Well produced film illustrates just how precarious an immigrants life in the United States can be. Stand-out performance by Yi Liu and confident direction by Shu-Ying Chung make this short worth every minute. The movies point of view places us in the impossible situation of having to choose between safety, and completely upending another persons life, regardless of circumstance. This is the kind of story that forces us to examine the extreme good fortune and privilege that simply being born in the United States affords those of us who are citizens. The very use of the word "Removable" - a government term - as it apples to a human being was not a concept with which I was familiar.
