Warning: Contains Potential Spoilers for Batman: Gotham By Gaslight - The Kryptonian Age #5!
Trigger Warning: Body Horror, Non-Consensual Body Modification
Cyborg receives a horrifying new origin that now officially ties him to Superman lore as the fan-favorite Titan is introduced in the sequel to the classic Elseworlds story Batman: Gotham By Gaslight. Along with this new connection to the Man of Steel, what makes this reimagining of Victor Stone even more intriguing is that it could signal the beginning of his villain era, presenting the character in an entirely unprecedented light.
The contrast with Cyborgs original origin is stark: instead of a grieving father saving his son out of love, this version presents a madman using Victor for his own twisted purposes.
Cyborg was first introduced into the Batman: Gotham by Gaslight - The Kryptonian Age series in issue #4by Andy Diggle, Leandro Fernndez, and Matt Hollingsworth. In this issue,...

At the opening of his latest single “As It Was,” Harry Styles’ goddaughter gleefully urges: “Come on, Harry, we want to say ‘good night’ to you!” As it turns out, the singer has been keeping some elite bedtime storytelling skills as a trick up his sleeve. On the latest episode of CBeebies children’s series “Bedtime Stories,” Styles gets cozy in his pajamas to read Jess Hitchman’s In Every House, On Every Street before turning in.

Exclusive: Cargo Film & Releasing has acquired sales rights to The Conductor and Father of the Cyborgs, a pair of documentary features premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.
Directed by Bernadette Wegenstein, and produced by Annette Porter of Nylon Films, The Conductor tells the overdue story of world-renowned conductor Marin Alsop, who was the first woman to serve as music director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, as well as the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. After years of overcoming various obstacles and proving naysayers wrong, we see how Marin was able to succeed against all odds, and break the glass ceiling for women conductors around the world. The film notably utilizes stirring musical segments conducted by Alsop herself, to accentuate the highs and lows of her life, and reflect for the audience her inner world.

How did an 80s Van Damme action flick emerge from a failed Spider-Man movie and Masters Of The Universe sequel? Ryan takes a look...
Cannon Films was in deep trouble by 1987. Its boom years, between the late 70s to the mid-80s, were largely thanks to an eclectic and hurriedly-made collection of B-movies: Chuck Norris action pictures, Charles Bronson revenge flicks and lots of things with the word ‘ninja’ in the title.
Thanks to its outsider status and anything-for-a-buck approach to filmmaking, Cannon Films became a major name in Hollywood, the grinning faces of its brusque founders - producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus - frequently appearing in TV news reports and tinseltown trade papers.
But in the mid-80s, Golan and Globus began to change their strategy. While they would still make Death Wish sequels and Chuck Norris pics, they began to dabble in making more expensive films, such...

Earlier today (Aug 19th) one of my all-time favourite directors, Albert Pyun, announced via his Facebook and Twitter pages that he would be stepping away from movie-making and all that it ensues, due to health reasons… He’s since expanded on the problems with his health in a further post on his Facebook page, that I urge everyone whose ever enjoyed an Albert Pyun movie to read.
Hi Everyone – sadly I’m going to have to shutdown my facebook and other movie related efforts including Director’s cuts attending film festivals and screenings due to my health issue. I have to take the time to address this condition as its a long term but not life threatening. I’ve had some heart issues but through Cynthia, that was being stabilized and in control. But this new one is not as dangerous but far more widespread across my entire body and...

From Wednesday 4th September till Sunday 8th September, the 8th annual B-movie, Underground and Trash Film Festival (Butff) will once again be held in the city centre of Breda in the Netherlands.Butff is a small and intimate, but unique international film festival. Not only is the festival a paradise for B-movie trash and underground movie lovers from around the world, it also provides a diverse line-up of unique acts and performances by musicians, poets, artists and other performers. You won’t find a festival similar to Butff anywhere else in Europe.
This year the theme is Evilution – crazy doctors, poisonous garbage dumps and radioactive radiation can produce the most gruesome creatures – featuring movies in which filmmakers will show you their wildest ideas. Butff also venture into the wonderful world of the smaller creatures on earth with a lecture and film about insects.
The big draw for me personally is...

It's been about a year since we last heard anything about Albert Pyun's Cyborg Nemesis, but it has expanded its title to Cyborg Nemesis: The Dark Rift and gotten some new artwork and a teaser trailer.
Pyun is almost done with the production and tells us of the film's lead, Joei Fulco: "She is going to be a big star; she's amazing in Cyborg Nemesis and is only 16 years old!" He adds, "We have one more shoot to do at the end of June and expect it to include a well known action star I've worked with previously."
As for the teaser, beware that it only has a rough temp sound mix and the VFX shots are not final yet either, but it should give you an idea of where Pyun is going with the film, which is drawn from the world of Cyborg and the action of Nemesis.

Director Albert Pyun dropped us a line with an update on his upcoming Cyborg: Rise of the Slingers (formerly Red Moon) and included a bit of teaser art for us to share. He's in the process of nailing down the project's lead actress and promises to reveal that info next week along with the full cast roster.
What he could tell us in the meantime is that "the film is very nasty and pure horror. My first all-out horror film." Music to the ears, right?
The screenplay is by Randall Fontana and Cynthia Curnan, and confirmed cast members thus far include Sasha Mitchell, Michael Pare, and Olivier Gruner. Cyborg: Rise of the Slingers mixes steam and cyberpunk with post-apocalyptic vampire horror. It will chronicle the genesis of the Slingers, who were guardian mercenaries in Cyborg. And it will explain why the characters in Cyborg were named after musical gear.

It seems one of my favourite director Albert Pyun is having a case of sequelitis – first came the sequel to one of my all-time movies, Sword and the Sorceror, then last month we saw the first trailer for the Pyun-directed sequel to the 80s cult hit Streets of Fire, and now Pyun has announced that he is re-tooling his sword and sorcery flick Red Moon into a steampunk sequel to the Van Damme classic Cyborg.
According to Pyun on his official Facebook page the film, which now goes by the moniker of Cyborg: Rise of Slingers, has dropped the sword and sorcery elements due to the failure of the Conan remake and a call for him to return to the “headbanging action” days of his classic movies a la Cyborg and Nemesis.
Pyun also revealed some very early promo art for the new film, which stil retains some of...

Director Albert Pyun dropped us a line with an update on Cyborg: Rise of the Slingers (formerly Red Moon) noting that he's leaving the sword and sorcery elements behind and instead will be adapting the loose prequel to his 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicle Cyborg into the steampunk universe. He also included the film's revised artwork by Rob E. Brown.
Pyun expects to commence shooting November 28th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The screenplay is by Randall Fontana and Cynthia Curnan, and they're in talks with Kevin Sorbo as well as Roxy Gunn. If signed, the two will join Sasha Mitchell, Michael Pare, and Olivier Gruner. The lead female role has yet to be cast; they are looking at a couple of newcomers in Las Vegas to play the "meanest and most hard core radical action hero I've ever put on film," says Pyun.

Director Albert Pyun dropped us a line this week to show off the inked artwork (by Rob E. Brown) for his upcoming film Red Moon, which he describes as a post-apocalyptic fantasy with lots of violence and creatures. Read on for more details!
Pyun expects to wrap the film, co-written by Cynthia Curnan and Randall Fontana, by November 24th. It marks his third collaboration with Fontana. Curnan also produces. The shoot will take place entirely in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the film has been already picked up for North America release by Wrekin Hill in the late spring 2012.
Red Moon serves as a sequel of sorts to the filmmaker's Tales of an Ancient Empire. Pyun tells us, "For Red Moon I took the sword and sorcery world into a post-apocalyptic world, a similar world to my Cyborg. So its grittier and darker. The idea is it's 20 years after Tales ends,...
