See, this is the kind of thing Roseanne's Nuts was made for. What a waste that it happened now. “I’m never going to work in television again. I’m never going to even attempt it,” Roseanne Barr declared on Twitter this weekend, describing a host of problems that have allegedly cropped up while developing her NBC pilot with Nurse Jackie showrunner Linda Wallem. Revealed Barr,“They had less than no interest in including me in the development of a show that was built on 'my brand'. It was horrible, but I kept on." Roseanne later hyped her upcoming web series, which will apparently "feature nudity, obscene language, violence politically incorrect analysis & channelling The Immutable Goddess." Roseanne has since deleted some of her tweets, but suffice it to say you missed out on some piping hot grade-a Twitter beef.

Roseanne Barr is a soundbite machine -- and during a very candid interview at Comic-Con on Thursday, she didn't hold back, dissing her former reality show and one-time "Roseanne" writer Chuck Lorre. She also thinks John Goodman would make an amazing zombie. The 60-year-old comedian was one of the special guests for TV Land's Comic-Con panel, where toofab's Brian Particelli and a small group of journalists got to ask her about anything their little hearts desired.Check out the best bites from the incredibly candid conversation below:Would you ever appear on "The Big Bang Theory" to reunite with her former costar Johnny Galecki?"I probably wouldn't go on "The Big Bang" because me and Chuck Lorre, we're not friends. He should get over it. He's in AA and when people are in AA they're not very forgiving. They need to start drinking and loosen up, I think!"A little back...

NBC is set to develop a new Roseanne Barr comedy according to THR, Deadline and Variety. Universal Television has signed Barr on to develop a comedy for Barr to star in and produce. Her partners include Steven Greener, who worked with Barr on the Lifetime reality series "Roseanne's Nuts" in 2011. Barr is currently a guest star on IFC's clever comedy "Portlandia" playing an interim mayor while Portland's mayor (played by Kyle MacLachlan) is "off the grid" over guilt induced by the outing of his incessant printing with his "pet" Prints, a closeted copy machine.

Having strained the very bounds of satire and plucked fanciful japes about the likes of Charlie Sheen and Donald Trump seemingly from thin air, the Comedy Central Roast has given itself the relatively simpler task of insulting Roseanne Barr for an August 4 broadcast, utilizing many of her well-known foibles and flaws for the making of lighthearted merriment. For instance, there is Barr's famous predilection for macadamia nuts: "Your reality show was called Roseanne's Nuts. That was true, because you are nuts!" one comedian, perhaps Jeffrey Ross might say—maybe even adding, "It also sounds like you've ...

Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Her reality show Roseanne's Nuts was cancelled by Lifetime after one season, but Roseanne Barr is bouncing back with a new scripted production deal. NBC picked up Downwardly Mobile for a pilot deal, according to Deadline. The multi-camera sitcom focuses on a working class family living in a mobile home community with their friends, all of whom are struggling in today's economy. Barr co-created the show with boyfriend John Argent and former Roseanne executive producer Eric Gilliland. This comes fourteen years after NBC passed on Roseanne, the working class sitcom that later made a successful nine year run on ABC. Downwardly Mobile is in the same familiar territory as Barr's last scripted run, as the actress feels society is in as similar a place as it was twenty years ago.

Television's leading blue collar lady is back. And now, it has nothing to do with nuts.
Fourteen years after her all-time successful sitcom "Roseanne" wrapped its final season, Roseanne Barr has just sold a new scripted comedy to NBC. Called "Downwardly Mobile," it will feature Barr as a member of a mobile home community, emphasizing once again her working class roots in what the network hopes is as successful a formula as it was the last time. Her first show unseated "The Cosby Show" from the top spot in the Nielsen ratings in March, 1989, and went on to years of ratings dominance.
The new show, which was first announced to be in development in August, presented a working class ethic could resonate with viewers in difficult economic times. Representing the true core of America's struggling citizenry has long been Barr's creative goal.

Perhaps Roseanne's Nuts just made for a shell of a series. Lifetime canceled the reality show after one season after a strong premiere (1.63 million viewers) gave way to a mass exodus of eyeballs. The show followed Roseanne Barr's oddest foray into domesticity yet—her recently adopted existence as a macadamia nut farmer in Hawaii, along with boyfriend John Argent and her son Jake. The series' last episode was Sept. 16, but, reading that synopsis over again...aren't you kind of sorry you didn't watch?...

Would you say that you found "Roseanne's Nuts" unappetizing?
Pardon, we jest, but the triple entendre title of Roseanne Barr's reality series is hard to write about seriously -- make that was.
Lifetime has canceled the series after just one season, according to the star, who posted the news on Twitter on Sept. 21.
"Roseanne's Nuts has been canceled," she writes. "Thanks everyone for watching!"
The unscripted series followed Barr and longtime boyfriend Johnny Argent on their Hawaiian farm, where they manage 40 acres of macadamia nut and livestock.
Barr shouldn't be too shaken up by the decision, though. The 58-year-old comedian, who may or may not be running for president, has new series in the works at 20th Century Fox TV.

Roseanne Barr's story is one that might inspire young girls like the ones she was charged with speaking to on Wednesday's episode of 'Roseanne's Nuts' (Wednesdays, 9Pm on Lifetime). But according to her boyfriend Johnny Argent, the first draft of that story probably looks pretty ugly.
Argent tried to help Roseanne with the speech, but she resisted him much of the way. "I'm giving a speech tonight to girls, and who better to help me write that speech than a 62-year-old cranky curmudgeon such as John Argent," she said.
Argent wondered how Roseanne fought her way to the top in show business with such poor writing skills. "Sometimes when I look over Roseanne's early drafts of her writing I think, how could somebody that smart come up with this?" he said. "I'm learning disabled, for sure, replied Roseanne. "But you know, that's why I'm smart.

[1] The steady stream of television news continues today with a couple of interesting announcements. After the jump, read about the "near miss" of a television adaptation of Vertigo comic book series Dmz, Rosanne Barr's return to sitcom television, and a fifth-season renewal for True Blood. Earlier this week, comic book writer Brian Wood wrote on his blog [2] about the scrapping of a television adaptation of his Vertigo comic series Dmz. We also had a near miss with setting Dmz up as a television show, at a verrrry respectable network, and its a bit crushing. I had hoped the whole new “DC Entertainment” meant they’d be better about this sort of thing… and this deal seemed like a gift from heaven… but apparently not. While it's possible that Wood will be able to put together another deal for a live-action adaptation at some point in the future, it seems...

While her official TV series comeback has been a little nuts -- macadamia, to be exact -- Roseanne Barr is now in the process of returning to her true wheelhouse.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy-winning actress, whose sitcom "Roseanne" spent much of the 1990s as the number one show in the ratings, is plotting a comeback to the scripted comedy series. If that sounds familiar, it's no accident; Barr has dedicated much of her life to bringing a portrait of real working class Americans to a normally glamorous Hollywood.

Queen of nineties TV comedy Roseanne Barr is staging a comeback (her current reality show Roseanne's Nuts doesn't count, in my book), and is currently developing a new sitcom with 20th Century Fox. The series, Downwardly Mobile, would primarily be a star vehicle for Barr, and will center around a blue-collar family trying to get by in a bad economy. In other words, the exact same plot as Roseanne, with maybe a few tweaks here and there. It may not be a huge artistic departure for Barr, but as far as I'm concerned, this is the best TV-related news since Mad Men came to Netflix streaming. Welcome back, [...]...

This week on 'Roseanne's Nuts' (Wed., 9Pm Et on Lifetime), star Roseanne Barr went out of her way to live up to the title of her show, impulsively buying a truck in order to distribute vegetables to the homeless, much to her family's disapproval.
The idea was nice, in theory, but Barr's daughter, Jenny, was there to be the voice of reason for her headstrong mom.
"I'm just gonna drive it around and give people food," Barr explained, to which her daughter reasonably pointed out, "I think that's illegal."

Quick suggestion: "Roseanne's Nuts" may not be the best campaign slogan.
Appearing Thursday on "The Tonight Show," Roseanne Barr made a big announcement: she's seeking the Presidency of the United States. The former sitcom star, who now has a reality show focusing on her macadamia farm in Hawaii, told Leno that she wanted to move into the Oval Office.
After shouting out medicinal marijuana, she pitched nuts' nutritional value, which she said was the cure to global warming and world hunger, and then revealed that she grows all her own food, stores water and uses solar power in her home. She then circled back to legalizing marijuana, and ending drug wars as a result, before making the big announcement.
Having publicly supported then-candidate Obama in 2008, it's quite the defection.
Will she appeal to environmentalists? TV nostalgics? With the election just over a year away, the sky's the limit for the...

Greg Cipes is an actor, voice actor, and musician, but right now he's living in a tent in Roseanne Barr's yard on 'Roseanne's Nuts' (Wed., 9Pm Et on Lifetime). While Barr seems to be mostly amused by his antics and out-there personality, the same can't be said for her son, Jake, and domestic partner, Johnny.
"Greg represents everything I hate about people," Jake said.
The two couldn't even describe him properly, instead stating that you have to see him for yourselves to understand him.

Will Roseanne Barr be the next celebrity to step into the ballroom on Dancing with the Stars? "I really wanna do that show," Barr, 58, tells xojane.com. "My hips are bad. I think I need a hip replacement. That's why I can't do that Dancing with the Stars s---." Although you won't catch Barr on DWTS anytime soon, you can watch her Lifetime reality show, Roseanne's Nuts, about her life on a macadamia nut and livestock farm in Hawaii. Roseanne Barr decided to embrace a bit more of the lifestyle of Hawaii on 'Roseanne's Nuts' (Wed., 9Pm Et on Lifetime). So she embarked on a new adventure, learning how to surf.
"What do you think of that, being old and surfing?" the 58-year old asked some of the guys who were there to help. When they told her "old" was all in her head, she retorted, "No, it's in my body, too. Trust me."
She learned a few basic moves and then she was ready to get into the water, but not before taking delight at her friend Greg's swim attire. "Look at your underwear," she laughed.

Anyone who was alive in 1990 remembers when Roseanne Barr sang 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at a Major League Baseball game. The rendition was horrible, she was out of tune, and then she wrapped by spitting and grabbing her crotch.
So it was with some nervousness that we watched her agree to tackle it again on 'Roseanne's Nuts' (Wed., 9Pm Et on Lifetime).
What happened, though, turned out to be a genuine suprise. Granted, this was for a Little League softball game, so we knew she would be on her best behavior, but we didn't expect her to be on-key.

For the first time in a while, Roseanne Barr has found herself on the tip of every smart so-and-so's tongue. She's blunt, surprisingly wise, hysterical and she's showing up in more and more places.
It was her essay in New York Magazine that seemed to put her back on the map. A chronicle of struggle, success, insanity and feminism, it re-focused eyes back on a talented woman with wise cracking mouth and a complete intolerance for subordination.
Now it seems she can do no wrong. Barr's new series, 'Roseanne's Nuts,' which debuted on 'Lifetime' last week, is raking in ratings and praise. The setting is different than we're used to, the Hawaii-based show has Barr managing 40 acres of macadamia nuts and a livestock farm, but her delightfully acrid personality remains.

On Anthony Weiner: "Representative -- the name Weiner, hilarious -- as soon as you're tweeting business, you got to go.

Roseanne Barr purchased a large macadamia nut farm on the big island of Hawaii to try her hand at nut farming in 2007 (a move which will be chronicled on her new Lifetime reality show, "Roseanne's Nuts"), but the former TV superstar says she has an ulterior motive when it comes to harvesting the tasty island treats: securing her spot in the great beyond.

Roseanne Barr returns to television tonight, giving Lifetime viewer's a special reality TV look into her life and her nut farm.
"Roseanne's Nuts" premiers tonight at 9 p.m. Edt, and is sure to be a little off the wall. After abandoning Los Angeles, the Emmy award-winning actress has left the mainland for Hawaii, where she's managing a 40-acre macadamia and livestock farm.
Barr returns to television after a long-time self-imposed hiatus from the small screen, with boyfriend Johnny and son Jake, for the show, which will consist of 16 half-hour episodes.
We think the show's title is going to be more than appropriate.
You can check out the preview of tonight's premier, here.
You can catch two sneak peeks, courtesy of Lifetime, below:...

Comedian Roseanne Barr, best known for her 1990s eponymous sitcom, is back on the small screen for Lifetime's new original docu-series called "Roseanne's Nuts," which will follow Roseanne and her longtime boyfriend Johnny Argent in Hawaii, where they manage a 40-acre macadamia nut and livestock farm.
Barr and Argent bought the farm in 2007 and from the looks of these sneak peek clips, they've got their farm running fairly smoothly. It might actually be an interesting show to watch and Roseanne is always good for brash, no-nonsense, sarcastic behavior.
"Roseanne's Nuts" premieres Wednesday, July 13 at 9 p.m. Et on Lifetime. Will you be tuning in?...

Where are we, as a general culture, when it comes to Roseanne? I can never quite figure that question out — obviously, creating and starring in Roseanne gets you a lot of credit. But then she did that Hitler photo shoot, which many people did not like. But then she wrote that really great piece in New York Magazine about her experiences with TV. For some none of this matters, because to them she is just too much. But I love people who are "too much," as long as I can keep a safe distance. So I'm excited for her foray into reality TV, Roseanne's Nuts, about her life on a macadamia farm in Hawaii. (Seriously.) Now Lifetime has released the first clips from the show, and it looks... it looks like Roseanne on a farm. Just picture that, whether you're a fan of the [...]...
