It’s a seemingly normal morning for Joe, his digital assistant Mel wakes him up after preparing his condo for him. It also tells him his girlfriend Ash wants to meet him for coffee, something that spurs a flashback to their first meeting. He tells Mel to send Maxine a message that she’ll be running the store until he arrives and sets out to meet Ash.
When she arrives, Ash is noticeably nervous and says she has to tell him something. She says she loves him and manages to get as far as saying that she’s not from here before a man walks up and shoots her in the head. Joe chases him, but he seems to disappear in a dead-end alley.

Chicago Fire has hired its latest replacement for departing paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer). Jocelyn Hudon will join as a new paramedic in a recurring role with the potential to become a series regular in season 13. Hudon is known for her roles in Hallmark movies and other television titles, including The Strain.
Chicago Fire's newest Sylvie Brett replacement has joined the cast. The show, which is the flagship program of the NBC network's interlinked One Chicago franchise, follows the employees of the fictional Firehouse 51 in the Chicago Fire Department. One of the firehouse's key personnel was paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer), who has been part of the show since she joined the team at Ambulance 61 in season 3. However, Killmer left the show midway through the ongoing season 12 after playing the role for 199 episodes, which led to Brett's in-universe wedding and departure from the team.

Only '90s kids raised in video stores — or, more likely, their dads — will recall Luis Llosa's 1993 military thriller "Sniper" with any clarity. "Sniper" stars Tom Berenger as Master Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Beckett as he becomes lost in the jungle while trying to complete an assassination mission with a militarily inexperienced sharpshooter played by Billy Zane. The bulk of the film takes place in the woods of Colombia, although it was shot in Australia. The film was well-liked but critics noted that it was pretty generic; Roger Ebert gave "Sniper" three stars, noting that it was competent but lacked originality. The film boasts a 38 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but that comes from a mere 13 reviews.
What only fans of "Sniper" might know is that Tom Berenger returned to play Thomas Beckett in Craig R. Baxley's "Sniper 2" in 2002 and P.J. Pesce's "Sniper 3" in 2004. These two sequels...

Sniper: G.R.I.T. marks a passing of the torch in the Sniper franchise, with Chad Michael Collins appearing in more films than Tom Berenger. Despite the absence of Tom Berenger and Billy Zane, Sniper: G.R.I.T. promises thrilling action and the return of familiar characters. The film continues the story of the Global Response and Intelligence Team, with Brandon Beckett leading a mission to rescue a kidnapped agent.
Sniper: G.R.I.T. is the 10th film in the long-running Sniper series. The first Sniper film was released in 1993 and starred Tom Berenger as its protagonist, Master Gunnery Sergeant Tom Beckett. The franchise was eventually taken over by Chad Michael Collins as Brandon Beckett, the son of Berenger’s character. With Sniper: G.R.I.T. on the way, Collins will soon have appeared in more Sniper films (7) than Berenger (6), meaning the mantle of franchise lead...

Don’t let the #1 slot on iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu fool you: There’s lots more going on beyond “Black Adam” (Warner Bros. Discovery/19.99). In a landscape packed with franchise fare and Christmas contenders, “Bullet Train” (Sony/5.99) placed on all three charts and #1 as a new availability at Netflix.
The success of “Bullet Train” also speaks to the value of a film first enjoying a major theatrical presence. Its #1 slot Netflix comes after a 100 million+ domestic gross, followed by multiple weeks of VOD success. It replicates the platform’s immediate interest in Sony’s “Where the Crawdads Sing,” which spent more than a week at #1 (and is still #10).
The battle within that holly-jolly battle: Four Christmas-themed titles occupy nearly a third of the top 10 chart positions. The clear winner is Universal’s 2018 animated “The Grinch” (3.99), which ranks as high as #2 at iTunes, top 10 elsewhere. Universal’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas...
