Spoiler Alert: This article discusses the “Ren Faire” finale, now streaming on Max.
Long live the king. In his search for a worthy heir to buy out his stake in the Texas Renaissance Festival, theme park founder George Coulam has put his subordinates through some dark ages. But, after weighing his options, he’s finally figured out the right person to be in charge: himself.
“None of us ever really thought that there would be someone that would take over,” says Lance Oppenheim, director and executive producer of “Ren Faire.” “There’s no world in which George could ever give it up.”
The finale of the HBO docuseries sees the octogenarian rejecting yet another multi-million-dollar offer to purchase his festival, instead electing to maintain status quo as ruler of his kingdom. In fact, everyone seems to end up close to where they were at the start of the story: a...

Bobby Cannavale (The Watcher, Blonde), Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown, Tenet) and Ruth Wilson (His Dark Materials, The Little Stranger) are teaming up for the romantic thriller Andorra, which legendary Oscar-winner James Ivory is set to exec produce.
Giuseppe Capotondi (The Burnt Orange Heresy) will direct the film from a script by Peter Cameron (What Happens at Night), adapted from his own acclaimed novel of the same name. Warning: contains spoilers for Sonic the Hedgehog #57The newest team in Sonic the Hedgehog's effort against Dr. Eggman has been established by a recently promoted member who's undoubtedly the most important character in Idw's universe. However, that's as much for what she represents as for her actions within the story. Lanolin the Sheep has taken a leadership role with 'the Restoration,' giving the series something it was sorely missing.
Although originally just a background character for five years whose biggest role involved pleading for Sonic's help in the second issue, Lanolin the Sheep has now not only put together a dream team of members who complement each other perfectly, but filled a much-needed character void in the overall continuity based on her actions in Sonic the Hedgehog #57 The issue demonstrates that Lanolin is a strong, authoritative woman, effectively replacing a major missing character fans know from Sonic's most beloved comic adaptation.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania!Loki season 2 debuts this year on Disney+, and when it does, the show is poised to bring along a Kang the Conqueror variant that has a callback to the pre-Marvel Comics era of the company. Marvel Studios has shown how much trust it has on the Loki team, as Loki season 1 was responsible for kick-starting the events that set Jonathan Majors' Kang loose to dominate the multiverse. On the show, the death of the Kang variant known as He Who Remains set things in motion for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's next chapter.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania not only introduced Kang, but also laid the setup for Loki season 2's story with the movie's second post-credits scene. In the scene, Majors appears as a Kang variant named Victor Timely. The character is shown to be speaking about time...

On a cloudy day in late October, at a chic hotel steps from the Champs Elysées, Alicia Vikander sat glued to her phone. The actress was silent, leaning back on an antique chair while her fingers tap-danced across an iPhone screen. She was idle and hard at work, making her stillness pop under the key lights and dollying camera tracking her every facial tic. While the Hotel Raphael ably played itself in this quiet scene, Vikander had more of a dual role: On set was Alicia, the Sweden-born dancer turned Hollywood star, and onscreen she was Mira, a different actress taking a break from blockbusters to shoot an auteur series in France. The echoes would hardly stop there.

This Young Justice: Phantoms review contains spoilers
Young Justice Season 4 Episode 20
For a show that took a 10 year break between seasons, Young Justice has done an admirable job of keeping up with plots going through its entire run. The theme of grief and the cost of superheroics has been there from the start, and Vandal Savage (and to a lesser degree Darkseid) have been pulling strings for basically my entire ’30s. So there’s an argument to be made that the crew should be able to weave together a cable’s worth of plot threads. But even still, holy butts, there’s a lot left to do in six episodes.
By my count, we still need to know about:
-The origin of the Legion of Superheroes (and whether it’s Jon or Conner who inspires them)-What exactly the League of Shadows is up to with their lost child reclamation...

If it looks like the Time Variance Authority, the bureaucratic organization at the center of Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” had the same architect as the Tyrell Corporation, the nefarious tech conglomerate in “Blade Runner,” that’s exactly how head writer Michael Waldron wanted it.
“It was a huge inspiration,” Waldron told TheWrap of Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi noir. “‘Blade Runner’ is one of the, if not the defining sci-fi crime thriller. And it has such style to it. I described the Tva’s aesthetic on the page as ‘Mad Men’ meets ‘Blade Runner.’ That was all I had to do. It was Kate (Herron), our director, who came in, really inspired by ‘Blade Runner’ and everything and working in conjunction with our production designer. She brought that idea to life in a really cool way and and just made it that much more real, made the Tva feel lived in.”

The God of Mischief comes to TV in the McU's time-traveling, theremin-fueled mix of Catch Me If You Can, The Adjustment Bureau, and Tenet. Loki has Tom Hiddleston's duplicitous Asgardian running afoul of the Time Variance Authority (Tva). The premiere episode answers what happened to Loki after his escape during the "time heist" in Avengers: Endgame. The show has Loki addressing his misdeeds while still being a conniving trickster. Loki sets up intriguing possibilities for the character, but doesn't seem to have the creativity or thematic heft of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Fans looking for a more direct comic book adaptation will be pleased.
Loki opens immediately after he steals the Tesseract in the 2012 lobby of Avengers tower. But before he can snarkily resume his humanity conquering, he gets a visit from B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) and an ass-kicking squad of Minutemen, temporal patrol officers from the Time Variance Authority.

And you may ask yourself, “Am I right? Am I wrong?” And you may say to yourself, “My God! What have I done?”
Anticipation for Marvel’s Loki has been sky high ever since the show was first announced. WandaVision broke hearts and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier broke boundaries, but Loki has promised to break our brains with a sprawling, time travel-heavy plot that might have massive consequences for the MCU multiverse in upcoming entries like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Make no mistake, there’s a ton of complex stuff going down in the first episode of Loki, but as Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius cheerily tells the baffled God of Mischief as the first episode unfolds: “you’ll catch up.”

It should only take a few minutes before “Loki” viewers know whether they’re down for what the show is serving up or too tired of the Marvel Cinematic Universe machine to follow this chapter of its increasingly complex saga. The new Disney Plus show — the third under Marvel’s burgeoning TV offshoot — opens with dashing villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in the Avengers’ custody circa the 2012 movie that first brought the team together. In this version of those events, however, Loki manages to escape — thus upending the reality in which the character eventually dies at the hands of Thanos and freeing him up to anchor a show all his own.
Unfortunately for this Loki, his spontaneous getaway gambit sends him straight into the path of an armored guard (Wunmi Mosaku) who stares him down and declares that, “on behalf of the Time Variants Authority, I hereby arrest you for crimes against The Sacred Timeline.

Created by Michael Waldron for the streaming service, Loki once again features Tom Hiddleston as an alternate version of the titular God of Mischief who is tasked with fixing the timeline.
We begin with Brandon Katz, Observer, who praised the series for being Marvel's first purely entertaining show after the heavy-hitting WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, calling Loki a "a cheeky action comedy" as opposed to the mystery box undertakings of the former or the more contemporary themes of the latter.

When I asked Béla Tarr if he ever suspected that his seven-hour “Sátántangó” would resonate 25 years after it first screened at the 1994 Berlinale, the semi-retired Hungarian filmmaker hunched forward in his chair and responded with the raspy, “who gives a fuck?” grumble of a barfly at last call: “I’m not prophetic,” he grinned, revealing a well-punctuated set of teeth. “I was just an ugly, poor filmmaker. I still am. I don’t have power. I don’t have anything — just a fucking camera.”
When it comes to auteurs who look as if they could be characters in their own movies, the 64-year-old Tarr has to be near the top of the list, somewhere between Wes Anderson and Clint Eastwood. I met him on a brittle February afternoon, when he sagged through the lobby doors of Berlin’s Savoy hotel in a thick winter coat and a sour cloud of cigarette smoke.

Based on their outstanding careers forged on international co-productions, 24 up-and-coming players in the European film industry have been selected to take part in European Film Promotion's (Efp) networking platform Producers on the Move. Now in its 15th year, Efp spotlights emerging European producers at the Cannes Film Festival from May 17-19 and helps them embark on successful cooperation with their similarly ambitious Producers on the Move colleagues from all over Europe.
The programas been financially supported by the Media Program (2007-2013) of the European Union and the participating Efp member organizations who each made a careful selection of their national participants according to specific criteria.
The schedule of Producers on the Move includes working sessions, one-to-one speed-dating meetings and various opportunities to exchange knowledge and follow up discussions on future projects. In addition, Efp will be teaming up with the European cultural channel Arte and the pan-European co-production fund Eurimages for Producers on the Move. For the first time, Eurimages has prepared a case study exclusively for Efp's program to be discussed under the direction of Eurimages Executive Director Roberto Olla.
He points out the importance of programs such as Producers on the Move:
“This is the 4th consecutive year that Eurimages is involved with this initiative which perfectly marries our objectives of encouraging co-operation between producers so as to stimulate cinematographic co-productions and of promoting their international distribution. Further to the success of the collaboration at the Cannes Festival, the Eurimages Fund has strengthened its partnership with European Film Promotion through other initiatives which also seek to unite professionals from the European film industry in order to participate in its development on an international level.”
Looking back at previous editions, Efp's programme results each year in several new trans-national co-productions and gives the producers a higher profile in Cannes. For 2013, almost all of the participants are still in contact with one another and 17 co-productions are in development.
One recent success story is the coming-of-age feature The Word, directed by Anna Kazejak and co-produced by two Producers on the Move from 2011, Lukasz Dzieciol(Opus Film, Poland) and Jesper Morthorst (Sf Film Production, Denmark). The film was released in Poland in March after its premiere at the Berlinale in the Generation sidebar.
Currently in post is Dirk Ohm - The Illusionist That Disappeared, directed by Bobbie Peers. The producer Maria Ekerhovd (Mer Film As, Norway), joined forces for this film with her Producers on the Move colleague from 2011, Gian-Piero Ringel (Neue Road Movies, Germany) and the 2010 Producers on the Move, Lizette Jonjic (Migma Film, Sweden). Norway has scheduled the release for September 2014. Ekerhovd and Ringel also worked together for two further projects: Every Thing Will Be Fine by Wim Wenders and the six episodes for Cathedrals of Culture which have been presented at this year’s Berlinale.

Jean Dujardin had a solid career in France before his work in the 2011 film The Artist earned him a Best Oscar statue in 2012. And that win probably helped him land supporting gigs in films such as The Wolf of Wall Street and Monuments Men. But he’s got a couple other films in the […]

While the initial, "Inception"-y trailer for "Möbius" was pretty exciting, it was a disappointment to find out that the resulting thriller ultimately wasn't so hot. Our review out of the Tribeca Flim Festival last year called the picture "story-heavy" and "nakedly superficial," which is a bummer considering the international ensemble pulled together for this one. But if you want to see for yourself, the movie is coming to home video and a new trailer is here to set it all up for you. Starring Jean Dujardin, Cécile De France, Tim Roth and Émilie Dequenne, writer/director Éric Rochant's film follows a Russian operative trying to crack an international money laundering scheme. But that's just the start of double crosses, intrigue, sex and beautiful people doing bad, beautiful things. Certainly, this looks slicker than you might expect, and again, the talent is hard to deny. So perhaps this is one...

The Sundance hit Toy’s House that has been retitled to the more generic and less interesting title of The Kings of Summer gets its first full-length trailer. Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts from a script written by Chris Galletta, a crowd-pleasing, coming-of-age, comedy sensation follows three teenage boys (Robinson, Basso and Arias) as they head into the wilderness with a plan to build a house and live off the land. Beautiful and dark and also funny, the picture stars Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso, Moises Arias, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, Alison Brie and Mary Lynn Rajskub. The Kings of Summer is scheduled for a summer release in...

You already had a chance to watch the first teaser and full trailer for the upcoming action-thriller Mobius, which comes from director Eric Rochant and has quite interesting cast on board. Today, we’re here to share some great images from the whole thing, and here’s your perfect chance to take a better look at Jean Dujardin, Cécile De France and Tim Roth who will lead us through this pretty intense spy-story.
Written and directed by Eric Rochant, the movie centers on a Fsb officer named Moise who falls in love with his agent Alice – an American woman who works as a trader in a Russian bank.
Beside Jean Dujardin who plays Moise and Cécile De France who stars as Alice, the rest of the Mobius cast also includes Tim Roth and Émilie Dequenne. The movie is already set to hit French theaters on February 27th, 2013.

A new full trailer has been released for the Luc Besson produced heist thriller Möbius. I enjoy watching heist films, and this looks like it's going to be a good one. The story takes place in Monaco, is set in the world of high finance, and follows an Fsb officer who falls in love with his agent, an American woman who works as a trader in a Russian bank. The movie stars Jean Dujardin (The Artist) as "an experienced spy tracking a powerful Russian oligarch," Tim Roth plays a man "suspected of laundering money through his bank," and Cécile de France takes on the role of "a bright young trader."
The film was written and directed by Eric Rochant (Love Without Pity, Long Live the Republic, "Mafiosa"). Mobius definitely looks like an intriguing film that I'd enjoy watching. There's no release date set yet for the U.S., but it...

International intrigue and espionage ... The Artist star Jean Dujardin has already tackled this world in comedic style with the Oss 117 films but he's giving it a serious spin now with Eric Rochant's Möbius, a Luc Besson produced thriller due to hit French screens in February. Tim Roth stars opposite as Dujardin's nemesis though who's really on which side is very much up in the air, in keeping with the twisty title of the film. The first teaser arrived back in November and has now been followed by a full trailer. Check it below....

The first full-length trailer for the EuropaCorp dramatic-thriller, Möbius has debuted, following the first teaser in November.
If you probably haven’t heard of the movie, I think it would be very high on your list to see. Despite the fact the trailer is partially in English, Russian and French, with French subtitles and the film doesn’t have a Us distributor yet.
Set in Monaco, this Inception-esque spy film stars Oscar winning actor Jean Dujardin, alongside an excellent cast including Cécile de France, Tim Roth, and Emilie Dequenne.
Both written and directed by French filmmaker Eric Rochant (Mafiosa) Möbius hits theaters in France on February 27th. The script is based on the idea/involving the infamous ‘Möbius strip’ concept developed by German mathematician August Ferdinand Möbius.

"If you're sleeping with intelligence agents, it's very much my business." A second trailer for the intriguing international heist thriller Möbius has recently debuted, following that first teaser in November. Before then, I'd never heard about this film, now it's very high on my list to see. French Oscar winning actor Jean Dujardin, of The Artist, stars in this Inception-esque spy film set in Monaco. This trailer is also tri-lingual - it's partially in English, Russian and French, with French subtitles. Tim Roth & Cécile De France also star. This actually looks pretty good. Basically, Dujardin sleeps with everyone, stirs up some trouble. Enjoy! Led by Jean Dujardin, Mobius will be hitting theatres in France and Belgium at the end of next month, and the EuropaCorp dramatic-thriller has been earning a strong international presence, with plenty of interest from our shores as well as the States.
We saw a very promising first teaser trailer back in November last year, and now the studio have released the first full-length trailer giving us another good look at the high-stakes thriller.
“Grégory Lyubov, a Russian intelligence officer, is sent to Monaco to monitor the actions of a powerful businessman. As part of this mission, the team recruits Alice, a gifted financer. Suspecting his betrayal, Gregory will break the golden rule and contact with Alice, his undercover agent. A passion arises between them that will not inevitably hasten their downfall.”
[N.B. The above is the official French synopsis that’s been put through Google Translate.]

An interesting Inception-like teaser trailer has hit the internet for a heist thriller called Mobius.
One of the most interesting aspects of the film is that it's based on the Möbius strip idea developed by German mathematician August Ferdinand Möbius. The Möbius Strip is described a "a non-orientable two-dimensional surface with only one side when embedded in three-dimensional Euclidean space." You can read more about it here.

French thriller called Mobius is based on the idea of the Möbius strip, a non-orientable two-dimensional surface with only one side when embedded in three-dimensional Euclidean space. Whoa!
Don’t’ be afraid of math, the concept is used to illustrate an idea for a heist . Well, the teaser for Eric Rochant‘s film is very intriguing, not the least of which is trying so hard to imitate Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster Inception dramatic trailers.
Last year’s Best Actor winner Jean Dujardin is taking the lead as the Fsb officer who is tracking Tim Roth’s character, a Russian oligarch suspected of money laundering through his bank. Cécile De France stars in the female lead, an American agent who works as a trader in a Russian bank.

With that opening line, at first I thought this could be a Funny or Die sketch ("do you know what a piece of paper is?") but this looks like it might be pretty damn interesting. So how exactly does the Möbius strip connect with a casino heist? Watch the first teaser trailer for Eric Rochant's Mobius, originally from Allocine: Taking place in Monaco, Oscar winner Jean Dujardin (The Artist) plays "an experienced spy tracking a powerful Russian oligarch (played by Tim Roth...

[Updated with new trailer embed.] As someone explains the concept of a Möbius strip, the heavy-handed music begins pounding. Then Jean Dujardin is revealed, looking worn and haggard (i.e. the exact opposite of what audiences might expect next from the star of The Artist). Welcome to the teaser for Möbius, written and directed by Eric Rochant, a thriller due out in February 2013 -- and not to be confused with Lynn Ramsay's Mobius, a science-fiction version of Moby Dick currently in development. This particular Möbius concerns an officer of the Fsb (an acronym for the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation) who falls in love with a woman who works at a Russian bank. High finance and money laundering seem to be topics of...

Starring Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Cécile De France (Switchblade Romance), and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs) in the leads, Möbius has debuted its first teaser trailer and poster, giving a very good first impression for the thriller.
Produced by Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp, the first teaser trailer is coming our way via AlloCiné, and with a French release date set for early 2013, we’re hoping that it won’t be long before it arrives on our shores, either.
“A Fsb officer fall in love with his agent, an American woman who works as a trader in a Russian bank.”
Dujardin is taking the lead as the Fsb officer, with Roth starring as a Russian oligarch suspected of money laundering. De France stars in the female lead (the original synopsis describes the role as being for an American, but that may have changed with De France’s casting).
Éric Rochant (Mafiosa) is directing from his own script,...

The great Tim Roth is seen far less often than I’d like — if anything’s to blame, I say we should single out Lie to Me — yet it seems as though he’s making a gradual, respectable transition back to the silver screen. The next six months or so, in and of itself, should bring Arbitrage (which we liked when it played Sundance) and, hopefully, Broken, a promising-sounding drama that also stars Cillian Murphy and Rory Kinnear. Not bad for someone who fell off the feature map years ago, right?
Variety now says he’ll play off a recent Oscar winner, having been signed for the spy thriller Möbius. Leading the proceedings will be the Artist himself, Jean Dujardin, as well as French favorite Cécile De France (High Tension, Hereafter); Eric Rochant has written the script and will handle directing duties. Reportedly set in “the world of high finance,...
