The Order of Things

1 review
2/10

A story we've seen a thousand times in the past

The Order of Things was a story we've seen many times; even before the movie could start we already mapped out how it'll go down, and we were waiting for a surprise or a twist, but unfortunately, the screenplay just followed the order of things...

DELICIOUS

-We got to know the characters quite well. Demi was that grown-up guy hooked to video games while Tunde, (Timini Egbuson), his brother, was the classy guy type.

-The omnipresence of the orange juice was quite funny, and it became Demi's signature/symbol, which was a smart move

-It was great to see the strong bond between the two brothers through the different experiences they endured

BLAND

---Big casting issue between Timini Egbuson and Tope Olowoniyan (playing his girlfriend). Tope is a strong, tall, and big lady while Timini looked so feeble, short, in front of her, almost like her little brother

-Lighting was not controlled, there were many bright scenes. The cinematography didn't tell the story with a romantic accent, the scenes were just shot without an artistic design

-Acting was sadly shallow, even Lateef Adedimeji was just ok. Timini didn't look involved in his character, he was just simply reciting his lines, like he didnt want to be there

-Advertisement was obvious throughout the movie directing us away from the story

-Apart from the fact that parents should let children marry at their own pace, there wasn't much a takeaway lesson to gain.
