Exclusive: Paradise is adding a high-profile cast member. Shailene Woodley has been tapped for a major recurring role in the upcoming second season of Hulu’s breakout political thriller from creator Dan Fogelman and 20th Television.
No one would comment, but I hear Woodley’s heavy arc is tied to Agent Xavier Collins’ (Sterling K. Brown) mission teed off at the end of the Season 1 finale, with Woodley playing a prominent survivor. Filming on Season 2 is currently underway.
Season 1 of Paradise is streaming on Hulu in the U.S., where it regularly ranked at No. 1 throughout its run, and Disney+ internationally. It will get a full broadcast run on sibling ABC beginning April 7 in the Monday 10 p.m. hour.
Paradise’s well-reviewed first season is set in a serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But the tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs, and a high-stakes investigation unfolds.

On his way to becoming Hollywood's next action star, Alan Ritchson has signed a deal to star in an upcoming Netflix movie called War Machine. Not much is known about the film, except that it stars Ritchson alongside a notable group of action icons. However, the actor who shot to fame by starring in Amazon Prime Video's action series Reacher has come out to say that War Machine will be Netflix's "biggest movie ever." Talk about confidence.
Ritchson was featured in Wired's web series "Autocomplete Interview," where he answered the internet's most-searched questions about him. One of the most frequent questions is "What new movie is Alan Ritchson in?," and the actor used the opportunity to talk about his upcoming feature film War Machine:

Alan Ritchson felt a literal blast from the past stripping down for Reacher season 3.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the Jack Reacher actor broke down a key set piece where Reacher sidesteps the guards at criminal Zachary Beck's mansion by jumping into nearby waters and physically swimming to his contact on the outside. Acknowledging comparisons between Reacher's actions and his first major TV role as Arthur Curry/Aquaman on Smallville, Ritchson said, "Yeah, it was pretty similar because the water was cold, and when I was a child on Smallville, we were in a glacial lake. It was just above freezing, and it felt a little bit like that up in Toronto shooting again. So I was having flashbacks — it's like my 'Nam."

Hollywood loves a larger-than-life action hero, and Alan Ritchson fits the mold perfectly. With his towering presence, sculpted physique, and ability to look intimidating while barely moving a muscle, he’s become the go-to tough guy.
But beyond the on-screen brawls and brooding stares, Ritchson has a personality that’s as sharp as his jawline. He’s got opinions, he’s got wit, and, as it turns out, he’s also got a low tolerance for political nonsense.

While most actors play it safe when it comes to political opinions, lest they alienate a fanbase or accidentally tweet themselves into irrelevance, Ritchson isn’t afraid to speak his mind. And when it comes to his former schoolmate Matt Gaetz, well, let’s just say he’s not sending a Christmas card anytime soon.

Owen Wilson needs a new pair of running sneakers. Why? Because he will need them for a race against the clock in the upcoming action drama Runner. Joining Wilson for the forthcoming feature is Reacher and Fast X star Alan Ritchson. Scott Waugh directs Runner from a Black List script by Tommy White and Miles Hubley.
According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, Runner “follows Hank Malone (Ritchson), a high-end courier who has three hours to transport an organ to save a seven-year-old girl in need of an immediate transplant. The seemingly simple mission turns deadly when the leader of a notorious crime syndicate becomes hell-bent on claiming the organ.”

Comedy and Hollywood icon Eddie Murphy is all set to return to the world of action comedy, but not as Beverly Hills Cop’s Axel Foley. No, this time, Murphy will lead the original action outing Blue Falcon, which finds the Shrek star channeling James Bond as a retired superspy who finds himself in danger while attending his son’s wedding.
According to Deadline, Blue Falcon will be “a two-hander action comedy,” with Sony Pictures having now picked up the rights to the project. If the idea of Eddie Murphy as a retired superspy is not quite enough to have you excited for the action movie shenanigans to come, Blue Falcon has been written by Chad St. John, whose previous writing credits include the action thriller Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner, the Gerard Butler-led action sequel London Has Fallen, and the upcoming Motor City starring Reacher’s Alan Ritchson.

We don't know about you, but there was just something about seeing Eddie Murphy back on laugh-out-loud funny form in last year's Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F that felt right. Sure, Murphy's put in solid work in the likes of You People and Candy Cane Lane in recent years, but his return to the role of Axel Foley was a glowing reminder that the legendary funnyman still has it in him to lead and carry a big comedy star vehicle. And Sony clearly got the memo, as Murphy has been tapped to lead Blue Falcon, an original comedy joint hailing from London Has Fallen writer Chad St. John.
Per Deadline's reporting, Murphy is poised to take on the role of a retired superspy in St. John's film, with the rub being that his character will come face to face with an old rival while trying to build bridges at his estranged son's destination wedding.

With David Corenswet’s Superman all set to debut in the Dcu, it is high time James Gunn selects Batman for his shared universe. Despite Ben Affleck not having a solo film in the Dceu, it was confirmed that he would be stepping down from the role and a new actor would be cast for the upcoming The Brave and the Bold film Gunn announced.
While Robert Pattinson’s Batman is still a great portrayal, Matt Reeves’ insistence on keeping his Batverse grounded in reality will not be the right fit for the more cosmic adventures in the Dcu. Several candidates have popped up over the past few months, but for me, no one else comes close to Alan Ritchson to play Bruce Wayne. Here are three reasons why he is the perfect man for the job.

Though he’s worked steadily in TV and film since the early 2000s, Alan Ritchson got his claim to fame playing ex-military cop Jack Reacher in Amazon Prime Video’s original series, Reacher. Based on the books by Lee Child, Reacher is packed with action-fueled sequences and features a heroic protagonist reminiscent of a knight in shining armor from old storybooks. Now, in Ritchson's upcoming movie, Motor City, he is going against type (sort of).
Taking place in 1970s Detroit, Motor City is a gritty tale of revenge that will still have plenty of action, but this time Ritchson’s character is only out for blood and revenge. While there’s not a whole lot of info pertaining to the Alan Ritchson movie just yet, there’s enough to know that audiences are in for a wild ride.

What Do We Know About the upcoming season 3 of Prime Video’s hit series Reacher? More than you may think. A hit from the moment it premiered, Reacher brought to screen a more faithful adaptation of the Lee Child novels than we got from the Tom Cruise films. With Prime Video having just dropped a new thirty-second trailer, revealing the February 20th release date, let’s dive in and take a look at what is coming up next in the Reacher franchise.
Which novel will be adapted?
The third season will be based on the novel Persuader, the seventh Reacher novel. The novel follows Reacher as he goes undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past. The official book synopsis has some more detail and describes Persuader: “Ten years ago, a key investigation went sour, and someone got away with murder. Now, a chance encounter brings it all back.

$700 dollars to rent a coffee machine?
There were many topics of conversation at this year’s AFM, not least the market’s seismic switch from Santa Monica to Las Vegas and the (slightly more) seismic matter of the U.S. presidential elections, which just so happened to coincide with the first day of the event (in the swing swate of Nevada) on Nov. 5.
But there was also the matter of the various costs involved, including the somewhat eye-watering amount companies were being asked to pay should they want to offer guests coffee in their already expensively rented office rooms in the Palms.
Few sales companies Variety spoke made the splurge. Several — which shall not be named here — snuck their own machines in. Others stuck to water (a small bottle of which was going for about $6.50 in one hotel lobby).
But hideously expensive beverages are all well and good if buyers...

Alan Ritchson has seen his career soar since taking on the role of tough guy Jack Reacher, but his next project will be very different to his return in Reacher Season 3 a movie with almost nothing to say, literally. Motor City is described as a visually driven, near-silent revenge tale. To hammer this home, Ben Foster , who co-stars with Ritchson in the movie, has revealed the film contains just five lines of dialogue.
Everyone has seen that Ritchson can handle himself on-screen, using a lot of muscle to take down bad guys in his hit Prime Video series, or delivering a more dramatic turn in the movie Ordinary Angels. This time around though, Foster revealed in an interview with Collider that both he and Ritchson are being challenged a little differently, with a movie that relies on what you see and not what is being said. Reacher star Alan Ritchson is set to star in a new movie completely different from his usual work. Titled Motor City, Ritchsons new film has limited dialogue focusing instead on being a rock disco revenge film.
Collider recently spoke with Ben Foster, who plays Reynolds in Motor City, about working with Ritchson and how the new film expands his work as an actor. He's very tall and very muscular, and he's very handsome, Foster joked, before getting serious about Ritchsons acting ambitions. Hes terrific as a mover. I think he wants to do some deeper work or rather different kinds of work than he's been doing, and that's a joy. Motor City is currently in production, with Shailene Woodley (Divergent) and Pablo Schreiber (Halo) set to star alongside Ritchson and Foster.

Amiable Josh seems on the surface to have the perfect life: accomplished wife (Cobie Smulders), son (William Kosovic) and a new house. Problem is, fatal car accidents happen with some frequency — and quite graphically — in Josh’s front yard, breaking apart his thin veneer of a life. Jason Buxton’s “Sharp Corner” stars Ben Foster as the almost anonymous Josh, the human equivalent of khakis and a white button-down shirt. Buxton imbues the film with tension, and as the likable Foster takes John into increasingly obsessive behavior, the film finds more horror movie elements in the banality of the normal. Foster is busy — he was in Venice to support John Swab’s “King Ivory,” which unspooled in the Horizons Extra section — and calls “King Ivory” “an exploration of import export of fentanyl and the cost of that.”
“Sharp Corner” world premieres Sept. 6 at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival. Neon Intl.

Alan Ritchson, the star of Prime Video’s hit series “Reacher,” is set to showcase his versatility in a new action-packed revenge thriller, “Motor City.” The film, directed by Potsy Ponciroli, promises to present Ritchson in a role that diverges significantly from his portrayal of the ultra-confident Jack Reacher.
In “Motor City,” Ritchson will play John Miller, a wrongfully convicted Detroit mechanic who embarks on a brutal quest for vengeance against those who framed him. The actor recently shared glimpses of his physical transformation for the role on social media, revealing a dramatic departure from his “Reacher” persona. Ritchson’s new look features longer hair, a leaner physique, and even modified teeth, underlining his commitment to creating a distinct character.
“My goal is always to make a character as real for you as humanly possible,” Ritchson stated, emphasizing his dedication to the craft. “I refuse to play myself. You’ve...

Alan Ritchson to star in Motor City, a revenge flick set in Detroit. Ritchson's character in Motor City sounds like a darker, more broken character than Jack Reacher. Motor City must avoid falling into the John Wick clone trap and establish its unique identity.
Alan Ritchson's next role sounds a lot more like John Wick than his current role in Reacher. With filming on season 3 of Reacher coming to a close, the actor is now set to shift gears to star in the upcoming film Motor City. Co-starring Shailene Woodley, Ben Foster, and Pablo Schreiber, Motor City is a period-piece revenge flick set in Detroit that sees Alan Ritchson going through a huge physical transformation to play the wrongfully convicted John Miller.
The film will likely demand a far different performance from the confidence he brings to Reacher, which is an exciting prospect for Alan Ritchson amidst his recent career hot-streak.

Alan Ritchson transforms for Motor City role, shedding Reacher's bulk and more. Ritchson credits a team for his transformation, including nutritionist, hair stylist, and tattoo artist. Motor City, a revenge story, has not yet been given a release date, but the actor will return in Reacher season 3 in 2025.
Alan Ritchson has undergone a surprising transformation for his latest role, ditching the short, simple hairstyle and behemoth bulk of Reacher for long locks and a thinner (but still huge) frame. The actor took to social media to share how his new character, the lead of the upcoming action movie Motor City from Old Henry director Potsy Ponciroli, has been achieved. You can check out how different Ritchson looks from Jack Reacher below, as well as what he had to say about his role in Motor City.

Alan Ritchson has transformed himself into another character for his next project. This seems to suggest that the third season of Reacher has wrapped filming, though an official announcement hasn't been made.
On Instagram, Ritchson shared a new video that shows the actor undergoing a physical transformation to play another unique character. He can be seen undergoing a process to make his teeth less white, and another part of the video shows Ritchson looking at himself while sporting a long-haired wig. The caption of the Instagram post clarifies that this is for his next unnamed role, and if he's already transforming into someone else, Ritchson is likely done with his scenes for Reacher Season 3.

Alan Ritchson is probably the biggest star in Hollywood at the moment, but that's about to change as the big guy is already in the process of shrinking down for his next role. Ritchson hinted that his work on the third season of Reacher has already come to an end, as he prepares for his next project, Motor City. The thriller, directed by Timur Bekmambetov, sees Ritchson play John Miller, a Detroit man released from prison, who goes on a twisted journey of brutal, violent retribution against those who put him in there in the first place.

Two shady figures walk into a club, raising the suspicions of Detective Axel Foley. Foley needs help to deal with both men, but the pair of officers keeping an eye on him — Sergeant Taggart (John Ashton) and Detective Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) — don’t trust him. Furthermore, he’s in a public place, which means that his actions could harm civilians.
After his pleading convinces Taggart and Rosewood to help out, Axel approaches one of the potential troublemakers.
“Phillip!” Foley shouts, adopting the stagger and slurred speech patterns of a drunk man as he approaches the confused suspect. Foley continues the act even after the suspect pulls a gun and threatens the patrons, which allows him to get close enough to yank the weapon away.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Justified: City Primeval” Episode 8, “The Question” — the season, or series, finale.]
In the end, Timothy Olyphant’s scrupulous U.S. Marshal wants what every other beleaguered public servant wants at the end of a long, hard day: a good night’s sleep. That’s it. That’s all he asks. Anyone who knows beloved crime novelist Elmore Leonard only through Justified, the 2010 TV adaptation of his work, might be confused as to why its reboot, Justified: City Primeval, moves the action from the hollers of Harlan County, Kentucky to the rust belt of Detroit, Michigan.
That confusion is understandable as Justified enjoys one of the most richly-realized settings in modern television history. Despite filming nearly the entirety of its six-season run in Southern California (the pilot was shot in Pittsburgh), FX‘s saga about an anachronistic stetson-wearing lawman was absolutely steeped in Appalachian realness. Indeed, the entire premise of the show revolved around Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) being forced to relocate back to his troubled Kentucky hometown following a questionably “justified” shooting of a crime lord in Miami.
Justified quite simply does not work without its Harlan County setting. The weight of history bears down on...
