Roadside Attractions, Lionsgate, and Ld Entertainment have revealed the official trailer for Kiss of the Spider Woman, which is set to open in theaters on October 10, 2025.

Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon returns to the movie musical in this dazzling Technicolor-hued fantasy. In the film, Valentín (Diego Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency.

The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez). Kiss of the Spider Woman is based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical hit.

Japan Society has announced the full lineup for the 18th edition of Japan Cuts: Festival of New Japanese Film at the organization’s New York headquarters.

The festival, now powered by title sponsor Gu, will showcase 30 films across 11 days, featuring two world premieres, nine North American premieres, and 10 New York premieres.

Leading this year’s guest roster, legendary filmmaker Kurosawa Kiyoshi will be honored with the 2025 Cut Above Award for outstanding achievement in film. Widely regarded as one of Japan’s most influential living directors, Kurosawa is known for modern classics including “Tokyo Sonata,” “Cure” and “Pulse.” The festival will present premieres of his latest works — psychological thriller “Cloud” and “Serpent’s Path,” a reimagining of his own 1998 original.

The festival will also welcome acclaimed actress Yuumi Kawai, this year’s best actress winner at the Japan Academy Film Prize for her performance in “A Girl Named Ann.” Kawai will attend...

Yul Vazquez has joined the cast of another TV series!

The 60-year-old actor will be featured in a major recurring role in the third season of ABC’s Will Trent, according to TV Line.

Yul‘s first appearance will be in the penultimate episode, which is set to air Next Tuesday, May 6th.

Even though Carry-On was planned as a standalone movie, no one can ignore the massive success that the film achieved on Netflix, and fans have started wondering if we're witnessing the birth of a franchise. I guess it’s true that the boots make the man, and NCIS: Origins has got one hell of a man in Mike Franks. Are we still sure Gibbs is the protagonist of this series?

It seems like the show is doing the smart thing and giving audiences what they want, and that’s more of fan-favorite Mike Franks. Can you blame us? The mustache alone makes the character iconic.

Still, as far as episodes go, this was probably the weakest one of NCIS: Origins. I’m not saying it was bad, but this one was light on the drama compared to earlier episodes.

Oscar-winning Sundance Film Festival veteran Bill Condon returned to Park City to present the world premiere of his new movie musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman, at Eccles Center Theatre on Sunday night. When it was over and all the credits had rolled, his star Jennifer Lopez was moved to tears, the capacity crowd delivered two standing ovations and a star was born thanks to a revelatory turn from Tonatiuh.

Considering the pedigree of its filmmaker — Condon previously directed musicals Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast and wrote the Oscar-winning Chicago — and its global superstar who plays dual roles including the title character, Spider Woman was the most anticipated debut of Sundance this year. There's sad news for fans of The Chosen on January 30 as the blessed series is departing Prime Video for the Promised Land. It's fair to say the show has grown into a cultural phenomenon, drawing acclaim for the way it has humanised the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples but, while the news of the removal from Prime Video is a blow, the good news is there's still plenty to look forward to. Now, looking ahead, The Chosen has a big year to come — and a big week to portray.

Based on true events, Göteborg opening film “Safe House” – about a group of people trying to survive in a hospital in conflict-torn Bangui in 2013 – could be a harrowing watch. But lead actor Kristine Kujath Thorp found hope in the story.

“What really stuck with me was that even though the world is a very complicated place, most people want good, they want love and to live in peace. It’s just a few bloody bastards at the top. If only a few men can do such harm, think of what we could do if we weren’t so indifferent and stood together,” she told Variety.

Sheriff Country gets a big update, as lead star Morena Baccarin shares photos from the set. The first Fire Country spinoff will see Baccarin reprise the role of Mickey Fox, the step-sister of Sharon (Diane Farr) and a Sheriff's Sergeant. Although she has only appeared in a single episode of the main series so far, Mickey will soon step into the spotlight.

Baccarin shared some photos from the set of Sheriff Country, showing the Deadpool & Wolverine star standing and posing with Farr. The photos also show the dark exterior, with the two actors seemingly filming in the woods. It may bring to mind a scene from Baccarin's appearance in Fire Country, with Mickey and Sharon running in the woods. The caption, in any case, reads: “TV sisters and more!!! Can’t wait to see what’s coming for us!

The Matagi are traditional hunter communities in Japan, known for their deep connection with nature, sustainable hunting practices, and unique cultural heritage. They originated in the mountainous regions of northern Japan, particularly in the Tohoku and Hokkaido areas. Following the rollout of their more traditional holiday fare, Netflix is heading into “Die Hard” territory with the release of their Christmas-set action movie “Carry-On” — and it’s got a cast full of familiar faces.

Directed by “The Shallows” and “Non-Stop” filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra, the film follows a Tsa agent and wannabe cop who gets his chance to bring down the bad guys when a mysterious traveler blackmails him to get a dangerous package through airport security.

Taron Egerton plays Tsa agent Ethan Kopek, who gets blackmailed into helping a criminal sneak a mystery bag onto a plane. Egerton’s best-known roles include Eggsy in the “Kingsman” films, Elton John in “Rocketman” and the voice of Johnny in the animated “Sing” movies.

All right, everyone can pick their jaws off of the floor. We wanted some answers, and NCIS: Origins threw us the absolute best curve balls.

For one, we finally know how Lala’s story is entangled with Gibbs’s. And we really got some answers about where things were headed regarding Gibbs’ revenge. That’s all the subtlety I had left in me.

I’m just going to say it now: this was by far the best episode of NCIS: Origins. Any time a show can make me audibly gasp, it’s a win in my book.

Holy crap, that was quite the deep dive into parts of Randy previously unknown. Is it me, or does every Nis team member seem to be struggling with one personal issue after another?

NCIS: Origins has a firm grip on emotionally intelligent tough guys. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many gun-toting male characters cry, and I love it.

John Krasinski and Matthew Rhys are set to executive produce and star in “Silent River,” a new psychological thriller ordered by Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video.

According to the official logline, the project, which is seen through the lens of two men whose lives are far more more connected than they realize, explores the cracks of small-town America in the wake of discovering a serial killer among them.

“Silent River” is created by Aaron Rabin, who serves as an executive producer. In addition to Krasinski, Rhys and Rabin, Allyson Seeger and Alexa Ginsburg will executive produce for Sunday Night. Krasinski is set to direct the show’s pilot and some additional episodes. Andrew Bernstein is also set to direct and executive produce.

In addition to the series order, Sunday Night has renewed its first-look television deal with Amazon MGM Studios.

Tonatiuh recently wrapped filming the lead role of Molina in “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” directed by Bill Condon, opposite Jennifer Lopez and Diego Luna.

The film, produced by Artists Equity and Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions, is based on Manuel Puig’s critically acclaimed and bestselling 1976 novel. “Kiss of the Spider Woman is set in an Argentinian prison in 1981. Lopez stars as the titular role, a fantasy woman named Aurora created by Luis Molina (Tonatiuh), a queer window dresser serving an eight-year sentence for allegedly corrupting a minor. To escape the horrors of his imprisonment, Molina imagines movies starring Aurora as a classic silver screen diva, including a role of the spider woman, who kills her prey with a kiss. Molina forms an unlikely bond with his cellmate, a Marxist, Valentin Arregui Paz (Luna).

“It’s a very special musical,” Lopez told Variety in May.

Well, ladies and gents, I’d say Christmas came early, but I’m still trying to figure out what exactly NCIS: Origins gave audiences. We thought we were getting answers but were left with questions.

Truthfully, the case in this episode was a particularly difficult one to follow. If I have it right, a guy who worked for the government was tricked into giving away military weapon schematics.

However, the actual plot of NCIS: Origins was almost entirely about Special Agent Lala Dominguez. It only took six episodes, but we finally got some insight into the character.

How do you take an already ridiculously attractive cast like the stars of NCIS: Origins and make them even shinier? Throw them into formal wear and send them out for a night on the town.

That’s what “Incognito” is serving viewers in its promo. However, the main thing to take away is the clear spotlight on Special Agent Lala Dominguez.

Since the start of NCIS: Origins, fans have been eagerly awaiting to see when Lala and Gibbs’s stories would, shall we say, entangle. Her character also hasn’t been developed nearly as much as others.

Though there are plenty of voice cameos in If, the credits revealing Brad Pitt as Keith is a surprising secret. John Krasinski's 2024 live-action/CGI hybrid movie about imaginary friends features plenty of A-list talent. Whether it is Ryan Reynolds leading the way or the likes of Steve Carell or Phoebe Waller-Bridge being part of If's voice cast, the credits for the film are loaded with recognizable names. This is at least partially due to Krasinski and Reynolds pulling in favors from other people they have worked with over the years.

Leading up to If's ending, audiences are sure to match the voices of many imaginary friends with known stars. Krasinski and Gosling's real-life wives, Emily Blunt and Blake Lively, both have voice cameos as Unicorn and Octopuss. Krasinski also pulls in his former Leatherheads co-star George Clooney, former Promised Land co-star Matt Damon, and former Aloha co-star Bradley Cooper.

Sheriff Country will join Fire Country in the 2025/2026 TV season. The much-anticipated offshoot stars Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey, Edgewater's sheriff with a close connection to the Leone family. CBS picked up the show and set Matt Lopez (Promised Land) as the showrunner. Max Thieriot is heavily involved with the project, having directed the backdoor pilot that aired on the flagship series. CBS’s NCIS: Origins shows how a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) joins Nis, the agency that became NCIS. There’s also a young Franks (Kyle Schmid) but the rest of the team is all new. Mariel Molino plays Special Agent Lala Dominguez.

The pilot for NCIS: Origins wasn’t available to watch before CBS presented the show to the Television Critics Association. So, I spoke with Molino at the party that evening to find out more about the new character. NCIS: Origins premieres Monday, October 14, 2024 at 10pm Et/Pt.

Outer Banks season 4 is jampacked with a variety of songs by many different artists, ranging from Skinshape to The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Coming off of their El Dorado discovery in Outer Banks season 3, the Pogues return to North Carolina, where they build a home for themselves, aka another Poguelandia, in season 4. However, they can never stay out of trouble for too long as they get mixed up with a family curse involving Blackbeard's wife.

Netflix split Outer Banks season 4 into two parts each consisting of five episodes, with part 1 releasing on October 10, 2024, and part 2 dropping on November 7, 2024.

The Pogues find themselves in contention with another (more lethal) treasure-hunting crew who are also searching for Blackbeard's wife's amulet and the pirate's treasure. The Pogues are back in the Outer Banks with a fresh sound to match.

After an emotional end to the third season, finding the gold but losing two father figures along the way, the Pogues have returned to North Carolina to embark on their next treasure-hunting mission. The third season ended with an 18-month jump forward in time. Season 4 backtracks to catch audiences up with what the Pogues have done with their cash and lives since.

The soundtrack of the fourth season combines retro funk, psychedelic rock and indie surfer hits to create an eclectic vibe that matches the varied personalities of the Pogues. Hits from Cake, Tame Impala and Funkadelic create an edge to accompany the treasure hunters’ adventurous spirits.
