When you think of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, it’s easy to assume Charlie Day might be the one stacking the most cash, given his wild popularity and creative chops. And if not Charlie, surely co-creator Rob McElhenney, right?
Well, plot twist, it’s neither of them. In fact, Rob doesn’t even snag the runner-up spot. Turns out, the real moneybags of the gang is someone fans might not expect.

At the start of the writers strike, The Animation Guild, an entirely separate union to the WGA, came out in support of the labor action, pledging to “stand in solidarity” with WGA members.
However, as the strike hits the eight-week mark, one of the key issues in the TV animation world has reared its head again: the unusual way that animation projects are covered by labor unions.
Michael Jamin, a co-executive producer of animated series including King of the Hill and Brickleberry as well as live-action series such as Tacoma Fd and Lopez, highlighted the topic in a recent video (see it below).
“By some strange loophole, animated shows are either covered by the Animation Guild or the WGA, and strangely, it’s the studios that get to decide which one, not the writers themselves,” he said. “It seems to be me as that should be illegal, it seems like...

From the Gang to familiar supporting players to all-new guest stars, the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 16 cast is full of great actors. Whereas a lot of TV shows chart the growth of their characters, the members of the Gang are still the same delusional narcissists they were back in season 1. After season 15 continued the show’s successful run, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia was renewed for season 16, as well as seasons 17 and 18, breaking its own record as the longest-running live-action sitcom in television history (via Variety).
Like season 15, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 16 consists of eight episodes, with such titles as “Frank vs. Russia,” “The Gang Goes Bowling,” and “Dennis Takes a Mental Health Day.” The season kicks off with a two-episode premiere promising plenty of the show’s signature sharp humor: “The Gang Inflates” and “Frank Shoots Every Member of the Gang.” From the core five...

With Agent Elvis providing plenty of entertaining storylines, many people have been wondering who is part of the cast and what characters they play. Season 1 centered around Elvis enrolling for a government spy program to take down threats to American security. The premise might be fictional, but it will satisfy dedicated Elvis fans given that the late musician had actually expressed interest in serving as an undercover agent for the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (via Smithsonian Magazine). Agent Elvis plays around this idea, putting a foul-mouthed Elvis in a jetpack and pairing him with a reckless chimpanzee.
Agent Elvis is just one of the many comedic and dramatic reinterpretations of Presley’s life. In 2022, his legacy surged back in popularity, with Austin Butler talking in his “Elvis voice” in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. The fascination with Presley has been a recurring theme in Hollywood and American television, with notable portrayals by Kurt Russell,...

The X-Files as we once knew it appears to be all but over after 11 seasons spanning the course of 25 years, two feature films, and numerous comics, books, and video game tie-ins. On a show where famously no one ever really dies, the prospect of another run with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson is all but dead. That’s thoroughly disappointing for fans who were (to put it nicely) unsatisfied with the season 11 finale and series creator Chris Carter himself recently said he was “sorry” for how the series ended with a string of cliffhangers that may never get resolved.
The good news for X-Files diehards is that any franchise worth, well, anything in Hollywood these days never dies. Carter embodies this wholeheartedly and has been quietly working on the next iteration of The X-Files, which is an animated spinoff series script recently ordered by Fox. The X-Files is getting its own animated comedy spin-off.
Fox is developing The X-Files: Albuquerque from Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko, writers of Comedy Central’s Brickleberry.
The new iteration is an animated series about an office full of misfit agents who investigate the X-Files cases too wacky, ridiculous or downright dopey for Mulder & Scully to bother with. They’re basically the X-Files’ B-team.
The show comes from 20th Television and Fox Entertainment with Bento Box as the animation studio. The network has committed to a scrip and presentation with The X-Files creator Chris Carter and Gabe Rotter on board to exec produce.
The live-action series went for nine season on Fox through to 2002 before it was revived for two seasons in 2016. David Duchovny, who played Mulder, and Gillian Anderson, who played Scully, are not involved in this series.

Netflix demonstrated that its second-quarter miss was an anomaly, reporting record third quarter subscriber growth.
The company added 7 million subscribers in the September, exceeding its conservative forecast for 5 million net additions to the service in the third quarter. Netflix added 1.09 million subscribers in the U.S., and 5.87 million internationally, bringing the total number of subscribers to 137 million.
Netflix reported earnings of 89 cents a share, topping analysts’ consensus estimates of 68 cents a share. Streaming revenue surged 36%, reaching nearly $4 billion in the quarter — a performance that matched Wall Street’s forecasts of $4 billion.
Investors reacted strongly to Netflix’s results, driving the stock up nearly 12% to $388.49 in after-hours trading.
Wall Street’s confidence took a hit after Netflix reported disappointing subscriber gains this spring, with the stock falling sharply in the next day’s trading. At the time, one analyst called the miss a “gut punch.”

Earlier this year, we got our first taste of Paradise Pd, the new, insane, adult animated comedy series coming to Netflix from the team behind Brickleberry. Now, we get a chance to see just how insane, adult, and comedic the series will be thanks to its first trailer. It definitely delivers on the premise, which centers on a very dysfunctional police department in a backwoods, Southern-fried small town. It's super-violent, sexual, and pulls no punches. It's sure to upset some folks and absolutely delight others, but you can get a solid idea of what you're …...

Updated: Comedy Central is continuing its push into animation, signing a non-exclusive digital development deal with Bento Box Entertainment (Bob’s Burgers).
Under the pact, Bento Box will develop and produce short-form series for digital/social platforms including Facebook Watch and YouTube, working with up-and-coming and established talent that have caught the attention of Comedy Central. If Comedy Central produces a linear series, Bento Box will have first opportunity rights to animate and executive produce the series, something the company is doing for such series as Fox’s Emmy-winning Bob’s Burgers.

Jones previously served as creative director and producer at Fox’s Adhd animation studio, where he created and served as showrunner on Fxx’s Stone Quackers. He also previously created and executive produced Neon Knome for Adult Swim and Problem Solverz for Cartoon Network.
