Tim Burton is teaming up with Gillian Flynn for the remake of Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, a cult science fiction movie. The original film had a low budget but became a classic example of '50s sci-fi, and Burton's unique style is a perfect fit for the remade version. Burton has experience reinventing '50s sci-fi tropes, like with his black comedy adaptation of Mars Attacks! and could consider casting one of his frequent collaborators for the lead role.

A young Daniel Brayer axe in hand, stands over twelve dead bodies including those of his parents.

Twelve years later it happens again and Daniel is there again. Both times however the bodies vanish before they can be taken to the morgue leaving Daniel a free, if very troubled man who has taken up permanent residence in Room 1224.

And it promises to mashup the best elements of popular franchises The Hunger Games and Jurassic World. It doesn't sound like your typical spoof, either, but instead will be an on-the-level sci-fi action thriller. Though, probably not with the big budget VFX you're used to seeing at the local cinema.
