RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars is considered the worst season in the franchise's history. It had the lowest rating on IMDb, and according to Collider, lost the support of countless fans. It made people wonder if global competitions were a good idea for the drag competition.

On paper, the concept seemed like it would be an instant hit. One queen from each of the Drag Race franchises from around the world would compete in front of Ru Paul, Michelle Visage, and a cast of judges from around the world. When the cast was announced, which included some of the most popular queens from around the world, fans were excited. So, why did the inaugural Global All Stars flop, and where did it all go wrong?

Twelve fan-favorite global glamazons will return to the stage of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” to compete for the title of “Queen of the Mothertucking World.”

With at least one season under their belts, the queens are back with more confidence, glitz and glamour than ever before. The twelve all stars told TheWrap what they’re bringing with them into the new franchise of “Drag Race.”

Alyssa Edwards, the all-American queen from Texas, said, “as soon as I left season five, my pumps hit the ground running.” The sassy, Southern queen returned for “All Stars” season two and said that joining the “Drag Race” family changed who she was at her core.

BBC's "Boarders" Will Return to Tubi For Season 2

It's almost back-to-school time: Tubi has announced it will continue to bring the critically acclaimed BBC Three coming-of-age series "Boarders” to North American subscribers for the series’ second season.

Written by BAFTA nominee Daniel Lawrence Taylor (“Timewasters)”, “Boarders” follows the lives of five talented Black teenagers from inner-city London as they navigate life at St. Gilbert’s, an elite boarding school. The second season reportedly will see a new era for the students at the school with an acting headmistress who wants them gone.

Josh Tedeku (Jaheim), Jodie Campbell (Leah), Sekou Diaby (Toby), Myles Kamwendo (Omar), and Aruna Jalloh (Femi) will reprise their roles in the second season with Taylor returning as their mentor, Gus. French celebrity drag queen and tv presenter Nicky Doll is suing Laurence Fox for defamation over pedophile comments he made about drag artists appearing in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The action comes just three months after UK actor Fox, who is now better known as a controversial political activist and TV presenter, was ordered to pay £180,000 in damages to former RuPaul’s Drag Race UK contestant Crystal (Colin Seymour) and charity trustee Simon Blake, after he called them “pedophiles” on social media.

Nicky Doll, whose birth name is Karl Sanchez, was among a group of drag artists appearing in a scene entitled ‘Festivity’, celebrating inclusion and diversity. It was among 12 tableaux celebrating the French spirit woven into the Olympics opening ceremony on July 26.

Fox responded to the tableau with a clip and caption which read: “No point in getting wound up when the child f**kers want to wind you up.

“Loot” Renewed at Apple TV+

Apple TV+’s “Loot” is in the money: the comedy series, starring and executive produced by Maya Rudolph, has been renewed for a third season at the streamer.

Created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, “Loot” stars Rudolph as Molly Wells, who, after divorcing her tech billionaire husband (Adam Scott) after 20 years, must figure out what to do with her $87 billion settlement and turns her attention to running the charitable foundation she forgot she started to connect with the real world.

The iconic queen, best known for her unforgettable turns on Drag Race Season 5 and All Stars 2, will face off against 11 queens, each from one of the reality competition’s many international iterations, when the Paramount+ series premieres on Friday, Aug. 16 with back-to-back episodes. Drag Race México is back for Season 2, and World of Wonder has confirmed that the 13 queens are competing for the crown.

The new season of the drag competition is set to premiere on June 20th on Wow Presents Plus.

Contestants of Drag Race México face off in creative and acting challenges, fashion runways, live performances, music video recordings, and more as they try to impress the judge’s panel and avoid elimination.

The participants use their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to make it to the grand finale and compete in an epic lip-sync battle to snatch the crown. The winner will take home the dazzling crown and scepter, along with a grand cash prize.

Drag Race France alum Lolita Banana is set to return as host of the second season and will be joined by Queen of the Universe Season 2 winner Taiga Brava. They will both be joined by Oscar Madrazo as judge.

Today, the Emmy-winning media company World of Wonder announced that Drag Race Mxico will premiere later this year. The new season will be helmed by returning co-host and Drag Race France alum Lolita Banana, alongside newcomer and Queen of the Universe Season 2 winner Taiga Braga. Oscar Madrazo will also return as a judge. The series will debut the first eight episodes exclusively on Wow Presents Plus this summer.

A new season of Drag Race France is on the way!

Wow Presents Plus has announced the queens who will be competing on season three of the French version of RuPaul’s Drag Race, along with which judges will be returning.

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 contestant Nicky Doll is back as host for the new season.

“I’m thrilled to come back to the helm of this legendary show and to present to you an absolutely iconic group of queens. Get ready for a high level season, with one key word: Talent,” Nicky shared in a statement.

In season three, “The mini and maxi challenges are as difficult as ever and will test the queens’ charisma, uniqueness, talent and nerve. A new spin will be added this year with the Nickyphone – a glittery pink phone belonging to Nicky that will ring several times throughout the season to task the queens with ‘surprise challenges.

RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 premiered with 16 new queens, expanding the franchise internationally with new series in France, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Germany. Darcey & Stacey season 4 follows the tumultuous relationship statuses of the twins, adding more drama to their already successful spin-off from 90 Day Fiancé. Super exciting news has been revealed for fans of Drag Race!

World of Wonder announced the renewal of three of it’s shows across the world at MIPCOM in Cannes, France this week.

Earlier this year, four US-based Drag Race shows were renewed, and, this year has also seen the premieres of Drag Race Belgique, Drag Race Sverige, Drag Race Mexico, Drag Race Brazil and Drag Race Germany.

Fans have been really loving the international versions, and there is also one in particular that fans have been begging for another season.

At MIPCOM, it was announced that Drag Race France, Drag Race Phillippines and Drag Race Thailand have all been given renewals for a third season each!

Drag Race Thailand has not had a new episode since 2019, and co-host Pangina Heals has since gone on to compete for the first time on RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World.

Day two of the MIPCOM international television market brought a slew of new deals and a major corporate acquisition.

French group Newen Studios, owned by commercial channel TF1, announced it had secured a majority stake in Marie Guillaumond’s French production company Felicita Films. The boutique group has some 10 projects in development for local French channels and streaming platforms, and is currently in postproduction on A la Hauteur, a feature film directed by Delphine and Muriel Coulin starring Vincent Lindon.

On the sales side, the BBC pre-bought season two of period drama Marie Antoinette from Banijay Rights. The Canal+ drama, created by Deborah Davis, stars Emilia Schüle (Ku’damm 56/ 63) as the avant-garde French queen and Louis Cunningham (Bridgerton) as the King Louis XVI. World of Wonder announced Tuesday that “Drag Race France,” “Drag Race Philippines” and “Drag Race Thailand” have each been renewed for their third seasons. The announcement was made at MIPCOM, the global market for entertainment content across all platforms held annually in Cannes, France.

“Drag Race Philippines” and “Drag Race Thailand” will be available to stream on Wow Presents Plus globally and “Drag Race France” will be available on Wow Presents Plus in all territories outside of France per a press release.

Coming on the heels of a highly successful second season — which was the first European franchise to record its finale in front of an audience and received average audience figures per episode of 810,000 in France alone on France 2 and France.tv — “Drag Race France” will be inviting a new set of queens to compete for the chance to snatch the crown in 2024.

Coco's future role in the show is uncertain, but they are likely to return and may be instrumental in influencing Quinn's decisions regarding Laurent.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon newcomer Hugo Bardin, known by their drag performance name Paloma, reveals their character in the show, Coco, was specifically written for them to portray. Coco is a drag performer in the Demimonde, a nightclub in Paris run by Isabelle's ex-boyfriend Quinn. Coco appears to oversee the entertainment portion of the Demimonde, including introducing different performers.

The announcement was made Friday on the main stage of DragCon LA, the world’s largest annual drag convention.

Valentina rose to fame during Season 9 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” The judges were enamored with her beauty and style, but her run ended after she famously protested taking off her facemask during her elimination lip-sync against Nina Bonina Brown, placing seventh.

She would later compete in “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4,” also finishing seventh. She’s appeared in her own Wow Presents Plus series and modeled in several fashion magazines, including Vogue Mexico, and appeared in Fox’s live musical “Rent.”
