Back in May we got our first look at Bill Oberst, Jr., in the found footage saga of The Black Water Vampire, and now, with Image Entertainment set to release the film in early 2014, a trailer has arrived. Check it out, and look for more soon.

Director / writer / producer Jesse Baget has quite a diverse roster of films he's worked on already in his short career. He's made everything from horror films to comedies and dramas. Baget has been fortunate to recruit some big-name actors for his films like Tom Sizemore and Stacy Keach. His latest film, Breathless, features an impressive cast which includes Val Kilmer, Ray Liotta, and Gina Gershon. I had the opportunity to interview Baget while he was doing press for the movie, which is available on Blu-ray and DVD now.

It’s absolutely no surprise that writer-director Jesse Baget, of this week’s “Breathless,” is a massive fan of the Coen Brothers. His characters are articulate without being too bright, magnanimous despite moments of cruelty, and loyal in spite of overwhelming greed. Jesse Baget’s 2012 twisted dark comedy Breathless isn’t nearly as shocking as you’d think. What is shocking is the strong performances by leading ladies Gina Gershon and Kelli Giddish. Aside from their constant back and forth the film has troubles finding its footing and becoming memorable. Breathless is bloody, sometimes funny, but mostly just something that overstays its welcome.

Lorna (Gina Gershon) is a fed up wife that just doesn’t buy into the bullshit that her husband Dale (Val Kilmer) feeds her. He’s up to no good and he’s stolen a great deal of money, with plans to cut and bail without so much as a phone call. This upsets Lorna, so she calls over her best friend Tiny (Kelli Giddish) and they plot up a way to get rid of Dale and take off with his money.

Jesse Baget’s newest dark comedy/thriller Breathless is coming to Blu-Ray in just a couple of weeks and today we have a brand new red band trailer, plus a brief clip from the film, which stars Gina Gershon, Kelli Giddish, Val Kilmer and Ray Liotta.

First up is the red band trailer, which offers up a mostly awkward approach to the whole situation, which doesn’t come off as funny as you’d think. The film is about two friends that try and steal money from one of their husbands, by killing him and somehow getting rid of the body before the sheriff gets wind of the whole situation.

It looks like a horror/comedy hybrid that doesn’t really nestle in the dark category as much as it nestles in the oddly toned category. I’m all for the occasional weird horror comedy, but Breathless might be crossing...

This August, Anchor Bay Films presents the gory, cunning comedy/thriller Breathless from Wrestlemaniac director Jesse Baget. The film hits DVD and Blu-ray on August 14th.

Lorna (Gina Gershon) is a strong-willed Texas woman who’s had enough of her untrustworthy husband Dale’s (Val Kilmer) criminal acts and lack of husbandry. Fed up, she enlists the help of her old friend, Tiny (Kelli Giddish), to help her figure out what to do with Dale after his latest double-cross involving the theft of $100,000 from a bank.

As the girls brainstorm for a “neat” solution, they medicate themselves with only the best of prescriptions - Tennessee whiskey - which leads them to even bigger problems. When Sheriff Cooley (Ray Liotta) inconveniently enters the conundrum, the story evolves into a tale of revenge and survival that resolves in true Texas fashion: bold and ruthless.

Accroding to Deadline, the film follows "a small-town Southern beauty queen (Temple) who is on the run from a ruthless killer (Cage) determined to retrieve diamonds he stole during a murderous heist. Lila Belle Clyde, who walks away with the loot, is a former beauty queen who wants to get away from New Orleans. To do that, she needs to elude authorities, a dogged news reporter, and Odel, a self-described wolf determined to hunt her down and recover his swag."

The movie will be directed by Jesse Baget (Breathless) from a script he wrote with Stefania Moscato. I can see Cage having a fun time overacting the villainous role in this movie. He loves to overact with those crazy eyes of his. ...

Nicolas Cage, Juno Temple and Johnny Knoxville have signed on to star in "Wild Side," a road trip action film to be directed by Jesse Baget. Shooting is set to begin on July 23rd in Louisiana. The story follows Lila Belle Clyde, a small-town Southern beauty queen (Temple) who is on the run from a ruthless killer, named Odel (Cage), who's determined to retrieve diamonds he stole during a murderous heist. Lila wants to get away from New Orleans. To do that, she needs to elude authorities, a news reporter, and Odel. Baget most recently directed Breathless with Gina Gershon, Ray Liotta and Val Kilmer.

With Nicolas Cage already being one of the craziest actors in Hollywood, what could one possibly add to the mix to heighten the insanity? Director Jesse Baget may have the recipe, as Jackass star Johnny Knoxville will join the actor in his upcoming road trip drama Wild Side. Deadline reports on the project, which also has indie starlet Juno Temple (on the verge of breaking out in The Dark Knight Rises) starring in the film.

Baget, who co-wrote the script with Stefania Moscato last directed Breathless (no, not that one) with Val Kilmer and Ray Liotta. Never heard of it? Yeah, me neither and it came out this year. For his next, Baget has an assembled an interesting cast and could prove himself a worthy director, but my hope is he taps into the antics of his two leads. This one could go either way but in the meantime, check out the synopsis below.
