Story:
The film opens in Burma, many years ago, with Samudra (Amyra) falling in love with Murugesan (Dhanush). Circumstances tear them apart, but decades later Madhumitha (Amyra), allegedly the reincarnation of Samudra, has glimpses of the past. She meets people who are rebirths of the ones she moved closely with, in what she believes to be her previous birth in Burma. Eventually, Madhu meets Ashwin (Dhanush), reincarnation of Murugesan. But is it only about the love that survives time, and joins hands in the next birth? Or, are all her dreams about the hallucinations from use of drugs? Will it help solve real mysteries? Watch the movie to find out.
Cast:
Dhanush chooses not by heroism, but by story. And hence, trust him when the man who went unflinchingly through 33 scripts, has chosen to nod to KV Anand. 'Anegan' casts him in multiple roles - each for every time period that the film casts him in; and he makes his presence deeply felt - be it the wage worker with the mind of a precise engineer, or even the knight in the heroine's dreams. Amyra is paired with Dhanush in all those eras, but the performance of hers that stands out the most is as Madhumitha. It is quite a task to behave quirky and also come across as being honest in the same package; as Madhu, she manages to get her levels insanity impact you straight out of the screen. And bow down to Karthik! Madhu's boss Kiran, like every other character, Karthik also has a role in one of the stories of the work-stressed heroine. But in every scene, Karthik justifies why he is hailed as being extraordinary.
Picture:
Film by KV Anand, so rest assured for the visuals, as they are undoubtedly world class. Credit goes to Om Prakash to have highlighted each era with the complimenting tinge of colour, and for recreating the heroine's dreams as how it really is dreamt. Given the multi-layered story, the screenplay takes many twists and confusing turns. But in the end, that's what ensures to glue you to the seat. With mystery at every level, the screenplay makes you want to wait and watch. Thanks to Anthony for putting it all together crisply.
Music:
What could have been better:
Though narrated as convincingly as possible, the heroism fails to hail as high as aimed, owing to what you could fairly see coming up.
1. At every twist of suspense, you end up concluding the next move, predictably. However, story at large remains concealed.
2. CG in the scene of accident and climax could have been done better.
What comes as surprise:
The moments to cherish in the movie, span farther than the much awaited 'Danga Maari'. The song is worth the wait, alright, but there are other portions that treat us equally happy.
1. Picturing of songs are classy
2. Action sequences are complete and logical. Also, unnecessary fight possibilities are avoided, saving peace.
3. Despite the absence of a dedicated comedy track, there are many a light moments.
4. Dialogues are precise - Subha has nailed it!
5.Everyone is addicted to the album, and Harris keeps the josh intact in the theatres as well. However songs are quite a many, which acts as friction to the flow of story. Background score is refreshing and racy, making the movie experience enjoyable.
6.Dhanush and Kartick has steal the show by their performance..
'Anegan' savours all tastes. There is action, a little bit of revenge, lighthearted comedy, smothering love, all served with a twist from the usual.
Rating: 8/10
Verdict: Twists and Turns,A different love story for Tamil cinema.........

Verdict: Twists and Turns,A different love story for Tamil cinema.........
Dhanush a mass hero needed that mass element which is been added to the script with satisfaction of his fans ...liked the way the backbone of the story which was hard to understand because of the masala element included but in the end director has made us utter as a different script a good film rather it could have been a all time classic Tamil movie...,if the business elements would have been avoided and much more concentration given on the wonderful story line ... any way a good movie to watch with the dangamari song stealing the claps from the audience and makes us feel to watch that song again ... Acting is excellent specially heroin and dhanush who excels asusal to his best the first half makes us sit with some not to good feel but the second half pulls the topgear a moves fast and interesting with knots untangled Director has been at his best in making the audience believe an unbelievable imaginary concept with the Love as the linking element cinematography is excellent art work losses some continuity editor best to the director expectations graphic was good overall a must watch
Reincarnation, never ending romance and the interconnectivity of the different stories in one single film, the simple narration of the complex story just multiplies the curiosity among the audience, it's about the 2015 Tamil release ''Anegan''.
Story revolves in and around the serial murder mystery that is been revealed by the lady as if she is experiencing some sort of Déjà vu, the interconnectivity with every story makes the perfect narration, this film seems to be moving in the fast phase but the crispy editing and the grooming screenplay makes the flow interesting, Harris rocks with his very catchy tones, though the storyline seems to be repeated ones it has very unique way of presentation and designing, the highlight of this movie is of course Dhanush who is marvellous in all the role he played on-screen, he grab the attention of the audience with his mesmerizing performance and transforming looks, and Amyra seems to have the confidence presence, her expressions are of top and are convincing, Karthik is an another person to be appreciated for his antagonist shade.
Anegan seems to be losing its grip in some phase but the perfect on time performances by actors patch it up, K V Anand had given some most interesting stuff with fast narrative line, casting and the peculiar settings could be added as its winning strategy, whether it's a romantic scene or the aggressive outburst of the lead its presentation has those intense feelings that absorbs its viewers into it and the romance gets the special preference in the movie.

Director K.V.Anand who brought us blockbusters like Ayan and Ko took a different story line it seems.I like the twists in this movie.Although the story has many character, actor Dhanush played it well.Navarasa nayagan is back with his superb performance. As this one for Valentine day special, it has nice romantic story with thrilling ending. The interconnected story keeps us in the story track. The songs bring complete understanding of the track. The fight scenes well taken and also not covered up many scenes but limited.Expected song "Danga Maari" was nice in the screenplay and everyone enjoyed it.Character linking with different stories was perfect with each love stories in it.But i could predict the ending little bit.
As a whole, this movie keeps me entertained back to back with comedy, love and thrilling.

The movie revolves around a girl (Madhu), who remembers her previous births. In every era, there forms a love story between the lead pairs.
Director K.V. Anand had mixed the reincarnation concept with some commercial elements to satisfy the audience. The major positive of the film is its lead cast, the hype around the story and rich visuals.
Dhanush had delivered one of his best performance in the film. He was very good in his characters Murugappa and Kaali. And the surprise package is Amyra Dastur. In this film, the lead heroine had much scope for her performance in the film and she had done her job with ease.
Supporting actors, like Karthik, Ashish Vidhyarthi and Mukesh Tiwari have also done their part well. 'Danga Maari' song is the pick of the film and that would be a treat for the audience.
The negative sides are few. The flick resembles to be a modern version of yesteryear Tamil blockbuster film "Nenjam Marappathillai" and final moments of the film are quite predictable, alike all Tamil films.
Forget the negatives. Overall, the film gives you a little fantasy feel and unlike his previous flick, director K.V. Anand had concentrated well on the screenplay and mixed some moments of suspense to keep the audience engaged to this romance flick.
This movie is worth your money and time. Do watch it !

- TriviaKV Anand revealed that Ilayathalapathy Vijay was his first choice for Anegan as he wrote the script with the actor in his mind. But unfortunately, due to his prior commitments for AR Murugadoss' Kaththi, Vijay had turned down the film. The cinematographer-turned director even mentioned that it was Vijay who had put forward Dhanush's name for the film. So that's how Dhanush landed himself into Anegan.
- Alternate versionsThe UK release was cut, the distributor chose to remove elements of strong violence (in this instance, blood spurts from gunshots, bloody stabbings, and the chopping off of a finger) in order to obtain a 12A classification. An uncut 15 classification was available.
