We all know the familiar tale of Ebenezer Scrooge from "A Christmas Carol" and how that story ends. However, sometimes an ending is just the place for an all-new beginning.. and this is where the untold twist in the life of Ebenezer Scrooge continues. The day after Christmas finds him suddenly much less merry, and much more unfortunately... dead. Reunited with his old partner Jacob Marley, a no longer quite so tiny Tim, and his beloved sister Fan; together they are tasked with earning their redemption by helping others to find their own. Their first adventure brings them to modern day Oklahoma to a young mother, her family, and a dream that has become a nightmare. Our foursome must work together like their souls depend on it... because they do. This holiday movie is not just another re-telling of "A Christmas Carol". Instead, it continues the story within the Ebenezer Scrooge Universe, diving deeper into the world-renowned characters we have all read about in the classic novel. This film will further explore the world of Scrooge focusing on family, redemption and forgiveness while literally being filled with "Christmas Spirit(s)". Ebenezer the Traveler is the first of many journeys for the Christmas Carol Ensemble.
The idea of this sounds intriguing, so I gave it a bash and was about 2 minutes in when I realised...I'd been had. The acting is some of the worst I've seen. The British accents were absolutely terrible. The dialogue was so fake and literary, delivered by people who clearly had no idea of what they were doing. I fast forwarded a little here and there to see if things were going to improve and it was an obvious and clear no. There was no redeeming factors to this film except some of the sets were ok, so I gave it a 2.

This film somehow keeps winning at film festivals. The cast even attends in costume with a red carpet. Since there was such pomp and circumstance surrounding the show, I streamed it and was terribly disappointed. First of all, the low quality wigs were very distracting, purgatory is the United States?, Ebenezer only died 7 years prior but his clothing is so out of date, they killed off a beloved child who we were all routing for to live, and then the storyline went nowhere and never wrapped up the plot regarding the main characters! Did Ebenezer ever remember his sister, Fan? What happened after they completed their task? We'll never know, and by the end of the movie, you no longer really care, but are just happy that it is over!
This movie is a complete misfire from start to finish. The story had potential, but the execution is an absolute mess. The acting is painfully amateurish, the dialogue feels clunky and forced, and the production values are laughably low. Every scene seems to drag on endlessly, making it a chore to sit through.
It's clear that more effort was spent trying to create a buzz than actually delivering a watchable film. The glowing reviews don't match the reality of what's on screen-don't let them fool you. Even as background noise, this is unbearable.
There's no redeeming quality to be found here. It's a tedious, poorly made experience that feels like a complete waste of time. Do yourself a favour and skip this one-you'll thank yourself later.
1 star is more than it deserves.

I'm not saying it's terrible for a zero budget movie but its not great - the flashback to some urchin on Christmas day stood on a tarmacked road/pavement and the pristine historic Yaphank sets gives some idea to the quality of the movie
The script is pretty terrible and the hammy actors.make it even worse.
With a modicum of digging you can quickly find the connection between the movie and the glowing reviews
Save yourself the effort and give this one a miss unless you're desperate for some background noise.
Just saying this to make up the extra characters needed so that I can submit a review.

An absolute turd of a movie, I love American movies, shows etc but they should not be doing scrooge in any format, casting horrible, acting even worse.. This was pure torture and a crime against dickens., they might just as well have used the cast from high school musical, if I had a choice of watching this or watching paint dry, the paint wins every single time, I could have sworn I lost a few iq points sitting through this pile of garbage... Dont do what I did, when you see this movie.. Walk on by, and keep walking, get a bus to the airport and then fly away to a Country where there's no WiFi and no chance of ever seeing it.

Ebenezer the Traveler was so bad that, in all my years of using this site, this is the first time I've ever taken the time to write a review. It was so unwatchable that I thought to myself "I NEED to save others from experiencing this abomination."This film is essentially the exact opposite of Dickens. Everything you've ever loved about the original Christmas Carol (or even any of the countless re-imaginings) is not only lacking from this thin attempt at a sequel, but the legacy of the predecessor(s) would be tarnished by simply having this story considered to be in the same universe. The movie looks like it was created by a middle school theater class and --if that's the case-- everyone who participated deserves to be held back. The dialogue is painful, the acting is awkward, the accents are laughable, the plot is... well, you get the point. There's honestly just nothing redeemable about this movie whatsoever. It tells you everything you need to know that the only positive reviews are coming from people who made the movie. No one else has anything good to say for a reason.
But don't take my word on it: Please please please watch the trailer before wasting 100 minutes of your life or a single penny on enduring this mess.

It wasn't exactly what I expected, but it was cute. The story was clever and I really enjoyed some of the new characters, especially Fan, who I think is really the star of the show. What she does to Scrooge's tea is tame compared to what I would have done, but I guess it is a family friendly film. Lol
Some parts really tugged at my heart strings, and some parts ticked me off, and some others I just laughed. And a couple I almost swooned. The guy from Sons of Anarchy whoever he is... oh my. Show me more. Lol
Anyway, this, a glass of wine, and my spot on the couch made for a pretty good after Christmas evening.

"Ebenezer The Traveler" is a unique film. The main character, Ebenezer pairs perfectly with everyone he encounters in his travels. This film is interesting, funny, uplifting and of course entertaining. It's a great addition to your Holiday favorites. There is much detail in the costumes and scenery. The locations are realistic and well chosen. The use of song was just the right touch and blended seamlessly into the story line. People of all ages will enjoy this lovely film. It should be a go to, especially for the Holidays. Ebenezer The Traveler is truly an example of a group project. It is obvious that much love, time and expertise went into making words on paper a reality. I highly recommend viewing/owning this film.

I wasn't sure what to really expect but I was pleasantly surprised. It looks as good, or better really, than anything on Hallmark or Lifetime, and it definitely had a much better story. Not the same cookie-cutter drivel.
This was a continuation of the original story of Ebenezer Scrooge and A Christmas Carol, which has been redone to death. Instead we get to see what comes next, and it was a little surprising.
There were some nice twists, some clever Easter Eggs to the book, and overall a fun little emotional roller-coaster that reminds us how important it is to keep the faith in ourselves. Without being preachy. If anything, this is how stories used to be. Entertaining first.
There's a great song and a pretty funny end scene that reveals one thing and suggests a whole other, which maybe we can look forward to.
Definitely give a recommendation. Only cropping off one star because you do have to forgive some of the accents.
Overall though, they tried and succeeded with this one.

We all know Scrooge is redeemed at the end of "A Christmas Carol". If you have ever wondered what happened after the final scene with Tiny Tim, this is your movie. It picks up where the movie left off and expands on the trials and tribulations of Ebenezer Scrooge with some surprise characters and new twists and turns. There is a plethora of emotions watching the continuation of the story. You'll laugh and cry and be surprised by the new and old characters as they navigate the new challenges in the new world of gadgets and technologies old and new. A family film that the entire family can enjoy.

First off, if you're looking for perfection, just stop doing that. Perfect doesn't exist. Story telling exists. Heart exists. People exist. And none of those are perfect.
The truth is though, this is a good little holiday film. It's not huge budget star padded studio offering by any means, but it definitely outpaces a lot of the Hallmark and Lifetime quality independent films.
There's a clever story here told in a sincere way, and that's the heart of it all. You're going to be taken somewhere new on the screen, and along the way in your own heart and mind.
Like I said, it's not perfect. There's shortcomings, particularly with accents and occasionally acting. Some almost get it and some just don't quite make it, but that's about any film, even with big name stars.
The technical side, the visuals and the sound, and the music, are very good for something outside of a studio production.
But the main thing this film has is a heart, and a message, that comes through without beating anyone over the head with it. You have an entertaining story that takes you along for the ride, and along the way maybe leaves a good feeling in your heart and some good thoughts in your head.
Some of these reviews I just don't understand on both sides of the spectrum. My feeling is that a lot of the 1 stars are just personal attacks, and a lot of the 10 stars are typical hype.
The truth lies somewhere between, on the upside of the middle. Personally, I'm giving it an 8. In a world full of knock offs and flashy empty shells made to just fill content, this isn't.
Probably not a holiday classic, but a good little holiday film.

This holiday movie surprised me beyond belief. It was exactly what the world needs right now... hope. I loved what this movie did in terms of not trying to ram things down our thoat. It is a simple movie about family, hope, redemption and doing the right thing. It was exactly what it was supposed to be. A clever take on a classic story. So many references pertining to the book. This may have went over the heads of casual viewers of the novel. If you read the book and comprehended the book you will see many connections in this story to the prior. Well done to everyone involved and hope to see more.

Despite what I have read in prior reviews, this movie reminds me a lot of the first Rocky, an extremely talented group of people using their own money to create a masterpiece in the best way possible. Rocky went on to produce four additional sequels this time with the help of others who saw the incredible potential in the storyline. The story behind Ebeneezer the traveler is a movie we all need. A story of those helping others who are less fortunate almost like Michael Landon in Highway to Heaven, I believe these actors and their writers have created a storyline with the potential of going down in history like many others before them. Although the production was not the same as a Tom Cruise movie I strongly believe that the storyline the actors and the theory that has gone into making this movie is one that has the potential of becoming one of the classics for our children and beyond.. best of luck to all of you who created this, and we wish you the best in all future productions.

I absolutely loved it. I A very heart warming story About Ebenezer scrooge and what happens after the original story ends. I don't want to say to much and spoil it for everyone. All I can say is grab your popcorn and sit back and enjoy it. Leaves you wanting more . I enjoyed the whole story line. This is Hallmark quality!!!! I know I will be watching it again and again. The actors were all wonderful. The storyline was fantastic. Please tell everyone to watch it. The movie will be a yearly tradition for me now. I been telling everyone you got to see this movie. You will not regret seeing it!!!!!

This movie is a breath of fresh air! I love the creative story line of what "happens next" to Ebenezer. From the opening scene to the very end, it kept my attention. We have heard so much about the classic Christmas carol, but this twist was amazing! It is written so cleverly and brings you along on a wonderful journey of "What if's". The settings, cast, costumes, and music are wonderful. I enjoyed the humor throughout. It was refreshing to see a modern-day film take a family friendly approach. Be prepared to laugh and also have several, "I did not see that coming" moments as you journey along with Ebenezer the Traveler!

I just watched Ebenezer The Traveler on AppleTV+
This is the first feature that is able to offer more about some of the characters after a Christmas Carol.
It's not a Christmas Carol, nor has it got any religious affiliation but it does bring up Scrooges new job of having helping people.
It is a fun movie and the songs are beautiful. It's such a departure from any of the originals that are done every which way till Sunday.
All in all Jerry Parisi as Scrooge and Amanda Rae Dodson as Fan his sister, give a truly great performance as does Michael Bertolini as Jacob Marley. Austen Shane as Tiny Tim, and Leland Prater, who is defined as a new character. Simon Onyx, Assistant Under Secretary of undead affairs.
It was nice ot see Lou Martini Jr., as Santa and Christopher Brian Roach as well as Ellen Boscov and Sean McNabb. All successful actors in their own right.
A truly fun movie and recommend it.

We have here a very different Christmas story about Ebenezer Scrooge after his death or I should say his murder into a strange type of catholic religious redemption adventure. One should know by reading any bible that redemption only comes through true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, but this is definitely not the "true" way, but one using the old beliefs of purgatory and the working out ones sins by deeds, taken directly from Dante's purgatory and paradise myths. It's not a terrible story, but it is very wrong as far as what one must do to be saved, anyway, The acting is quite good and feels a lot like a sitcom style of filming, the characters are fun as well, we have Ebenezer Scrooge played by Jerry Parisi, "Fan" Scrooge's sister from when he was young played by Amanda Rae Dodson, Marley played by Michael Bertolini, and an older Tiny Tim played by Austen Shane. This is a totally new story so do not compare it with Dicken's work. It stands alone with only reference to that story as the past. Lots of fun situations and mild humor as Scrooge helps a young girl make the right choice. Nothing questionable, no nudity or foul language whatsoever. A good film for the whole family as long as you explain that you don't get to heaven by your good works alone, only through Jesus (john 14;6) Enjoy!!
Great twist on what happens after A Christmas Carol. Story, performances and music were fantastic. I read they had a small budget for this but it looks better than most Hallmark movies. I love that the soundtrack is also available. The song got stuck in my head and the soundtrack is perfect for the holiday season. The cast is huge, especially for an independent film and the costumes and sets were very impressive. This is one I could easily watch again. They left it open in the end for more stories. Looking forward to see what comes next for the Ebenezer gang. I highly recommend giving it a watch and see how it moves you.

One of the things I wanted for Christmas this year was more family time, and we did that by watching a lot of Christmas movies so far. Each night we pick something. Last night I picked this one because I'd seen the trailer. At first my brother griped, but he always does. By the end though all of us, my mom, dad, brother, and me were glad that we did. Sometimes it was sad because I saw my mom wiping her eyes, and a lot of times it was funny, especially to my dad I guess. And we all loved the song. My mom even played it again after it ended for my grandma on the phone. Oh, and speaking of the end, I'm not sure what the guy in the top hat's name is, or what he's going to do, but he's kind of scary. Especially when he laughs. We all really liked it and hopefully there will be another one.

I recently watched this movie and truly appreciated the new twist on 'what could have happened next' - there is definitely an audience for this - and there was certainly room for speculation about what path old Ebenezer may have taken once he found his humility.
That being said, the path that this movie suggests is a very interesting one - and not what you'd expect! I loved the characters - some familiar, and some new. A lot of love and passion was put into this production, and it comes across in their adaptation of this heartwarming and humorous storyline.
Well done! And without giving too much away... it's possible we may see a sequel in Ebenezer's future travels 😊

I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas film. I watched it with the family and everyone had a good time. But the thing I took away from it the most was the song at the end of the movie. "How I Missed You Christmas" is a beautiful Christmas song. I should say it's my favorite new Christmas song. This should be plaing on every Christmas station. Let's all agree we should get rid iof the Mariah Carey song and replace it with this. Well that's it, I'm not much on reviews so that's that. Back to singing...

I htought this was going to be another Christmas Carol ripoff. Then I realized it was a continuations. I never thought about what happened to Scrooge after the end of the movie. I guess I never even wondered. This was a clever concept and something fresh in my opinion. So because I was pleasantly surprised I took a likimng to this movie. I loved the actress who played Fan. And I have to say the girl Angel in the red dress in the end... wah wah wah!!! Angel indeed! What beautiful scenics throughout the film as well.
Locations were great.. I think it was shot here in the US. Audio quality was good as well.

I have been a fan of the Scrooge story since I was a kid. I watched all of the different renditions growing up. Muppets being my favorite followed closely by Jim Carey's version. This was definitely different from everything else we have seen. I started off hesitant about it but it kept me involved. I kept wanting to see what would happend next. Before I knew it the movie was ending and I still want to know what happens. Production value was more than I anticipated. Soundtrack was better than most big budget films I have seen as of late. I believe this is definitely considered lo budget, but it didn't feel that way. I could only imagine what this movie would have been with a ten million dollar budget. Maybe we will see that one day.
