Tender, romantic, and sad

Japanese people seem to know how to make something really delicate , especially when it comes to romance films. Again, this is another film that makes my heart fly up with happiness and then tears fall down heavily. It is a memorable experience.

The story is a bit slow pace but it gets more and more beautiful as the relationship between Toru and Maori grows. You can recognize real love when you see what someone does for another person selflessly, and the romance in the story here is real love, although in the beginning it wasn't. You will also see real and strong friendship between Maori and Isumi. The chemistry between the two leads is just perfect, in my opinion. I enjoy watching good things about people. We've seen the bad of this world, the terrible people of this world, more than enough in films these days, why don't just take a look here and see that good people are out there; real love is out there and real friends for life exist?

You might think...is it so soapy and unrealistic if everything and everyone is so good like that? No, this movie will pull you back to reality soon. If you happen to find a lover of your dream who is also in love with you and does everything for you and accept you with your weakness and flaws, it will not be forever because we are living here on Earth. Happiness forever is only in fairytale and in Heaven. The movie shows that here on earth you can't have it all perfect and tragedy can come at any moment. Precious memory can come with pain, but should we try to forget it all? We also find that even if you lose your memory in the brain, but true memory can be retained in your body and your soul. Excellent work.

Tearjerker!

The story is wonderful and the direction does justice its beauty. While the story is thoroughly dramatic, neither the characters nor the dialogues let you disengage because of it. The portrayal balances out the story perfectly. A very neat showcase indeed!

All characters are well-written, each with their stories, thoughts and purpose.

With so much to portray, the pace of the movie is just right. It allows the viewer to feel each emotion in depth and very stealthily transitions to the next one. The movie starts with empathy for all 3 characters in different ways, goes on to boost serotonin (with hints of despair) and then breaks everything down towards the end.

The only shortcoming of the movie is the very last scene: It almost felt like they did not know how to end it after all that emotional high. The final impact seemed to be lacking. They took the safe route of using the name of the movie as the ending dialogue and it felt lazy at best.

All in all, a movie to watch with a tissue box!

I stumble and found a Gem!

Lucky I found this movie on the Internet and it is very very beautiful and I'm thankful for it.

The plot carries a big role on this movie and it just not like your typical japanese movie with a sick female lead that dies on the end. Its not like that. The 3 main characters is well portrayed and given enough spotlight to show their roles and back stories in a sense that it didn't ruin the timeline of the story telling.

And the ending is super good. In a sense that it will make you cry. Literally cry. And a lot.

More over, in a sense you will predict the twist of the story and you will think that this movie is just another cliche japanese sick lead romantic story but as you watch the movie progress, the "Real Plot Twist" will hit you straight out of your face. And you will realize that you are wrong with your assumption. That you are wrong how the movie progress and you are seeing yourself shedding tears to the specific scenarios of the movie and at the end you will see yourself sobbing out of it.

As for the characters, they are very well portrayed by the actor and actresses. The female lead looks like most of the time (90%)"Momo of Twice" and (on some angle)"Mina of twice". I also like how the characters has only a few clothing to use for the movie. As it emulates the realistic way of how people dress up on multiple times when seeing with friends and acquitances.

I very like the color grading of the movie. As I'm video editor myself. The soft tone of it accentuate the dream-like portrayal of each encounters of Tooru and Mouri and feels like it enhances the experience of the movie carrying you along with the character reminisce the past memories that been created on the movie. Overall, I really recommend this movie if you wanted to eyes to ball out and if you wanted to check if you still having feelings.

PS: Have a LOT of tissue if you have decided to watch this movie. Trust me, you'll need.

A must watch movie!

A movie that starts off with a simple concept of a girl with amnesia to a great friendship among three friends and a beautiful romance between two.

This movie one of the best I have seen. The ending is well done and it will make you cry for sure.

You will expect one thing and it heads to a totally different direction. At start I felt the movie to be a bit lengthy, but damn if you see the entire thing it feels so short and you would wish to see more.

Everything is great in this movie, the music, the color and editing style. Acting and directing was very well done.

For a 2 hour movie, this paints a very good picture and deserves your time.

A Memory

I won't write this as something sappy. I've never even written a review before. But something about this movie changed my perspective of how I treasure memories, people and time itself.

In a way, I'd like to think that Toru, Maori and Izumi all play the role of future, past and present. Slowly, as the story begins to progress, you can see how those roles start to change between them. I adore this movie with all my heart for the small details that I've picked up just from one sitting.

I'll definitely choose to rewatch this over and over again. If I ever forget this movie, I hope to remember it once more.

Love to be known

Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight" is probably one of my favorite movies ever. I really love the way it is filmed and created-how both main characters have their own side of the story and how their love is expressed and shown to the world.

The female lead has a condition due to which she loses her memory of the day every night. To be able to remember him, she writes about him in her diary. At first, it may not seem like much-since she needs to write things down anyway because of her condition-but the fact that they were never supposed to actually date or fall in love makes it all the more special and beautiful.

In the end, they don't get a happy ending, but it's still a touching one-the kind that makes you wish to experience that kind of love at least once in your life. I was heartbroken by the ending, because yes, it's a sad one. But I still love this movie with all my heart.

In the movie, love was disappearing in the end-but right now, in the real world, it feels like some stupid leaders and ignorant people are trying to end everything. I really hope that doesn't happen, because I still want to experience the love this life has to offer, and I want to write about it too.

I truly love anyone who has watched this movie and thought deeply about it. And if someone hasn't watched it, maybe they're just waiting to die in the war.
