You Gotta Believe stars Luke Wilson and Greg Kinnear as the coaches of an underdog Little League baseball team. This rag-tag group makes it to the Little League World Series in this semi-uplifting sports movie based on a true story. Unfortunately, You Gotta Believe doesn't transcend or subvert the well-worn genre, opting to tell a disorganized narrative that doesn't develop its characters enough to earn its climactic ending. Directed by Ty Roberts and written by Lane Garrison, You Gotta Believe will likely be a blip on the radar for audiences and the actors in the film.

A classic star actor from The Sandlot makes an appearance in the inspirational new baseball movie You Gotta Believe. You Gotta Believe is based on the inspirational true story of a 2002 Little League baseball team from Fort Worth, Texas. The film was released on August 30, 2024 and also stars Luke Wilson and Greg Kinnear. Wilson's Bobby Ratliff and Kinnear's Jon Kelly were two of the key figures in the unlikely underdog story that turned a group of baseball-loving kids from Texas into one of the most memorable teams in Little League World Series history.
The Sandlot is still considered one of the greatest and most iconic baseball movies ever made, particularly due to its focus on youth baseball in a "pickup" and "backyard" format. The Sandlot grossed $34 million against its $7 million budget upon its theatrical release in 1993. The Sandlot takes place in the summer of 1962 and becomes as much of a...

Cate Blanchett charmed Venice Film Festival on Thursday night as Alfonso Cuarón’s new erotic Apple TV+ series “Disclaimer” received a five-minute standing ovation.
The two-time Oscar winner was the star attraction on the Lido, with the crowd inside the Sala Grande bursting into applause when she made her entrance ahead of the screening. Blanchett was dressed in a sleek black pantsuit with an open back draped in pearls, while co-star Sacha Baron Cohen went 007-style with a white tuxedo jacket.
Adding some Gen-z kudos to the occasion, singer Olivia Rodrigo was in attendance in support of her boyfriend Louis Partridge, who also stars in the series. However, she didn’t walk the carpet and sat a few seats away from the actor. After the screening, she ignored attempts by several members of the crowd to catch her attention as they shouted “Olivia!”

We are pleased to launch an exclusive first look at Timothy Spall and Colm Meaney in the UK poster for The Journey – the story of two of Northern Ireland’s political forces, loyalist Ian Paisley and former Ira Commander Martin McGuinness, forced together over the final peace agreement, who reluctantly begin to form a bond.

Had Sylvester Stallone had his way, the now cult classic Beverly Hills Cop would have been a much different film. Yet the Italian Stallion had other ideas in mind for what he wanted the film to be, so he took it upon himself to rewrite the script, moulding it to suit his strengths as a white-knuckled mortal terminator. From Guardians Of The Galaxy to Godzilla, and Noah to Paddington, our pick of 2014's finest film soundtracks and scores.
After Gravity blew your eardrums out of the airlock in 2013 with its seamless mix of sound effects and music, it was hard to imagine a film wowing just as much the year after, but 2014 was a year in which movie soundtracks became, if anything, even more intricate, from films about the nature of being a musician to those that replicated the noise of human existence for alien senses.
Before 2014 becomes a distant ringing in the ears, here are the top 14 movie soundtracks of the year.
1. Under the Skin (Mica Levi)
Once you've heard Mica Levi's soundtrack to Under the Skin, everything else sounds both disappointing and even more exciting. I say 'soundtrack' because, like the best movies, Jonathan Glazer's sci-fi understands that sound and music are two halves of the same hastily-conceived metaphor.

The soccer drama Believe is now available on VOD, and to celebrate we have an exclusive look at the film with a new clip featuring stars Brian Cox, Philip Jackson and a cast of young, up and coming football hooligans.
Set in the 1980s, some 10 years after his retirement as one of Manchester United's most famed coaches, Sir Matt Busby (Brian Cox) is restless in the twilight of his life. Georgie is an 11-year-old working class kid whose widowed mother (Natascha McElhone) is doing her best to keep him out of trouble. Georgie tries to steal Sir Matt's wallet only to be tracked down, which we see here in this scene.
This fun and fictional tale puts the real-life legendary soccer coach (of England's Manchester United team) coming out of retirement when he discovers that far from being just another young thief, Georgie is an extraordinarily gifted soccer player and...

McElhone admits that her football supporting son was the inspiration getting involved in this piece, though she discusses the universal themes explored and why this picture can appeal to absolutely anybody.

When it comes to portraying such a renowned character – just as Brian Cox does in Believe, where he takes on the role of the renowned Manchester United manager Sir Matt Busby, those most prominently in mind when it comes to doing justice to the real person, tend to be the close family. So for Cox, he knew he had to turn in a performance of the highest quality, especially with the subject’s son Sandy watching on. Well, it seems he must have done a commendable, respectful job – because we had the pleasure in interviewing the pair, together.
We asked Sandy about his own memories in regards to the real life story this is based upon, and given his reservations in the past of dramatic retellings of his father’s life, what it was about Believe that he was so comfortable with. “It’s not just about football – it’s about dreams”, is a line uttered by Brian Cox’s Matt Busby, in David Scheinmann’s accessible, family drama Believe, a statement that is somewhat indicative of the entire production, as a film that certainly won’t alienate those not quite so informed about football. Instead this is a traditional story of the working class underdog, an area British cinema so often excels – but sadly, not quite as triumphantly in this instance.
The year is 1984, and former Manchester United manager – and legend – Sir Matt Busby is struggling with retirement, missing the adrenaline and exhilaration from a life in the dugout, and haunted by the memories of the Munich Air Disaster, which saw a large proportion of his team and staff killed. However when he stumbles across the talented youngster Georgie Gallagher (Jack Smith), he finds his passion returns, and is inspired to...

Adam Rehmeier, director of the controversial The Bunny Game (2010) and the acclaimed Jonas (2013), is ready to pull the trigger on his next film, Save A Bullet For Me. This violent western / action / horror picture is slated to begin shooting later this year in British Columbia.
Rehmeier is no stranger to touching nerves and stirring outcry - The Bunny Game sparked protest worldwide, and was banned in the UK - and his new screenplay seems primed to continue the trend. Set in the Us during the 1800s, the blood-splattered film focuses on the aftermath of a brutal massacre, and two wounded frontiersmen who make a desperate last stand against a Native American war party. Writer/director Rehmeier describes the movie as “a visceral, animal of a film, stripped down to the most primal fight-or-flight level possible.”

Rewind back three years from today and Tottenham Hotspur were sitting fourth in the Barclays Premier League, two points ahead of fifth placed Manchester City and just four behind their North London rivals. That season saw Spurs qualify for the greatest European club competition in sport, the Uefa Champions League.
So where has it all gone wrong for Tottenham since?
The 2010/11 season was tremendous experience for all Spurs fans. They enjoyed an epic journey in the Champions League, beating Europe’s elite in Werder Bremen, Fc Twente and both Milan clubs, including a memorable event when Peter Crouch scored in the dying minutes at the San Siro, which no doubt put chills down the spines of most neutral football fans. That result put them through to a tough quarter final draw against Real Madrid which proved to be an end to their dreams and sent them crashing back down to reality.

Ashley Young scored his second goal in the space of a week to help Manchester United end their miserable run of defeats at Old Trafford and move up to seventh in the Premier League.
Danny Welbeck had earlier opened the scoring with a low strike into the bottom corner before Adnan Januzaj powered in a close-ranged effort before Young’s clincher.
Substitute Carlton Cole pulled one back late on, though it was of scant consolation as United exercised control over their opponents with a dominant performance.
United did all the early running, with Tom Cleverley seeing his sliding shot palmed out by Adrian after just three minutes before Rooney sent a free-kick from the edge of the area just over.
But the home side would not have long to wait before taking the lead, Welbeck drilling in Rooney’s assist on the left side of the box...

Brian Cox, Natascha McElhone, Anne Reid and Philip Jackson have joined the cast of David Scheinmann’s "Theatre Of Dreams" for Bill and Ben Productions and Trinity Films says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story is a coming-of-age drama about how Manchester United’s legendary manager Matt Busby helps an 11-year-old rascal (Jack Smith) fulfil his footballing dreams. Though Busby is a real person, the story itself is not based on a true one.
The title refers to the ground where the English soccer team plays. Shooting takes place in Manchester this month and next for release next year.
