While the film industry might have grown accustomed to this delay, fans certainly have not and are quick to display their anger. Recently, an upcoming Lotr film has become the subject of fans’ anger.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is utilizing a worrisome strategy to attract fans of Peter Jackson's trilogy, but it might be necessary after the lackluster performance of The War of the Rohirrim. Warner Bros. is proving its commitment to expanding its Lord of the Rings franchise, with War of the Rohirrim bringing J.R.R. Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies cut a major event from the source material, but The Hunt for Gollum could reveal how to adapt it in the future. Warner Bros. announced The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum in May, and the movie is slated to hit theaters in 2026. Not many story details have been officially revealed, but 2026's Gollum movie is confirmed to take place during The Fellowship of the Ring's timeline. Based on what we know, it will likely see Gandalf and Aragorn attempting to track down Gollum after he's captured by Sauron.
This is a search that happens in J.R.R. Tolkien's books, but Jackson's Fellowship of the Ring movie condenses everything between Bilbo's birthday party and Frodo departing from the Shire. The fact that the upcoming Gollum movie will detail unseen events in retrospect offers hope that another incident cut...

The former NBC sitcom A.P. Bio has a robust cast full of hilarious main and supporting characters. Mike O'Brien of Saturday Night Live acclaim created the original sitcom, which first premiered on February 1, 2018. The show is centered around professor turned high-school teacher Jack Griffin, who is played by Glenn Howerton of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. A.P. Bio follows Jack as he transitions from being a philosophy professor at Harvard University to an A.P. Biology teacher at his hometown high school after falling from grace due to a YouTube video.
A.P. Bio ran for two seasons on NBC before moving to Peacock for its final two seasons. The series was canceled twice even though it maintained an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 88%, with its second and third seasons earning perfect 100% critic scores. Despite the positive reviews of A.P. Bio, there was not enough consistent viewership for the series to continue past four seasons.

The Penguin‘s visionary lead director, Craig Zobel, has signed a new multi-year, first-look deal at HBO.
The Emmy nominee helmed the first three episodes of the Gothic crime drama, helping establish the visual language of the series, as well as serving as an executive producer.
The Penguin started strong out of the gate with an acclaimed pilot and gradually became one of the network’s biggest hits in years, with its series premiere having racked up a cumulative 18 million U.S. viewers.
Zobel previously told The Hollywood Reporter that he kicked off his relationship with the show by writing Reeves a fan letter about The Batman. “I happened to have his email,” he said. “So I reached out to say, ‘Hey, not for nothing, [The Batman] was the superhero movie I wanted to see right now. You killed it.’ That was my first time saying anything to Matt at all.

John Rhys-Davies shares the one condition needed for him to return in The Lord of the Rings' next movie. The franchise is set to continue with The Hunt for Gollum, as Andy Serkis directs the project and reprises his role as the titular character. Ian McKellen is also returning to play Gandalf in The Hunt for Gollum and in another live-action The Lord of the Rings movie that is currently in development. With Serkis and McKellen back, there is room for other actors to return as well, which could include Rhys-Davies playing Gimli once more.
While speaking with Collider, Rhys-Davies revealed that he "might indeed" return to play Gimli, but only if CGI is used. He explained that he no longer wants to go through the extensive and time-consuming process of putting on the Gimli prosthetic and makeup that was used during The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man features many great and memorable characters, who stick with fans for life. From the iconic designs to their catchphrases, the characters not only entertain us but also provide a strange comfort with their stories. Seeing the characters move forward irrespective of the tragedies they’ve faced is admirable.

Additionally, Fujimoto’s representation is extremely realistic as he shows the characters fumbling as well. One of the best characters in that respect is Kishibe. He seems generally tired and fed up with everything, but shows hints of care and consideration. He’s undeniably a great character and resembles a renowned actor, who might have served as the inspiration behind him.

Netflix has released the first images of their upcoming western series, American Primeval, which looks as brutal as it was promised to be. The show stars Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin, capturing a fictionalized version of the beginning of the American West, and all the blood spilled throughout. It's too early to tell if Netflix has a hit on their hands, but it's safe to say that they have gone above and beyond to deliver an epic take on the Western genre with American Primeval.
American Primeval, a six-episode limited series, comes from the minds of director Peter Berg, writer Mark L. Smith, and showrunner/executive producer Eric Newman. Kitsch reunites with Berg after previously collaborating on Lone Survivor, a visceral action film based on the true story of soldiers on a perilous mission during the war in Afghanistan. He also directed the 2016 disaster masterpiece Deepwater Horizon, now streaming for free.

Between his two excellent Mads Mikkelsen-led dramas, The Hunt (2012) and Another Round (2020), Thomas Vinterberg has established himself as one of the finest filmmaking talents to come out of the Scandinavian region. His films exemplify the best of Danish artistic and cultural sensibilities, with their melancholic tones, dealing with deeply intense personal themes, yet not without slivers of hope and humor throughout.

The Lord of the Rings is taking a leap of faith with its 2026 movie, risking the legacy of its former successes, but one Sauron change could make it truly brilliant. Andy Serkis will direct and star in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum movie. The movie will concern Aragorn and Gandalf's pursuit of Gollum around the time of the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and will show Gollum's perspective. Copying Amazon's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in the Sauron department could work wonders.
In some ways, Warner Bros. releasing a new set of Lord of the Rings movies is the safest move in the world. Few franchises are more globally beloved or likely to storm the box office. In this sense, sticking to the formula tried and tested by the previous trilogies may be attractive.

Not so long ago, we announced that a new film was officially set for release in 2026 and that Peter Jackson would return to The Lord of the Rings franchise, although in the role of producer.
The name of the film quickly became clear: it was The Hunt for Gollum. Additionally, we learned that Andy Serkis would not only be directing the film but would also be reprising his iconic role. All of this is part of a bigger plan to revive The Lord of the Rings film series and build on Jackson’s original films.
So, a return to Middle-earth is imminent and we cannot wait for the movie to come out, but since we still have a long way to go, we don’t have too much information at this point.

The Lord of the Rings fans shouldnt expect to see Hugo Weaving return as Elrond in any of the upcoming movies. The actor told GamesRadar+ while speaking about his latest role in Slow Horses that he has had enough of that.
It was great being in New Zealand on and off for a 10-year period. I did go back and work with the same team on a project called Mortal Engines which was going to be their next big franchise, but it died on its arse, said the actor who played Elrond. When it comes to game development, variety is always a blessing and a sight to see, especially when veteran devs are the ones who are spreading their wings into new genres within the games they are already developing.
In this list, we will talk about a few different examples where veteran devs created a game familiar to players but added a small twist that many players didn’t see coming.
5. Digital Extremes – Warframe Warframe fits into so many categories its hard to list. Image Credit: Digital Extremes
I have included this as the first point in this list as Digital Extremes have done a fantastic job working on Warframe over the past 11 years as it has expanded from a simple game in which players could use multiple weapons to complete certain missions.
However, throughout these many years, Digital Extremes has managed to expand Warframe into numerous different genres, even if only in small missions.

As the nation of ~6 million people prepares to leave their homes, high school student Laura must choose between her divorced parents and the boy she's fallen in love with. It's a clever flip on the refugee crisis the world is experiencing already - what if wealthy, white people in Denmark had to flee their homes and move to other countries. What would happen? Yellowjackets is adding some more star power to its third season.
The Paramount+ With Showtime series, produced by Lionsgate Television, has cast two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank in a recurring role. Details on her character are being kept under wraps for now, although she’ll make her first appearance in the latter stages of the season. The show is currently filming season three in Vancouver.
Swank is the second high-profile actor to join Yellowjackets for its coming season; Joel McHale was cast in a guest role in August. As is the case with Swank, there’s no word yet on who McHale is playing, or whether either actor will show up in the series’ 1996 or 2021 timelines (though the latter seems more likely).

Blumhouse has become a staple in the horror movie genre, creating classics for movie audiences on a regular basis. Fan-favorite films like Get Out, M3gan, Hush, The Invisible Man, and even a recent reboot of Speak No Evil are all massive critical successes for the company. But with every future Blumhouse horror hit comes a few misses.
The 'misses' are not bad films, per se, but simply didn't get the critical attention they deserved. Theres always going to be a few big swings that dont end up hitting with fans, but even some of the less-positively reviewed films can still make an impact. Even when Rotten Tomatoes declares a film 'rotten,' fans often still show support for these guilty pleasures.

In March 2022, Craig Zobel returned home from seeing Matt Reeves’ The Batman during its opening weekend, and he immediately emailed the filmmaker to express his admiration for the superhero crime drama. Mind you, the Emmy-nominated director behind 2021’s Mare of Easttown and 2020’s controversial horror satire The Hunt didn’t know Reeves in the slightest, but this type of gesture is fairly common in the entertainment industry. (Margot Robbie, who starred in Zobel’s Z for Zachariah, initiated her casting in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood by writing her own fan letter to Quentin Tarantino.)
So when it came time to hire directors for Reeves and showrunner Lauren LeFranc’s The Batman spinoff series, The Penguin, starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, Zobel likes to think that Reeves potentially took note of that email before blessing his hiring as director and executive producer.
“I happened to have his email.

I hope The Lord of the Rings franchise is not repeating a previous mistake with The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum. Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in The Lord of the Rings and in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, will serve as The Hunt for Gollum's director, with Peter Jackson also attached as a producer. The movie is slated for a 2026 release and is expected to feature Serkis reprising the role of Gollum in a story that takes place before the events in The Fellowship of the Ring.
Another familiar franchise actor already attached to the project is Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf in each of The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. McKellen shared that he had been approached to play the beloved wizard again and later mentioned that he was told The Hunt for Gollum will be two movies. This development has not yet been officially confirmed,...
