Monday is looking a little different to normal tonight, Monday, March 10. Only a little, though, as one of the broadcast networks is off the usual schedule.
CBS is opting for a night of specials and reruns. This isn’t too surprising when you consider the need to spread out episodes of TV shows. However, it is disappointing for those who were ready for new comedy or the NCIS franchise.
The Bachelor, Rescue: Hi-Surf, and more
ABC is ready to bring more reality TV. We start off with two hours of The Bachelor, and it’s time for “The Women Tell All.” This is a chance for the women of The Bachelor to share their side of the story of the events that happened. Usually, it’s the time the next Bachelorette is announced, but we’re not expecting that to happen this year, as there won’t be a season...

After a rough few years in the broadcast landscape, the 2024-25 season has brought in some rays of hope.
To be sure, the long-term structural challenges for network TV remain in a world where streaming is the default platform for the largest share of viewers and ongoing corporate consolidation continues to shrink the number of potential suppliers (and buyers) of shows. But several network shows have achieved breakout status in the past year, and each of the big four broadcasters (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC) can claim at least one success story among their crop of first-year series. The fact that networks are also the primary suppliers of the long-running, deep-library shows that keep streaming services humming also seems to have sunk in across the industry.

Whether you’re in the mood for reality or scripted, there’s something to watch across broadcast TV networks tonight, Monday, March 3.

The CW also continues reruns after new episodes of All American, and it looks like the network is preparing for the return of another show.

The best Chad Michael Murray movies and TV shows include a mix of young adult releases, and in recent years, more adult drama fare. Murray got his start as an actor after he graduated from high school and won a modeling scholarship, which helped him pick up an agent. He moved to California and quickly earned a role in the MTV drama series Undressed. This helped lead to his breakout role on The Gilmore Girls as Tristin DuGray.
After another recurring role in Dawson’s Creek, Murray’s popularity exploded when he grabbed one of the leading roles in One Tree Hill. This also led to several film roles, mostly in young adult movies like Freaky Friday and A Cinderella Story. He hasn’t slowed down since aging out of many of those young adult releases, earning some great roles in movies like Fruitvale Station and TV shows like Marvel’s Agent Carter and Sullivan’s Crossing.

One Tree Hill was one of the defining teen dramas of the early 2000s. Although it lasted nine seasons, it ended while it still had millions of viewers.
That explains why there’s been a lot of enthusiasm about a comeback season of the WB-turned-cw drama.

The brand new sixth season of Virgin River is now streaming on Netflix, and chances are you've already watched all 10 episodes by now. Is that all? Nope! You have nothing to worry about because Virgin River season 7 has already been confirmed. Netflix announced the show's renewal back in October 2024.
An official release date hasn't been announced for the seventh season, but it will likely be released sometime in 2025. A new season of the romantic drama series has come out every year since it first premiered. One of the show's stars, Tim Matheson, revealed in a recent interview that production on Virgin River season 7 will begin in March 2025.
Unless there are serious delays in the filmmaking process, we can expect a late 2025 or early 2026 release. However, if Netflix wants to keep up with its pattern of releasing a new season every year, then the streamer will most likely drop season 7 by the end of next year.

Sullivan’s Crossing is a charming addition to the contemporary television environment, based on Robyn Carr’s bestselling novel series. It encapsulates the charm of small-town life while addressing personal challenges and relationship complexities, making it a series that resonates with Virgin River fans. Set against the scenic background of Timberlake, Nova Scotia, the show provides a reassuring yet fascinating narrative that immerses viewers in the complexities of its characters’ lives.
At its heart, Sullivan’s Crossing follows Maggie Sullivan’s journey as she returns to her birthplace to face familial commitments and romantic challenges. The series expertly balances the warmth of community with the tension of unresolved relationships, making it a fascinating mirror of modern fears about belonging and identity.
Sullivan’s Crossing enables us to immerse ourselves in the emotional landscapes of its characters while also reflecting bigger societal trends that emphasize the significance of home and the bonds that bind us.

Chad Michael Murray may not be returning to One Tree Hill.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, published Wednesday, the Merry Gentlemen star was asked about reports of the upcoming reboot of the hit teen show he starred on for seven seasons.
When Murray heard the news, he said he spoke with his former co-star James Lafferty, who played his onscreen half-brother, Nathan Scott, on the show.
“We’re not doing it because no one’s ever picked up the phone and said, ‘Hey, we’re doing this,’ so we’re not doing it,” he said.
However, he was happy about the prospect of the series returning: “I want it for the fans.”
In another interview with E! News, Murray also said of the show, “This experience that I’ve gotten like the privilege of being able to experience over the course of the last 24 years is incredible.

T’is the season — for male strippers? Yes, actually. Yes indeed.
Netflix’s new Christmas movie “The Merry Gentlemen” is now streaming, telling story of a young dancer who comes home to find that her parents’ business — and thus, her whole childhood, essentially — may be going under. The movie features a lot of familiar faces, but perhaps some new ones for you too. So, we’ve got you covered.
Here are all the major players in “The Merry Gentlemen.”

The CW is undergoing layoffs, as owner Nexstar seeks to “transform” the network “to reach a broader and larger audience, continue our march to profitability, and continue to position The CW for long term success,” CW chief Brad Schwartz wrote in a note to employees Tuesday.
In a statement, a Nexstar spokesperson said that “the CW continues to streamline and simplify the organization as we continue to transform the network to reach a broader audience, achieve profitability, and position the business for long-term success.”
“Saying good-bye to valued colleagues is not something we take lightly, and we intend to conduct this process thoughtfully,” the rep continued. “We also are committed to managing through this period of unprecedented change in the media industry to build a business that will thrive.”

Updated with statement and Brad Schwartz’s memo: Layoffs are underway at the CW. According to sources, as many as 35 people have been let go, with scripted development and PR particularly hard hit.
While SVP communications Beth Feldman and VP Rob Moynihan are said to be staying, the entire team under them has been laid off, I hear. The scripted department is said to be completely gutted, including department head, SVP Liz Wise Lyall. Also impacted are unscripted, including No.2, VP Betsy Slenzak, and marketing.
The latest round of cuts comes on the heels of a change at the helm of the CW, with Dennis Miller stepping down as president after two years. The network’s President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz, who succeed him, addressed the layoffs in a memo to staff (You can read it in full below).

The CW is the latest victim of industry-wide layoffs, with over two dozen employees at the network impacted across its scripted programming and PR divisions. CW president Brad Schwartz called the staff cuts “one of the hardest decisions a company can make,” while emphasizing they set up the network to continue “to reach a broader and larger audience, continue our march to profitability, and continue to position The CW for long term success.”
“Saying goodbye to talented friends and colleagues is painful and deeply personal, and I know that each of these individuals has been a vital part of who we are,” Schwartz said in a note to staff. “We are making these changes not because they are easy, but because we believe they are necessary to build a stronger future for The CW.”
