One day the famous actor Johnny Light bumps into Nicola's restaurant and life in Puglia. They become friends and Johnny who falls in love with Nicola's cuisine invite him to move to LA and become partners but do dreams have an expire date?

Nicola is 45, he runs La Rosa Nera, a small restaurant in Salento, Apulia, in the South of Italy. After the loss of her wife 9 years before he lives alone with his 17 years old daughter, Aqua. He is a wonderful Chef and conveyed his passion to Aqua, who is also becoming very good. A special happening shakes the town: the arrival of an American film crew intent of shooting an advertising campaign with the movie star Johnny Light. During the shooting period the Hollywood star stays in the best hotel in town, owned by Giovanni a very good friend of Nicola. To give the best time to the crew, he decides to book a table for them at Nicola's restaurant where he and her daughter works to make the dinner unforgettable. The actor is so enthusiastic about the restaurant and its pleasant family atmosphere, that starts to go there almost every day. Falling in love with his cuisine Johnny and Nicola become good friends and more than once, Johnny expresses his admiration for Nicola, so nice and true, saying it is not easy to find people to trust in. Nicola feels alive and is totally seduced by the charm of the star. It happens that also Johnny Light owns a restaurant in Hollywood; therefore, before leaving Apulia, he invites Nicola to go to LA to manage his restaurant and become partners. Nicola feels a blessed man, chosen by the "celebrity" to be his friend; he is in heaven and shares his dream with his daughter Aqua, who also wants to experience in a big international restaurant. Everyone in town flatters Nicola, who starts being "almost famous": he is invited to local TV shows and is being interviewed by journalists. While Nicola is often away, he is too focused on organizing his new life in LA, looking for a new house, taking English lessons, and looking for buyers for his Trattoria. This makes Aqua taking care alone of the management of the restaurant, feeling all the heaviness caused by the absence of the father. While he seems to have lost the plot, Aqua is forced to grow fast. Months pass by, but there is no sign from Johnny Light. Aqua no longer believes in this dream, but Nicola doesn't give up and tries to contact him many times but with no success. He is forced to face reality and see what he already has in his life.
