Halsey channels a dominatrix in the racy music video for their new single “safeword.”

The 30-year-old hitmaker rolled out the song and its accompanying music video on Thursday (February 27), signaling the start of a new era after last year’s album The Great Impersonator.

“Pin me to the floor, swing me by the neck / Locked behind a door, is it time yet,” Halsey sings over a plucky production courtesy of Austin Corona and Wyatt Bernard. Tensions rise as they move into the chorus, singing, “I’m tough, I’m mean, I’m rough / Just say the safe word when you’ve had enough.”

The accompanying visual, directed by Lana Jay Lackey, brings the lyrics to life.

Fans certainly can’t get enough of Halsey — but with their latest song, they’ve issued some simple instruction for when they need a breather. On Thursday, Feb. 27, Halsey shared “Safeword,” a new single, and their first proper music release since their 2024 album The Great Impersonator. As the song’s title suggests, “Safeword” explores Halsey’s kinky side, and features them showcasing musical stylings in ways they haven’t before.

Former child star Drake Bell is in serious legal trouble following a recent arrest in Ohio. On Thursday, the Drake & Josh star appeared in Cuyahoga County court to face charges of attempted endangering children, which is a 4th degree felony, along with an additional charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a 1st degree misdemeanor. Bell entered a plea of not guilty to the charges, though he had to pose for a new mug shot after his arrest.

Per Fox 8 News, Bell's alleged crimes happened on the evening of Dec. 1, 2017, at a concert where the Nickelodeon star was performing. According to the prosecutor's office, the unnamed 15-year-old victim filed a report with her local police department in Canada in October 2018 regarding the alleged incident.

Following a string of 2020 singles, Rhye — the stage name of singer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Milosh — has announced his new album Home, the follow-up to 2019’s Spirit.

Milosh also shared the video for the new single “Black Rain,” a one-shot visual featuring actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson dancing to the slow-funk track; Sam Taylor-Johnson directed the homemade video, with Milosh serving as director of photography.

“It has this Eighties version of disco, like the way Quincy Jones was interpreting disco,” Milosh said of “Black Rain” in a statement.

Catchphrase and Sex Tape producer Stv Productions is developing a UK adaptation of French entertainment format The Secret Song.

The company, which is the production arm of the Scottish broadcaster, has optioned the format from Vivendi Entertainment.

The series, which was originally created by Dmlstv, airs on TF1 in France. In each show, singers, actors, TV hosts, athletes and comedians have to sit in a chair in the middle of the stage, in the dark, having absolutely no clue about what’s going to happen. But then, the music starts playing, the lights go up, and they are surprised to hear the first notes of a song that means a lot to them.

Separately, ITV Studios Germany has also optioned the format, which has been snapped up in ten countries including Finland.

Stv produces series including ITV entertainment format Safeword, which has been remade for VH1 in the U.S.

Michael B. Jordan is turning to his famous friends for advice as he becomes one of Hollywood’s biggest talents.

The Black Panther actor, 31, told Vanity Fair for its November issue published on Tuesday that he recently sought out wisdom from another major star, Will Smith.
