundaries of the regional cinema. She is foraying into the Marathi film industry with her upcoming production venture Ventilator which is produced under her banner Purple Pebble Pictures. And apart from making a guest apperance in the film, the multifaceted actress has also lent her voice to a Marathi song titled Baba, which is a tribute to her late father Ashok Chopra who passed away in 2008 due to cancer. Priyanka, who has previously crooned singles like In My City, Exotic, title track of Dil Dhadakne Do and Lori in Mary Kom, has tried contributing vocals to a Marathi track and believe us, she has totally nailed this one. The emotional track expresses the feelings of a son/daughter who is calling out his/her ailing father to come back home soon who is put on a ventilator.

The Sunset Club by Karan Tejpal & Tia Tejpal
Karan Tejpal
What is your project about? What language will the film be in?
The Sunset Club is adapted from one of Khushwant Singh’s last novels. It captures the election year of 2009 in India through the eyes of a 40 year old friendship between three octogenarians. An incredible commentary on independent India, the book beautifully captures the desires and despair of urban New Delhi. It is an intimate tale of daily meetings at the Lodhi Gardens, New Delhi; woven with arousing memories from the past of the three old men.
The film will be true to urban north India and hence in Hindi, English, Punjabi and Urdu.
At what stage of development is it?
The screenplay is raring to go from our side but we are looking forward to incorporating inputs from the Lab to take this project to fruition.
We are looking for Producers/Financing.

Known for his humorous roles, Sharman Joshi was recently seen in a simple role of a Parsi guy in the movie Ferrari Ki Sawaari. Taking a step ahead, Sharman is planning to experiment with the horror genre, as he will be seen as the male lead in the upcoming third installment of the 1920 franchise, titled 1920 London. While this is Sharman's first film in the supernatural genre, he will be seen playing the role of a Rajasthan based exorcist who moves to London to help a friend. Also co-producer Vikram Bhatt claims that this period film set in the 1920s will have more of haunting compared to the other films in the franchise which revolved around possession. 1920 London is produced by Asa Productions and it will also star Priyanka's cousin Meera Chopra in the lead. The film will go on floor this year and is set to release early summer next year.

Veteran Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi has proven his acting abilities to us time and again with brilliant roles in movies like 3 Idiots, Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Life in a Metro and Rang De Basanti etc.
However, we as an audience can associate him most with his role in the comedy series Golmaal. This time he is back again with another movie from the comedy genre – War Chhod Na Yaar!
Although he claims that his choice of movies is strictly based on the script of the movie, he has returned back to the comedy genre time and again. This can be proven by his association with each and every installment from the Golmaal series, after every serious movie he has done.
Even though he has declined to be a part of Golmaal Returns, he is busy with his upcoming film, War Chhod Na Yaar, the first War Comedy movie of India.

Sharman Joshi, who is riding high after the success of his film Ferrari Ki Sawaari (Fks), is a very miffed man today. The reason? Well, he feels that the makers of the film 3 Bachelors are trying to encash on the success of Fks by releasing the film on July 6 this year, which is almost after 10 years of it being made! Sharman, who termed it as sheer opportunism, said that even though he has nothing against the makers of the film 3 Bachelors, the fact that they have suddenly woken up now is what is bothering him. He also added that Fks has created audiences' goodwill and to capitalize on its success in this manner is not right. He is worried that the audience should not get an impression that this is his recent film. This take of Sharman has apparently not gone down well with the makers of 3 Bachelors, who are...

But Sharman always had faith that he will be doing one special film which will change the course of his life – and here comes “Ferrari Ki Sawaari” which will be evaluating his performance as the solo male lead of the film. “3 Idiots” was another great achievement for him, but there he was not the lead of the film, but now things have changed!
For Sharman it has always.

The top three won't budge, thanks to distributors wary of Euro 2012, while Rock of Ages crumbles and Red Lights flickers out
The immovable objects
For the third successive week, the top three places at the UK box-office are occupied by Prometheus, Men in Black 3 and Snow White and the Huntsman. The current market is the most becalmed since January 2010, when Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel dominated over a lengthy period. It's a case of strong product arriving for the half-term holiday, followed by two successive weekends of weaker films, with studios deterred by competition for eyeballs from Euro 2012 football. Prometheus leads the pack with a solid £19.45m, ahead of the likes of X-Men 3: The Last Stand (£19.22m) and Angels and Demons (£18.79m) in the all-time UK rankings. Top earner for the year remains The Avengers, in 17th place in the all-time chart, with £50.96m.

Comedy, the underdog, cricket and Raju Hirani – these are the things we absolutely love in Bollywood movies. And when we get them together in a single film, well it’s definitely a treat for us. Ferrari ki Sawaari is Rajesh Mapuskar’s sweet take on the middle class and their dreams.

His father Rustom (Sharmam Joshi), an Rto clerk, is a doting father who strongly believes that children learn what they see and hence always remain honest and follows the law. That’s until a training camp at Lords for the top players is announced. Sure that Kayo will be selected on the basis of his merit, Rustom doesn’t want his son to be deprived of this opportunity just because of his inability to pay the fees. Ferrari Ki Sawaari had its grand premiere a day before the worldwide release, after which the cast was hounded with compliments for the movie. Produced and written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar, Ferrari Ki Sawaari is the story of a father who is dedicated to help his 12-year-old son to achieve his dreams of being a cricketer.
The film is a joyful ride that is entertaining and should be watched along with your family. Ferrari Ki Sawaari strikes that emotional chord which makes you forget the hustle bustle of daily life and changes the way you look at life. It is apart from the norm and combines emotion beautifully along with cricket.
Sharman Joshi’s performance is heart-warming as the actor moves through an array of emotions with ease. The chemistry between the father and son on-screen appears too real to be doubted, little Ritwik...

Rock Of Ages (12A)
(Adam Shankman, 2012, Us) Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones. 123 mins
Doing for 1980s hair metal what Mamma Mia! did for Abba, this glossy musical gives you the broad pleasures of pantomime rather than rock'n'roll danger, with theatrical star turns and a playlist of power ballads hung around an archetypal tale of a smalltown girl and a wannabe rock star boy on La's Sunset Strip. You can stop believin' now.
Cosmopolis (15)
(David Cronenberg, 2012, Fra/Can/Por/Ita) Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Sarah Gadon. 109 mins
Don De Lillo's prescient novella makes for a cool Manhattan odyssey, centred on Pattinson's jaded banker and the Occupy zeitgeist.
Polisse (15)
(Maïwenn, 2011, Fra) Karin Viard, Joey Starr, Marina Foïs. 128 mins
A Wire-like approach to a French child protection unit reaps dividends for this docu-style procedural.
Red Lights (15)

Imtiaz Ali is not the only leading filmmaker who has agreed to unconditionally support Mangesh Hadawale's globally feted drama Dekh Indian Circus.
After Vivek Oberoi's unceremonious ouster as the film's co-producer the team was desperately looking for a known celebrity face for the film. After Imtiaz Ali, it's Vidhu Vinod Chopra who has agreed to support the film in every way possible.
Recently, Chopra was shown portions of the film and he insisted that the trailer of Dekh Indian Dekh (Dic) be attached to the new Vidhu Vinod Chopra production Ferrari Ki Sawaari which opens this Friday, thereby throwing the entire Dic team into a tizzy.
