Prepare to be Thunderstruck once again! The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are back for a second season of the Netflix docuseries “America’s Sweethearts.”
Directed by Emmy winner Greg Whiteley, “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” captures the unfiltered lives of the team (and those who aspire to be on it) on and off the field. The series was an instant hit when it debuted last spring, launching onto Netflix’s Top 10 worldwide chart with 2.3 million views in its first four days on the platform, causing thousands of viewers to attempt those high-flying jump splits. The streamer renewed the show last fall, and Variety exclusively revealed that seven new 60-minute episodes would debut on June 18.
Season 2 will follow the 2024-2025 squad, led by program director Kelli Finglass and choreographer Judy Trammell, from start to finish — kicking off at auditions and training camp and continuing through the ongoing NFL season — and the new trailer previews all the blood,...

They say lightning never strikes twice, but thunder sure does. America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 2 premieres on Netflix on June 18. This time around, Dcc director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell work to build yet another impressive team of talented athletes who can wow the world with their high kicks and jump splits as AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” blasts throughout AT&T Stadium.
America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 2 picks up ahead of the final round of auditions for the 2024–2025 squad, then follows those who get selected through training camp, heartbreaking cuts, the official team announcement, and into the NFL season. This season, just 23 of 36 veterans return to try and make the lineup, which means there will be a larger rookie class than in the previous five years. Finglass and Trammell whittled down the nearly 500 new submissions they received, and now they’ll assess the...

Netflix returned to the upfronts on Wednesday afternoon with a presentation that, at first, looked like it might be a production of Waiting for Gadot.
Initially looking awfully serious, Jude Law and Jason Bateman stood in respective spotlights on an otherwise empty stage at downtown’s Perelman Performing Arts Center in Manhattan. But the facade soon cracked. The dependably sardonic Bateman set up a trailer for their new series, Black Rabbit, as Law played his part and pushed one of the streamer’s chosen slogans of the day: “Welcome to the center of attention.”
The messaging has not changed since the last dog and pony show for media buyers: Netflix has achieved cultural ubiquity in a manner that no other streamer has come close. Naturally, it is the best place for advertising. Right? Right? Amy Reinhard, Netflix’s president of advertising, kicked off a one-ish hour spiel by reiterating that...

How to Defeat Mr Hammer
Mr Hammer is the first proper boss of the game (and potentially a reference to a certain Batman: Arkham City villain), and introduces you to the real co-operative mechanics of the game. You and your partner have zero choice now; you have to be on the same wavelength throughout this chaotic and hectic boss fight, otherwise you’ll end up smushed on the floor by Mr Hammer and his gigantic hammer more times than you can count. Cobra Kai may have closed its doors last month, but that doesn’t mean the story is quite over yet for the Karate Kid franchise. As well as this year’s movie, Karate Kid: Legends, there have been several teases for possible spinoffs from Cobra Kai itself. The following contains spoilers for the entire final season of "Cobra Kai."
"Cobra Kai" Season 6 Part 3 is full of moments straight out of most "Karate Kid" enthusiasts' dreams. For six years, the show has done fan service the right way, using it to say something about its characters, the past, and the present. When the first season essentially redid the original plot of "The Karate Kid" but with Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) turning to the dark side and purposely using a dirty trick to win, it was to show Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) realizing the dangers of passing along the more aggressive aspects of the Cobra Kai teachings.
This continues all the way to the final episodes of Season 6, which are some of the best episodes in the entire show. We see themes and character arcs come full circle, hard-won victories achieved, and plenty of shocking moments. Arguably, though, one...

As the calendar flipped over to bring in 2025, it signified an important point in wrestling history. John Cena, perhaps the most decorated WWE performer ever, will have his farewell tour this year. As he makes his final laps in the squared circle, many have been reflecting on his amazing career. Of course, the people who worked with Cena directly during his wrestling days have the best perspective and anecdotes to share.
In a recent radio show, current Tna star and host of Busted Open Radio, Nic Nemeth, reflected with his co-host Bully Ray on working with the Cenation Leader. In particular, he pointed to an interaction regarding Cena turning heel or changing his character, a long-standing topic of debate among fans. During an episode of Busted Open Radio, the former Dolph Ziggler talked about working closely with The Doctor of Thuganomics, and some of the creative decisions that were being made at the time.

The hit docuseries “America’s Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” has been renewed for a second season at Netflix.
The first season of the docuseries, which captured the unfiltered lives of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on and off the field, left audiences thunderstruck — or at least trying to learn the choreography to Dcc’s signature pregame routine.
Directed by Emmy winner Greg Whitley, “America’s Sweethearts” debuted June 20 and launched onto Netflix’s top 10 worldwide chart with 2.3 million views in its first four days on the platform. The series remained on the list of top 10 U.S. TV shows for five weeks straight and reached the top 10 in 27 countries. The “Thunderstruck” number became a viral TikTok dance trend (10K videos have used the sound) with thousands of people shaking their poms — though fewer attempted the high-flying jump split, further proving the squad’s “often imitated, never equaled” status.

Dallas Cowboys fans are not a happy group right now. On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles dismantled their NFC rival 34-6, dropping the Cowboys to a lowly 3-6 (and now 0-4 at home!) record. There is one bright spot this morning, however: Netflix has renewed docuseries “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” for a second season.

Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5, episode 5, "Thunderstruck."
With only seven episodes to go, 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5, episode 5, "Thunderstruck," brings back one character who, in retrospect, could be the perfect person for Owen. The Fox procedural drama TV show created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear follows the personal and work lives of first responders in Austin, Texas. More specifically, 9-1-1: Lone Star heavily revolves around Station 126, a firehouse led by Rob Lowe's Owen, a firefighter captain.
Owen moved from New York City to Austin with his son, Tk, at the start of 9-1-1: Lone Star. While Owen has been a great captain, friend, and father, he has also been unlucky in love for almost the whole series. His relationship with Gwyn Morgan had been a rollercoaster for years, even before the show began,...

9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, Episode 5, "Thunderstruck," was heavy on Tk and Carlos as it explored how their relationship had progressed a year after getting married and Carlos losing his father. The latter greatly affected the former, with Carlos bent on solving his dad's murder, much to the detriment of his marriage. Series star Ronen Rubinstein talked to Entertainment Weekly about Tk and Carlos' marriage and what's on the horizon. He revealed that even if the couple had weathered this challenge, there was still more to come, and it might not be pretty. Later episodes introduce Tk's stepdad Enzo and stepbrother Jonah, leading to revelations that will shake Tk's life and marriage.

There are a lot of debates over whether animals have feelings or not. All you have to do is really look at animals to know that they do, and 911: Lone Star season 5, episode 5 gives us a look at that.
Caution: This post contains Spoilers for 911: Lone Star season 5, episode 5.
This episode has a few ongoing threads happening. Owen’s focus is on the guilt he feels for “giving up” on his brother. Just because the horse Thunder suffers from illnesses and is a bit of a mad one, he doesn’t want to see it put down. So, he focuses on finding a new home.
There are times that the best thing for an animal is to euthanize it. However, I don’t think it was time for Thunder. When he went off with his rider on his back, it wasn’t to cause havoc. It was to...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 5 “Thunderstruck.”] The first Tarlos episode of the final season of 9-1-1: Lone Star features one of Ronen Rubinstein‘s favorite scenes they’ve ever done. With Carlos (Rafael L. Silva) obsessed with trying to find his father’s killer, there’s been a strain on his and T.K.’s (Rubinstein) relationship. They had to go to couples counseling, and among the issues? Carlos falling asleep during their “sexy time.” Rubinstein loved that scene. “My showrunners are very aware of my love for Brad Pitt’s career, and they literally kind of recreated that scene based off of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It literally says it in the script, the very first description is ‘Imagine Mr. and Mrs. Smith therapy scene. Rock legends AC/DC have hit another milestone, notching their first Diamond-certified single in the United States with “Thunderstruck.”
The song was certified Diamond by the RIAA after shifting 10 million equivalent units, which now includes both pure sales and streaming activity. Interestingly, the song hadn’t achieved any certification until now, with the RIAA awarding it Gold (for half a million units), Platinum (one million), and Diamond simultaneously.
Released in 1990 as the lead single and opening track on The Razor’s Edge, “Thunderstruck” has endured as one of AC/DC’s most recognizable songs with its frenetic fret-tapping intro by guitarist Angus Young and the anthemic shout-along gang vocals.
Not only has “Thunderstruck” remained a staple on classic rock radio and bar jukeboxes, but it has also become a mainstay at sporting events the world over. The intro to “Thunderstruck” can often be heard blaring from the Pa when a home...

Spoiler Warning: This interview discusses plot points from “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,” now streaming on Netflix.
Last Thanksgiving, Greg Whiteley was on the sidelines at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders put on an electrifying halftime show with special guest, country music icon Dolly Parton.
The Emmy-winning documentarian, best known for “Cheer” and “Last Chance U,” and his crew had been filming into the wee hours the night before, as workers put the finishing touches on Parton’s stage (which had to be assembled in a way that it could be torn down in a matter of minutes for the game to resume) and the cheerleaders made last-minute tweaks to their formations.
“The cheerleaders get 15 minutes of uninterrupted prime-time coverage. It’s a huge deal. No other cheerleading squad gets this, and they get it every year, so they take it seriously,” Whiteley tells Variety.

AC/DC played their first show in seven years on Saturday night (October 7th) at the Power Trip festival in Indio, California. The evening also featured a set by fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Judas Priest.

Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd's wedding Post-it note continued to play an important part in Meredith's story as it made a surprising return in season 19 of Grey's Anatomy. First appearing in the season 5, episode 24, "Now or Never", the wedding Post-it note was an idea concocted by Derek after he and Meredith decided to get married but struggled to attend their appointment at City Hall. With so much drama and chaos unfolding at the hospital, Derek told Meredith that they should write their marriage vows down on the Post-it note and then sign it to seal their commitment to one another.
Although Meredith and Derek officially got married in season 7's "White Wedding", the blue Post-it continued to play an important part in their relationship as the couple occasionally referred back to their it whenever they got into fights and were on the verge of breaking up. It was...

Dead Island 2 is at its best when the game is just letting you kill as many zombies as possible in the twisted town of Hell-A. Of course, the game is even more fun when you pick the playable slayer that lets you kill as many zombies as possible as effectively as possible.
While all of Dead Island 2‘s playable characters can get you through the game, some are simply better than others. That being the case, here’s a power ranking of every playable character in the game and why you should (or shouldn’t) pick them.
6. Bruno
Backstab: Bruno gets a moderate Damage boost when attacking zombies from behind.
Rapid Reprisal: Boost Bruno’s Agility and Heavy Attack Charges when he avoids attacks with a Block or Dodge.
Buno is Dead Island 2‘s version of the basic Rogue archetype, which means he boasts high critical damage and is looking to backstab zombies.

After many years since the first game's release, Dead Island 2 is finally here with six new playable characters known as Slayers. The six Slayers will each have two innate abilities to start off the game in addition to a Skill Deck that can be used to build on those and customize the character fully.
The six Slayers are Bruno, Dani, Amy, Jacob, Ryan, and Carla. While there is no wrong option to choose since the Skill Deck allows players to really shape their character, the Slayer cannot be changed mid-game and there are certain reasons some players may prefer kicking off their game with one over another.

Chris Pratt's involvement in The Super Mario Bros. Movie means it began a surprising trend for his 2023 movies. Nintendo and Illumination's animated movie takes audiences into Mario's world like never before. This includes showing where Mario comes from as an Italian plumber who resides in Brooklyn, New York before he stumbles into a Warp Pipe and becomes part of a bigger story. The Super Mario Bros. does still pay homage to the character's decades of video games in several ways, including replicating specific levels, featuring a plethora of known characters, and Easter eggs meant to fuel audiences' nostalgic feelings.
One of the underappreciated aspects of The Super Mario Bros. Movie is its soundtrack. On top of Jack Black's original song "Peaches" playing in the film, the song selection includes choices from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. The Super Mario Bros. Movie uses some very recognizable tunes as...

This article contains mild spoilers for "The Super Mario Bros. Movie."
Aaron Horvath's and Michael Jelenic's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" contains multiple, perhaps-obvious, pop music cues that accent the film's many action sequences. Early in the film, when Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) have to traverse a dangerous Brooklyn street on the way to a much-needed plumbing job, The Beastie Boys' 1987 hit "No Sleep Till Brooklyn," from their album "Licensed to Ill" plays on the soundtrack. The line "Our manager's crazy, he always smokes dust" is tactfully omitted. Later in the film, when Mario, Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), and Toad (Keegan-Michael Key) have to build and drive their own high-octane go-karts, the opening rock strains of AC/DC's 1990 song "Thunderstruck," punctuates the construction.
Both of these music cues have some thematic logic. The more baffling needle drop is the placement of A-ha's 1985 chart-topper "Take on Me,...

The Queen’s former piper, Pipe Major Scott Methven has recalled how King Charles III – formerly known as the Prince of Wales – once asked him to play AC/DC at an event.
The professional bagpiper – who has performed at other events including Sting’s 60th birthday party in 2012 – said that he was able to have a “good laugh” with the royal family.
"I remember one night, it was just the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and several other members of the family. The invited guests hadn’t arrived so I said I would mix it up and I did movies on the bagpipes,” he said.
"I would go around the tables and it would be like Top Gun and the Prince of Wales (now King Charles) had asked if I could do AC/DC ‘Thunderstruck’.”
Methven also recalled the “banter” that he shared with the Queen during his four years living at Buckingham Palace.

And just like that, winter has come again. HBO Max’s list of new releases for August 2022 is highlighted by the return of the king. Or more accurately: the return of the queen … of the Seven Kingdoms.
Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max on Aug. 21, just over three years after Game of Thrones concluded in controversial fashion with “The Iron Throne.” This new series is a prequel, depicting the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons from George R.R. Martin’s lore. When dragon fights dragon, the realm will be torn asunder. But the viewer will certainly delight in all the Targaryen action.

Houston — Nineteen children and two adults were murdered at the Robb Elementary School, in part because the gun lobby has made it legal for 18-year-olds in Texas to buy weapons designed for mass killing.
But to hear National Rifle Association honcho Wayne Lapierre tell it, the real victim here is the NRA.
Lapierre took the stage of the National Rifle Association’s governance meeting Saturday to the strains of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” and delivered an angry address in which he painted the NRA as the target of “weaponized government.
