The wine in the film is homemade wine from a local Pittsburgh actor and friend of the production. The label was designed by Irish comic book artist Danny Earls who has worked with DC and Marvel comics. The name "Victoria Domini" means "Victory of the Lord" in Latin.
Knowing that this was being shot in the fall in Pennsylvania, the writers put in the scene with Meghan and Ms. Hummel raking leaves. Unfortunately, on the scheduled shoot day for that scene, the homeowner had their lawn care company clean their yard the night before and there was not a single leaf in the yard. Two crew members were sent around the neighborhood to find leaves and then the idea was proposed to stuff trash bags to make it look like the characters were finishing their raking.
The day that the scene where TeTe confronts the "man in a golf shirt" at his home was filmed, is now called The Day of Wind and Witches. The wind blew over a large flag and c-stand which knocked over the camera, both had to be physically held down. The neighbors across the street were having a Halloween party and turned on all their outside decorations which included a 6-foot flying witch that screamed. (They were kind and eventually shut off the decorations).
Producers originally were going to collaborate with a local ice cream company to supply Meghan's "treat", but at the last minute they decided not to sign the agreement. Instead, the R&J Ice Cream that you see in the film is a reference to Kathleen Regan's uncle who passed away in 2013 and his company R&J Hot Dog. You will see the ice cream company is established in 1990, the year of her uncle and aunt's wedding. The image on the front of the ice cream is also taken from a favorite picture of her uncle.
Hershey, the dog, was the ONLY actor to consistently hit their mark every single time, despite not being originally written into the film. The doctor, whose office they were using, brought his dog when he stopped in to say hi, and Hershey was instantly cast.
