David Schmoeller's 1989 film "Puppet Master" was almost going to be a theatrical release in the summer of 1989, but pivoted to the VHS market at the last minute. Looking at the 1989 supper movie season, one can see why producer Charles Band made the decision. "Puppet Master" would have opened against "Batman," "Ghostbusters II," "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," "Back to the Future Part II," "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier," "License to Kill," and "Lethal Weapon 2." There were just too many blockbusters it would've had to compete with.
Its movement to the straight-to-video market might have reduced its prestige, but "Puppet Master" spawned many, many sequels (not to mention a few crossovers) that persist to this day (the most recent "Puppet Master" film was released in 2022). The killer puppets in the film have become minor horror icons and often serve as the face of Full Moon Features, a...

After The Dead Hate the Living! and The Hills Run Red, Dave Parker was getting referred to as the next big thing in horror. Then in 2012 he made ColdWater which sat on the shelf for four years before being dumped on the streaming market as It Watches, killing his career momentum in the process. In the years since, he’s only directed one feature, Puppet Master: Doktor Death, and a pair of compilations, all for Full Moon. His new film, You Shouldn’t Have Let Me In, is a Tubi Original, and I’m not sure if that’s a step up or down career wise, but at least it’s a directing gig.

With his 2000 feature directorial debut The Dead Hate the Living!, Dave Parker made what I feel is one of the best Full Moon films, so I’ve been eager to see more of his work ever since. He hasn’t made a lot of movies over the decades, but every time he has, I’ve been there to check it out: the subversive slasher The Hills Run Red (2009), the anthology Tales of Halloween (2015), the housesitting horror It Watches, the Full Moon spin-off Puppet Master: Doktor Death (2022)… So I’m excited to see that a new Parker film, a vampire movie called You Shouldn’t Have Let Me In, has just been released through the free streaming service Tubi as a Tubi Original! The trailer is embedded above.

Mutilator 2, writer/director Buddy Cooper’s long-awaited follow-up to his 1984 slasher The Mutilator (pick up a copy Here), is ready to make its way out into the world. The movie even screened at Joe Bob Briggs’ latest drive-in Jamboree event back in October, and received an “audience favorite” award there. And yet it still hasn’t secured a distribution deal. Cooper confirmed this on Facebook, where he wrote, “We are still searching for distribution. It might help if a few fans asked their favorite streaming service or theater when they would be showing Mutilator 2. If enough people show an interest, I feel like a distributor would be willing to help get it out to everyone.“
The fact that Shudder hasn’t swooped in to release this as a Shudder Original is shocking, given that they’ve not only had The Mutilator on their streaming service, but even had...

After making Baby Oopsie, Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls, and Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn, which were spin-offs that focused on one character from Full Moon’s Demonic Toys franchise, writer/director William Butler moved on to a different Demonic Toys spin-off: Demonic Toys: Jack Attack. The movie was released through the Full Moon Features streaming service at the start of September, and now Full Moon has announced that Blu-ray and DVD copies are available!
Blu-ray copies of Demonic Toys: Jack Attack can be purchased at This Link, and DVD copies are available Here.
Jack Attack is a jack-in-the-box toy that has a scary clown face and nasty teeth, and is able to reach out of his box with his long, snake-like body. This evil character previously appeared in Demonic Toys, Dollman vs. Demonic Toys, Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys, and Demonic Toys 2: Personal Demons (which was also...

I have been a fan of Charles Band‘s company Full Moon since I was a kid, and the Puppet Master franchise ranks as one of my favorites – but I can’t say I have ever looked at the puppet characters in these films and wondered what it would be like if their looks were transformed into a shoe. But that’s exactly what the folks at the shoe company Bull Airs have been thinking. They have announced that a shoe inspired by the look of iconic puppet Blade will be going on sale at noon (Eastern time) on Friday, October 6th!
The Blade shoe will have a limited run of 250 and will sell for the price of $350.
Sizes: Mens US 4-15
Youth Sizes: Youth 1-3
Comes in Puppet Master-themed Collector’s Box, hand numbered. A select number will be signed by Charles Band.

Plot: After her foster mother is killed by the demonic jack-in-the-box Jack Attack, 16-year-old Lily is placed with another family… and then Jack Attack returns to wipe them out as well.
Review: Back in 1992, Full Moon introduced horror fans to the Demonic Toys. Four tiny terrors that look like something you’d find in a kid’s playroom, but are actually homicidal servants to demonic masters. There was Jack Attack, a clown jack-in-the-box with a maniacal laugh, sharp teeth, and a tentacle tail; Grizzly Teddy, a vicious teddy bear; Mister Static, a robot that rolls on tank treads and fires deadly lazers from its gun arms; and mouthy baby doll Baby Oopsie. The Demonic Toys never gained as much popularity as the puppets from Full Moon’s Puppet Master series, but they did get a franchise of their own. They battled a miniature Tim Thomerson in Dollman vs. Demonic Toys...

Earlier this year, Full Moon founder Charles Band announced that the Demonic Toys franchise would be continuing with another spin-off film that focuses on just one of the evil toys. After making Baby Oopsie, Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls, and Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn, writer/director William Butler moved on to a different Demonic Toys spin-off: Demonic Toys: Jack Attack. That movie is now in post-production, and in the new episode of his Full Moon Universe YouTube series, Band has shared the trailer! You can check it out in the embed at the bottom of this article.
We don’t have a plot synopsis for Demonic Toys: Jack Attack at this time, but Band has said that “It’s gonna be another Billy Butler mad movie, sparing no expense with death and weirdness and teeth and biting.” That said, the newly released trailer does give an idea of the story being told.

A couple weeks ago, Full Moon founder Charles Band announced that the Demonic Toys series will continue with another spin-off film that focuses on just one of the evil toys. After making Baby Oopsie, Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls, and Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn, writer/director William Butler is now diving into a different Demonic Toys spin-off: Demonic Toys: Jack Attack. Production is underway in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Full Moon YouTube channel has posted a short video that gives us a quick glimpse behind-the-scenes.
In this video, we get to see how Jack Attack is going to look in his solo outing, and we meet one of his unfortunate victims.

Yesterday, we shared the news that Full Moon’s Puppet Master franchise will continue with another solo puppet entry (like 2020’s Blade: The Iron Cross and last year’s Puppet Master: Doktor Death), Puppet Master: Furnace Leech Woman. And that’s not the only Full Moon franchise that’s about to get a new sequel. The Demonic Toys series is also continuing with movies that focus on just one of the evil toys at a time, and after making Baby Oopsie, Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls, and Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn, writer/director William Butler is now diving into a different Demonic Toys spin-off: Demonic Toys: Jack Attack.

Full Moon recently started taking a different approach to their long-running Puppet Master franchise. Rather than continue making Puppet Master movies that feature multiple puppets, they’re now focusing on solo puppet movies. These solo spin-offs got started with Blade: The Iron Cross in 2020 and continued with last year’s Puppet Master: Doktor Death. Now, in a new episode of his Full Moon Universe YouTube show, Full Moon founder Charles Band has announced that the next entry in the Puppet Master franchise is the solo puppet movie Puppet Master: Furnace Leech Woman.
It’s a bit odd that the movie isn’t just being called Puppet Master: Leech Woman, but there is reason for the addition of “Furnace” in there. Since late last year, Full Moon has been giving out replica puppets that are designed to look like the puppet Leech Woman after she was burned in a furnace in Puppet Master II.
