Adam Driver
Star Wars 9 Won't Walk Kylo Ren Down Anakin's Same Path to Redemption
Adam Driver
Adam Driver doesn't like your Kylo Ren redemption theories. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker star is throwing a monkey wrench into the Star Wars speculation surrounding the latest movie. We're now less than three weeks away from the long-awaited threequel hitting theaters and speculation is at an all-time high, fueled in part by the crazy amount of TV spots the studio has been putting out. Disney and Lucasfilm have released a new TV spot with different footage each day this week and it doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon.

In a new interview, Adam Driver was asked about Kylo Ren and his possible redemption in The Rise of Skywalker. "What does he have to be redeemed for?" Driver fired back. Well, there's actually quite a bit Ren could stand to be redeemed for with the killing of his father (Han Solo) being the number one and most obvious reason.

Star Wars Rebels Ghost Ship Spotted in Rise of Skywalker Teaser?

The latest teaser for the final Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer may provide a major connection the Star Wars Rebels animated series. Lucasfilm released a new teaser for the final trailer this afternoon to prepare for tonight's premiere during the Monday Night Football game. In the aforementioned footage, we see the Tie Fighters descending on the frigid ice planet Kijimi and it looks like things are going to get heated. The second batch of new footage revolves around The Resistance.

In new Rise of Skywalker footage centering on The Resistance, the Millennium Falcon is front and center with a ton of backup. This leads us to believe that their efforts to rebuild after the events of The Last Jedi have been very successful. Additionally, if one looks to the right of the Falcon, one can easily see a ship that looks just like Ghost from the Star Wars Rebels animated series.

Galaxy's Edge May Have Leaked Leia's Mission in Rise of Skywalker
J.J. Abrams at an event for Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
General Leia Organa might be heading to a forgotten Star Wars planet in The Rise of Skywalker. There are a lot of leaks and rumors surrounding the movie as of now. Some of them make a lot of sense and some of them seem ridiculous, while the rest fall into the maybe category. As for thinking about Leia in the upcoming movie, we're not even sure how big her part will be, though we know that J.J. Abrams has quite a bit of extra Leia footage from The Force Awakens hanging around.

The latest Rise of Skywalker leak comes to us from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which is getting ready to launch the Rise of the Resistance ride. The new addition to the Disney World park is coming in December, while the Disneyland park will have to wait until January. With that being said, there have been some lucky people...

The Force Is Strong with Kylo Ren in Latest Rise of Skywalker Image
An official Rise of Skywalker image finds Kylo Ren getting blown away. Lucasfilm is preparing to launch Triple Force Friday next week, which has resulted in some interesting promotional leaks. Earlier this week, Star Wars fans were treated to one of the best Knights of Ren images to be released thus far. Said picture seems to be from the same scene where Kylo Ren's helmet is being re-forged, but that has not been confirmed. Like the Knights of Ren image, the latest look at Kylo Ren is presented without context.

In the new look from The Rise of Skywalker, Kylo Ren appears to be in a Star Destroyer hangar as someone, or something, is getting away. There is flash of blue light, which could mean that a ship could be escaping the hangar, possibly the Millennium Falcon after General Hux provided The Resistance with some much-needed intel. In recent leaks from the movie,...

Rey Lightsaber Theory Confirmed as More Rise of Skywalker Promo Art Arrives
Lucasfilm is getting ready for The Rise of Skywalker promotional push. Triple Force Friday takes place next week and Star Wars fans were treated to a taste of what's to come earlier this week. In addition, we now have a good look at Rey's repaired Lightsaber from the upcoming movie, which confirms it's the very same blade she's used this whole time. With a lot of rumors floating around, these official images give fans something to talk about and examine.

Rey and Kylo Ren broke Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber during their battle in The Last Jedi. Rey was later seen holding the iconic weapon in two pieces later in the movie. However, the blue Lightsaber is back in action, thanks to a band of new metal binding the two pieces together. The Triple Force Friday launch event had the Lightsaber prop on display and Lucasfilm is officially calling the weapon, "Re-forged Skywalker Lightsaber.

Rise of Skywalker Leak May Reveal Shocking Battle
J.J. Abrams at an event for Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
The Rise of Skywalker will reportedly feature a pretty massive battle with Kylo Ren and Rey taking on Emperor Palpatine. Speculation about the final installment in the Skywalker saga has been heating up over the past few weeks as Star Wars fans try and figure out the story. J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm are doing their best to keep anything substantial from leaking, but at this point in the post-production process, some leaks are inevitable. With that being said, there may be Spoilers for The Rise of Skywalker below, so read ahead at your own risk.

The latest Rise of Skywalker leak revolves around the final scene, which has been talked about quite a bit. Director Kevin Smith was able to visit the set when production was in full swing and he claims the last scene in the movie will "melt" our minds. He didn't see it, as he was advised not to by J.

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Introduces New Virtual Queue System To Control Crowds
Johan Karlberg, Peng Zhang Li, Lingmeng Hu, Li Yin, and Ma Hong Jing in Fankang zhe (2011)
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there was a new addition to Disneyland in Anaheim called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and it was only open to people with reservations. But on the 24th day of June, the park made this land available without reservations which meant that anyone who had admission to Disneyland could have access to new themed land that is set in the Star Wars universe planet of Batuu. That said, Galaxy’s Edge is already the most popular section of the park, but in order to avoid massive crowds, Disneyland has come up with a new virtual queue.

If you want to ride Millennium Falcon’s Smuggler’s Run, drink some blue milk, build your own lightsaber or join The Resistance while at Disneyland, the park has come up with a system to control the crowds with a virtual queue. For those who are early risers,...

Did Luke Tease The Title Of Star Wars: Episode IX In The Last Jedi?
The subtitle of Star Wars: The Last Jedi was taken from the opening crawl of The Force Awakens, making it only natural that fans would be looking to the 2017 film for clues on what the official title of Star Wars: Episode IX might be. And while we have no strong evidence leaning us towards any single candidate, one user on Reddit still makes an intriguing case for their particular prediction.

Like many a theorist before them, Redditor Wmwortman suggests that a passage of dialogue from The Last Jedi might hint at the title, drawing specifically from the climactic moment where Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker reunite. When the young Ben Solo tells his uncle that “The Resistance is dead, the war is over, and when I kill you, I will have killed the last Jedi,” Luke offers the following rebuttal:

“Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.

Star Wars: Episode IX Rumor Teases Leia’s New Weapon
Depending on how you look at it, superweapon storylines are either a time-honored tradition of the Star Wars movies, or a lazy excuse for a climax that’s been used at least one too many times. But while a new rumor suggests that yet another game-changing device could be put to use in Star Wars: Episode IX, it won’t be the villains who get to use it this time.

Though The Last Jedi left The Resistance in a pretty grim state, ScreenRant has suggested that General Leia Organa could be holding one last trump card in the form of a weapon called Warhammer. Apparently, this device that’s capable of slicing through Star Destroyers was originally planned to get a mention in J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens. Now that the director’s returning to the series, it’s been theorized that he may use this opportunity to finally bring...

Watch the Harrowing New Trailer for Season 2 of ‘Handmaid’s Tale’

“Is this freedom looks like?” questions Elizabeth Moss’ Offred in the new trailer for Season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” released Wednesday.

“What will happen when I get out?” she continues. “There probably is no out, Gilead is within you.”

The footage then follows Offred, on the run and pregnant, while Luke, her husband from before Gilead, and her friend Moira fight for “The Resistance” in Canada. The trailer also features the Colonies for the first time, where Emily (Alexis Bledel) and Janine (Madeline Brewer) have been sent for disobeying the rules of Gilead.

“My name is June Osborne. I am free,” Moss says in the closing seconds the clip, using her real name rather than the one given to her by her commander.

“The Handmaid’s Tale,” based on the famed 1985 novel by Margaret Atwood, tells the story of a dystopian near-future in which the U.S. is rocked...

Chris Cabin’s Top Ten Movies of 2017
The best movies of the year seemed to fit perfectly in line with the volcanic first year under President Trump, speaking to the brutality and oddness of late capitalism as much as that thing that has come to be known as “The Resistance.” As the recent Gop tax bill came to its frenzied conclusion in the Senate, I found myself connecting to the confusion, horror, and madness of Good Time and mother!. There was also comfort to be found in Agnes Varda’s sublime Faces Places, which brought the quiet emotions of everyday people in rural France booming into the …...

A Slightly Queer Take on "The Last Jedi"
This was originally published in Nathaniel's intermittent column at Towleroad.

There’s a bit of a macro and micro thing happening at the movies. I’m not talking about Disney’s new merchandising bonanza pairing those miniature “porgs” (think CGI puffins) with towering furry Chewbacca. No we speak of the wide release and limited release divide. Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been filling houses at over 4000 theaters and is obliterating the competition (already number #3 of the year in just 10 days) while a bunch of Oscar contenders are playing, not so quietly, in limited release gigs in their pursuit of golden statues. We’ll talk about more of those again soon but first [cue yellow text crawl over space] Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

We now return to The Resistance (aka the proudly defiant “Rebel Scum”) who are even easier to relate to know in December 2017 when it feels like the world will be ending any...

Movie Review: The Resistance, a Chinese movie from 2011!
Chinese movies are very rare to find on worldwide DVD marketing, most of the time one finds Asian movies from Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan. But those Chinese movies that do come out to the world make a strong impact to the audience, for instance "Still Life", "Beijing Bicycle" and "Shanghai Triad". The Resistance made an impact with a different style of movie, a story plot from a samurai movie, but setting takes place during World War II. Directed by the 32nd generation shaolin monk Peng Zhang Li, who became a movie director and actor tells a story of revenge, genocide, and protection of a young peasant girl who must choose between death or resistance.  Story: In 1937, the Japanese imperial army launch an...
