Amber Portwood Rages After Leah Sets Birthday Boundaries, Rejects Gift on ‘Teen …
Image
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Amber Portwood has a long history of not taking accountability for her actions.

This history inevitably includes reactions of extreme outrage when anyone recalls her misdeeds. She feels that she is entitled to forgiveness, no matter what.

Unfortunately, this means that watching Leah exclude her from her 16th birthday party and pass on her gift sent Amber into a rage spiral.

She may say that she’s done with Teen Mom, but she isn’t done watching and angrily reacting on social media.

Wearing a bold pair of glasses and a striped top, Amber Portwood recalls the well-deserved rejection that she received from her daughter for years. (Image Credit: MTV) Even though Amber Portwood says that she’s done with ‘Teen Mom,’ she’s still tuning in

Amber Portwood is still watching Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, presumably so that at least one of the viewers will...

American Psycho Soundtrack: Every Song & When It Plays
Image
The American Psycho soundtrack boasts some classic rock and pop hits from the 1980s. Songs by New Order and Genesis have even become synonymous with the movie, given the crucial scenes in which they play. Based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis and directed by Mary Harron, American Psycho revolves around a New York City banker who doubles as a serial killer at night. Rather than delving into familiar psychological thriller tropes, the highly quotable American Psycho takes a darkly comic approach as it decodes the consumerism and toxic masculinity that drives its twisted lead character, Patrick Bateman.

Music plays a chief role in American Psycho, given that Patrick has quite an interesting playlist. Despite the dark, homicidal things brewing in his mind, he listens to cheery songs while walking to the office. When he has visitors at his home, Patrick can also flaunt his record collection and break...

‘Silver Scream Con III’ Event Report – This Convention Just Keeps Getting Bigger and Better
Image
Like Spirit Halloween seizing a once-beloved store, Silver Scream Con moved into the old stomping grounds of Rock and Shock — New England’s premier horror convention, which came to an end in 2019 — at the Dcu Center in Worcester, Ma for its three-quel on September 13-15.

It was a full circle moment for Silver Scream mastermind and Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas, whose experiences attending Rock and Shock inspired him to start his own convention. Having quickly outgrown its previous venue, the Doubletree hotel in Danvers, Silver Scream Con III’s new setting was able to accommodate even more horror fans for three days of horror, music, gore, and more.

The guest list included: Scream‘s David Arquette, Jamie Kennedy, and Lee Waddell; Cabin Fever‘s Eli Roth, Cerina Vincent, and Jordan Ladd; Terrifier‘s Damien Leone, David Howard Thornton, Lauren Lavera, Elliott Fullam, and Amelie McLain; Halloween‘s Nick Castle,...

Cuckoo clip puts a spotlight on Dan Stevens’ brilliant and terrifying performance
Hunter Schafer in Cuckoo (2024)
Two years have gone by since we heard that production had wrapped on Cuckoo, a new horror film from writer/director Tilman Singer that stars Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), Dan Stevens (The Guest), Jessica Henwick (Love and Monsters), Marton Csókás (Freelance), Greta Fernández (Santo), and Jan Bluthardt (Tatort). Now our chance to see the film is upon us, as it has reached theatres today, August 9th. JoBlo’s own Tyler Nichols gave Cuckoo an 8/10 review you can read at This Link, we have interviews with the lead actors Here, and earlier this week we shared a clip that gave Schafer’s character a terrifying biking experience. A press release noted that Dan Stevens turns in a “brilliant and terrifying” performance in the film, and he has described his role as a “delicious antagonist role.” In the new clip embedded above, we get a 90 second sample of Stevens’ performance, and it is quite creepy.

Futurama's Maurice Lamarche Has A Hard Time Revisiting One Particular Episode
Image
Voice actor Maurice Lamarche is one of the preeminent elder statesmen of his craft. He started his career in stand up, finding he was a talented mimic, moving into animation in 1980. He appeared in hit shows like "Inspector Gadget" and "Transformers," really hitting his stride in 1985 playing Ego Spengler in "The Real Ghostbusters." He cycled through the KidsWB canon aggressively in the late '80s and early '90s, appearing in "Taz-Mania," "Batman: The Animated Series," "Tiny Toon Adventures," "Freakazoid!," and "Animaniacs" wherein he employed his spot-on Orson Welles impersonation to voice the power-hungry mouse the Brain. His largest sampling of voice caricatures came from his work on the 1994 series "The Critic," where he voiced celebrities ranging from William Shatner to Elizabeth Taylor (but only when she was belching).

In 1999, Lamarche became one of the regulars on Mat Groening's and David X. Cohen's sci-fi sitcom "Futurama" where he played Kif,...

Futurama's Infamous 'Jurassic Bark' Episode Could Have Been Even More Grim
Image
The episode of "Futurama" entitled "Jurassic Bark" was about the unfrozen 20th-century boob Fry (Billy West) going to a museum in the year 3002 to find ancient antiques of the pizza joint where he used to work. There was a pizza paddle, an old dining booth, and, most shockingly, the fossilized remains of his beloved pet dog Seymour. Professor Farnsworth (West) explains that, because Seymour was fossilized so quickly, there may still be a creamy center of organic dog matter somewhere inside Seymour's rock shell. With such matter, Seymour could be cloned and returned to life with his memories and personality intact, so Fry endeavors to steal Seymour's remains from the museum. Half of the episode is told in flashback, and audiences enjoy scenes of Fry bonding with his dear dog. At one point, Fry teaches the pooch how to bark Katrina and the Waves' 1985 hit "Walking on Sunshine."

Eventually, the...

‘Good Boys’ Review: Jacob Tremblay Drops a Lot of F-Bombs in Raunchy Adolescent Comedy
Jacob Tremblay
From the moment 12-year-old Jacob Tremblay mutters “Fuck yeah!” and prepares to masturbate to an avatar on his computer in the opening scene of “Good Boys,” the underlying appeal of this raunchy adolescent comedy comes together. The latest R-rated romp from comedy super producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg marks the directorial debut for “The Office” scribe Gene Stupnitsky, who co-wrote with writing partner Lee Eisenberg, and it follows many of the familiar beats of a story about neighborhood boys who just want to have fun. But that formula has never centered on sixth graders, and the entertainment value of watching them curse their way through lewd daylong adventure injects fresh entertainment value into a familiar routine. While the pace is spotty and not every joke lands, “Good Boys” manages to be adorable and twisted at the same time.

The trio of suburban pals at the center of the movie...

‘Silicon Valley’ Review: Richard and Jared Tap Into Their Darker Sides As the Show’s Wheels Spin
Martin Starr, Zach Woods, T.J. Miller, Thomas Middleditch, and Kumail Nanjiani in Silicon Valley (2014)
After a season that’s seen them have to claw back from the bottom, it’s easy to wonder when the Pied Piper crew will catch a break. The cosmic, bleak comedy of Richard Hendricks’ career is that he keeps stumbling into weekly, lightbulb-over-his-head discoveries that, on any other show, would have landed him at the top of the industry by now. But in the world of “Silicon Valley,” good ideas barely ever get these characters past the next scene.

Richard’s life as an app entrepreneur (apptrepreneur?) hasn’t always been the healthiest. But in the show’s increasing efforts to show the full weight of jockeying for position in the tech world, Richard got a less than clean bill of health. Instead of merely showing him as a sleep-deprived zombie, this doctor’s visit hinted that it’s not just his psyche that’s taking a beating by...

The little link between Moon and Sunshine
Simon Brew Feb 1, 2017

Moon director Duncan Jones put a "sly aside" to Danny Boyle's Sunshine in his film, he's revealed...

Two British directors made two fascinating science fiction films in the 2000s. Danny Boyle gave the world the terrific Sunshine in 2007, and Duncan Jones’ debut feature, Moon, arrived in 2009. The pair, though, have a little link between them, that was unearthed by Mark Kermode.

Kermode was hosting a screening of Moon in Truro last week, that he followed with an on-stage Q&A with Duncan Jones. And Jones revealed that there’s a little tribute to Sunshine within Moon.

“Apparently, Moon and Sunshine at one point were slightly in competition”, Kermode said. “And that’s why, in Moon, there’s a burst of Katrina & The Waves doing Walking On Sunshine”.

Jones was apparently very aware of the competition between Sunshine and Moon when putting his movie together, and thus...

It never fails. The one day you were finally going to hit that all-you-can-eat donut buffet or start training for that 5K or sign up for spin classes once and for all -- no, really this time -- it rains. And it doesn't. Stop. Raining.

On those days, all you have to comfort you is that blank, black void, your old friend, your TV, beckoning you to spend the entire day in a whole new world. A world where it never rains and where Cheetos are always an arm's length away. Put on the coffee and just let it happen -- everything else can wait. You have bingeing to take care of.

Walking on Sunshine

What if in some magical world watching TV could scientifically improve your mood when your parade gets rained on? Well, put your Snuggie on, champ, because that world is the world you live in.

Principal photography begins on Paul Hyett’s ‘Heretiks’
Paul Hyett, director of Howl and The Seasoning House, has begun principal photography on the chilling supernatural horror film Heretiks for Templeheart Films, EnMar Productions, Red Rock Entertainment and Sterling Pictures.

Set during the 17th Century, Heretiks sees a young woman saved from execution and led to a priory to repent her sins… but discovers a greater evil lies within. Michael Ironside (Total Recall, Starship Troopers, Scanners), three-time Olivier winner Clare Higgins (Hellraiser, Hellbound, The Golden Compass) and Hannah Arterton (Walking On Sunshine) star in this atmospheric horror/chiller currently shooting in Wales.

Says director and co-writer Paul Hyett:

Being a lover of classic British horror for years I’ve been wanting to give a classic period tale a modern, harder, stylish edge. Heretiks is the perfect vehicle to do this. It’s both a richly-layered medieval character piece and a wonderful chance to showcase the latest in visual...

The X Factor: 13 brilliant and bonkers auditions that make us excited for the new series
The X Factor wrapped up filming on its auditions yesterday, and you know what that means - the show's even closer to being back! And boy, what a treat we're in for if these previous auditions are anything to go by.

The audition stages always throw up some weird and wonderful acts, so we've collected just 13 of the best (and most bonkers) that remind us why we're so excited about The X Factor's return...

1. George Gerasimou (and Dermot telling him off)

Where do we even start? This is one of our favourite auditions ever. It starts off on a positive note as George explains that he has grown up since his awful try-out with Triple Trouble - but then as soon as Gary calls an early stop to the music, George kicks off big time, snarling all the while, and his mate joins him on stage to back him up.

Walking On Sunshine Review
Films like Walking on Sunshine make you think al-Qaeda might have a point after all. Like anybody else, I’ve got serious problems with the basic tenets of Islamic Fundamentalism, but it’s got to be better than this. Produced with a cynical eye towards snaring World Cup widows, this 80s jukebox musical is a stunningly accurate simulation of being manacled to a chair in a dodgy karaoke bar and forced to watch a bunch of jerks tunelessly disembowel pop standards.

Set in Italy, our heroine Taylor (Hannah Arterton) arrives on holiday to find that her big sister Maddie (Annabel Scholey) is getting married. But oh no! Maddie is getting married to Raf (Guilio Berruti), who, three years ago, was the holiday squeeze of Taylor. There’s a bunch of annoying stock types hanging around on the periphery (the fat and horny girl, the fat ‘joker’ guy and a rather awkward looking Leona Lewis) but,...

Picture it: Germany, 1989. (Yes, the first four words of this American Idol recap are inspired by The Golden Girls‘ incomparable Sophia Petrillo.)

Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff is performing a partial striptease in the one country that’s embraced his pop-star aspirations as warmly as they’ve accepted sauerkraut and spätzle on their dinner tables. He’s shaking what his mama gave him and belting some of the decade’s biggest hits: “Walking on Sunshine.” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” “Let’s Dance.”

Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002)
Which Former TV Star Performed a Killer '80s Medley on American Idol?
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002)
It was '80s night on American Idol and even though there are some very talented singers left in the competition, the performance of the night didn't belong to one of the contestants.

Making a surprise appearance on the show Wednesday, David Hasselhoff took to the stage to sing a medley of '80s hits and it was everything a "Hoff" fan could hope for.

Starting with "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen, the former Baywatch star made his way through "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves, "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley, "Do You...

Belle & Sebastian
Prepare for 'God Help the Girl' with these 5 Belle and Sebastian movie cues
Belle & Sebastian
This weekend marks the limited and VOD release of God Help the Girl, a musical from Stuart Murdoch, best known as the lead singer of Belle and Sebastian. God Help the Girl, which emerged out of a musical side project for Murdoch, follows three friends who start a band during a summer in Glasgow. It has, yes, been described as “twee,” a word now practically synonymous with Belle and Sebastian.

Belle and Sebastian’s music—cheery melodies paired with vivid, often melancholy lyrics—often feels cinematic, thanks to the band’s knack for weaving intricate mini-stories. In that way, it...

The Hey U Guys Instant Watching Guide – July 28th 2014
The Killing was an American remake from AMC based on the nordic noir show popularised over here by showings on BBC 4. The Us version moved things to Seattle where it rained constantly and revolved around the murder of Rosie Larson. Unfairly compared to Twin Peaks when it debuted, it was nonetheless something of a hit on Channel 4 for at least two seasons. I lost track of it around the mid-point of season two, not because I didn’t like it, I enjoyed it lots despite its grimness but it became impossible to keep up with the weekly scheduled showings and 4Od was, and still is not very good. From what I hear season two wrapped up the murder of Larson and season three moved on to a new mystery which was just as gripping.

The reason I mention this anyway is that like Arrested Development, Netflix has picked up...

Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie has topped the UK box office for the second weekend running.

Brendan O'Carroll's big-screen spin on his hit BBC sitcom earned £2.1 million to secure first place ahead of The Fault in Our Stars. The film has now grossed more than £9.2 million from UK and Ireland cinemas after opening on June 27.

Michael Bay's sequel is a certainty to take the number one slot next week thanks to its nine-day opening run.

The film's box office performance has outpaced recent TV-to-film adaptation Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, which opened to £2.2 million last summer.

However, Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie still falls some way short of matching the The Inbetweeners Movie, a big earner in 2011 with a £13 million first-weekend haul and £57 million in cumulative box office takings.

Elsewhere in this week's chart, new releases Chef, How to Train Your Dragon 2 (not on full release in Scotland and Ireland) and jukebox musical Walking on Sunshine all made it into the top ten.

Je t'aime à l'italienne (2014)
Walking on Sunshine review: Grease 2-style cult status beckons?
Je t'aime à l'italienne (2014)
Directors: Max Giwa, Dania Pasquini; Screenwriter: Joshua St Johnston; Starring: Hannah Arterton, Annabel Scholey, Leona Lewis, Katy Brand, Greg Wise; Running time: 97 mins; Certificate: 12A

Let's get one thing out of the way from the off. Walking on Sunshine, a jukebox musical featuring all your favourite pop hits from the '80s, can in no way be recommended to anyone under the guise of being "a good movie". The story ticks off every rom-com cliché in the book, the characters have all the appeal of third-degree sunburn, the acting frequently hits pantomime levels and the production values on both the recorded tracks and song and dance numbers leave something to be desired.

Yes, Walking on Sunshine really does make Mamma Mia! look like Citizen Kane. And yet, despite all this, you can't take your eyes off it for a second. One thing you can't accuse this film of is lacking in car-crash entertainment value.

Leona Lewis: 'It must be terrible to be One Direction'
Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, One Direction, and Louis Tomlinson
Leona Lewis has sympathised with One Direction, telling Digital Spy that it must be "terrible" to live at their level of fame.

The 'Glassheart' singer, who was label mates with the X Factor group before moving from Syco to Island, said that she couldn't deal with having fans as obsessive as Directioners.

"I've been quite lucky in that sense," she told DS. "I've never had anyone hide in a bedroom [or had] someone get into my hotel room.

"What One Direction have, that's just terrible. Oh my God, those boys. Boybands, phew, that's a whole other level [of fandom]. I'm good."

Lewis is about to be seen in her first major acting role in British musical movie Walking on Sunshine, released today (June 27).

On bracing herself for a potential critical backlash, she said: "People always want to get the claws out straight away, but I feel like this film... was so natural for me.

Walking on Sunshine Review
In the opening titles to Walking on Sunshine, a trashy musical celebrating the classic hits of the 1980s (as if we need to) – it says “directed by Max and Dania”. It’s somewhat odd not to include their surnames – but when we proceed into this rather insufferable piece of filmmaking, you can see why they were maybe a tad embarrassed to reveal their full names (it’s Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini, by the way).

Hannah Arteton (younger sister of Gemma) plays Taylor, who flies over to the beautiful coastal region of Puglia, Italy, where she is greeted by the news that her sister Maddie (Annabel Scholey) is soon to marry. Taylor had found love once here herself, and was hoping to potentially reconnect with the man who she had the intense, Summer romance with. Before she knows it, their paths do cross – but in somewhat unforeseen circumstances, as the very same man,...
