After convincing Jen Hixson to let director and writer, Tawnya Foskett, adapt her Moth story into a short film, they then convinced her to let the film be shot in her current beach home and on the surrounding streets, so she could sleep and feed the crew at the same time. Jen drew the line, however, when asked if her toddler could be in the film, so they used the children of producer Melissa Levins instead.
