Dirty Words

Blue Streak (1971)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Filmmaker Mark Rappaport's first movie clocks in at 16 minutes and is just as interesting as all of his work. What we've basically got here is a movie showing you dirty images and words. The first portion has us looking at some nude people standing around while there are subtitles showing us dirty words. We then see clean images while a narrator says dirty phrases. This here basically goes back and forth throughout the running time. Rappaport would go onto make some of the most interesting documentaries out there because his style is truly original and one of a kind. This short here will entertain his fans but I do think there are some problems including the fact that it runs way too long for its own good. I think it might have helped had the images done more than just basically stand still. With that said, it's an interesting movie and those familiar with the director's work will want to check it out.
