Won Ji An garnered widespread recognition after her role as Player 380 in the smash-hit survival series. Now, she has confirmed her next big role in Waiting for Gyeongdo (literal title). In this rom-com drama, she will be co-starring Park Seo Joon, showcasing a new charm and chemistry.

On February 18, Jtbc confirmed that Won Ji An will lead the upcoming drama Waiting for Gyeongdo. Previously, it was announced that Park Seo Joon would be taking on the male lead role. This drama is a romantic comedy revolving around two former lovers, Lee Gyeong Do and Seo Ji Woo. A+E Networks is continuing its investment in Korean entertainment content with “A Good Day to Be a Dog,” a fantasy romantic comedy that will upload from Oct. 11. Within Korea, the show will play on public broadcaster Mbc and Lifetime Korea, releasing at the rate of one episode per week, every Wednesday.

A+E Networks has rejigged its structure in Asia, with its regional chief leaving as a result.

The new structure will see Youngsun Soh promoted to Senior Vice President and Managing Director of A+E Korea and John Flanagan to Senior Vice President and Managing Director of A+E Japan & Southeast Asia.

A+E Asia Managing Director Saugato “Shoggy” Banerjee will leave the business on September 30 following the restructure.

“We are extremely grateful for Shoggy’s entrepreneurial efforts over the years, which helped create so many achievements in our linear businesses in Southeast Asia,” said Steve MacDonald, President, Global Licensing & International. “He was integral to the launch of our multi-faceted media business in Korea and the re-invention of our business in Japan. Saugato “Shoggy” Banerjee, who currently serves as MD of A+E Asia, is leaving the company from Sept. 30.

The moves, intended to bolster operations in Asia, were announced Monday by Patrick Vien, group MD, A+E International and Steve MacDonald, president, global licensing & international.

Based in Seoul, and reporting to Vien, Soh will continue to lead the growth of A+E’s business in Korea. She has led the unit since joining the company in 2017 as Gm and oversaw the launch of History and Lifetime linear channels.

Prime Video is expanding its global slate of Korean dramas with vampire-themed fantasy romcom HeartBeat, starring Ok Taec-yeon.

Produced by Korean broadcaster Kbs, the series will be available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide outside of Korea starting Monday, June 26. New episodes of the 16-episode series will be available weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The show is a transformational story of an impoverished man with a troubled past and a twisted attitude who accidentally joins Team Genie, a group which carries out the last wishes of patients in hospice care. He starts caring for people other than himself for the first time and learns how to open his heart and live harmoniously. Each episode has a separate story of a patient in hospice care and Team Genie’s journey to carry out their wishes.
