There’s always something magical about Woodstock for all musicians.
“Always Woodstock” is a coming of age story for an aspiring singer, Catherine Brown, who was stuck at a dead end job in New York City at a mega music record label. She spends her days as a wrangler for the company’s most difficult star. After she was fired for an incident with the company’s most important talent, she came home to her long-time fiancée in the arms of another woman. It triggered a change for her to move back home to Woodstock where she meets a handsome doctor, Noah, and writes music with the help of a local musical legend Lee Ann. As she starts to learn about love again, she realizes that becoming successful means becoming your true self first.

Though Allison Miller may be best known for TV roles such as Michelle Benjamin in Kings, Skye in Terra Nova and Carrie in Go On, the actress is starting to make some waves on the big screen as well. After starring in the thriller Devil's Due earlier this year, the actress takes on a far less frightening role as the eccentric Catherine Brown in the indie Always Woodstock, which is available in select theaters and on VOD formats starting today, November 14.
The actress portrays Catherine Brown, who has a soul-sucking job working for a major record label, but she really wants to write her own music. After she catches her boyfriend Garret (Jason Ritter), an emotionally unstable actor, cheating on her, she decides to move back to her childhood home in Woodstock, New York. "Quirky" is almost an understatement when describing Catherine, who has a bizarre habit of screaming silently,...

This weekend’s onslaught of smaller new films will have awards contenders and big names to jostle with at the box office. Awards hopefuls Foxcatcher and The Homesman begin their theatrical runs in limited New York and L.A. rollouts, with the former a likely winner in the first weekend when the numbers come in Sunday. The films from Sony Pictures Classics and Roadside Attractions, respectively, tell particularly American stories, though from very different eras. The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart took time off in 2013 to work on his directorial debut. Open Road’s Rosewater, starring Gael García Bernal, will begin its theatrical rollout this weekend. It will be the biggest opener of this weekend’s cadre of specialty newcomers, playing in several hundred locations in the U.S. and Canada. Actor Chris Lowell also makes his filmmaking launch with Beside Still Waters. The project had smooth sailing until it came time for distribution,...

In just four years, since his breakout roles in 2010's You Again and the critically-acclaimed but short-lived drama series Lone Star, James Wolk has put together an impressive string of performances. While he's best known, of late, for playing Bob Benson on AMC's Mad Men, he has also showed off his diverse talents in For a Good Time, Call..., Shameless, Happy Endings, Political Animals and The Crazy Ones. The actor returns to the big screen this weekend in the charming indie Always Woodstock, opening in select theaters and on VOD formats November 14.
The story centers on the quirky Catherine Brown, stuck in a miserable job at a New York record label, who decides she needs a change of pace. She packs up everything and moves to her family home in Woodstock, New York. It's there she meets charming local doctor Noah Bernstein (James Wolk)

2014 has been a good year for redemption-through-music stories, with high points such as God Help the Girl and My Little Pony: Equestria Girls — Rainbow Rocks and lesser efforts such as Rudderless.
