    Genuinely creeped me out

Keeps you on the edge of your seat constantly. The Mister Creep character was original and well done. The atmosphere stays ominous and spooky throughout. I found myself covering my eyes and peeping through my fingers during a few scenes.

The acting is good without being over-the-top-annoying as is the case with many horror films.

I've seen nearly all of this director's films. I enjoy them because they seem made by a horror fan, for horror fans, as I saw someone else put it. Mister Creep is, without a doubt, his best offering yet. I'd definitely rewatch it.

If you enjoyed movies like Horror In The High Desert 1 & 2, you may enjoy this one also. (The vibe of Mister Creep reminded me somewhat of Horror In The High Desert 2.)

An incredibly solid if flawed found-footage effort

While researching a missing person's case, a group of student filmmakers stumble across an urban legend involving a mysterious figure known as Mister Creep and begin investigating the story, leading them into a deadly conspiracy with a supernatural figure that will put them all at risk.

Overall, this was a pretty enjoyable if somewhat flawed effort. When it works best is the engrossing setup that manages to provide this one with the kind of small-town lore that would believably set these events in motion. The early portion here focuses on the team's means of finding work in the film industry and trying to keep a job going in that regard leads to the decision to switch over to the missing person's case and eventually turns into the early setup of the figure haunting the area. Getting the brief bits we do about his psychological make-up with the clown mask, the mysterious nature of his summoning ritual with the static-filled TV signal, and the interrogation video that sheds a lot of light on the personality of the figure quite nicely. As well, the episodic nature of how this is presented allows the film to ramp up the intensity and scares as it goes along feels rather nice. The visit to the police station he was reportedly kept at that results in their friend going missing while the eerie visit to the sympathetic writer offers the kind of startling scares that go hand-in-hand with the type of psychological torment featured here. The finale on the abandoned farm is the best part with the killers' appearance at various spots throughout the location serving up some decent jump-scares and providing some genuinely chilling scenes when a series of double-crosses are revealed that bring about a gruesome finish to it all. These manage to give it some likable features as there isn't much wrong with this one but it does have some minor issues. The biggest drawback to the film is the film's reliance on the abundance of cliches familiar within the found-footage genre. With the characters hurtling themselves into obviously dangerous territory with nothing for protection, a proclivity to film stuff that has no business being recorded due to the safety of human life at stake, and believing that splitting up is a good idea among a seemingly endless list of other features, it finds itself running on the familiar and unlikable ground rather easily making it relatively easy to miss a lot of the positive factors when you're complaining about it trotting out the usual irritating tropes. The other drawback to this one concerns several other blunders made in the filmmaking presentation that belie its found-footage origins almost as much as its storyline drawbacks. Despite it presenting the various chapters rather organically throughout here, these would not be present if the footage was genuinely found and offered as such since that would require post-production editing to insert into the running time. As well, the interrogation scenes that are shown here give us clues to his personality and mindset feel completely at odds with what's going on as the scenes are taken from the actual police cameras rather than a more logical viewing solution like being watched on TV so it also hinders the illusion quite a bit. These factors are what hold this down.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language and Violence.

This Movie "Thinks" Police Stations Leave Everything Behind.

The Trailer Is The ONLY Way To Watch This Movie, and Let YOUR Imagination Complete It. Then, It Won't Be Written By a Moron. LOL!

Pretty Much EVERY Event In This Movie Is Based On Police Leaving ALL The Evidence and Files Behind, When a Station Closes.

Does That Let You Know How WELL WRITTEN This Movie Was, By An Intelligent Human Being?

And Like ALL Found Footage Movies, We Are FORCED To Listen To The DUMBEST Women Willing To Never Stop Talking and Constantly Ask Questions a 5 Year Old Knows The Answers To. LOL!

And Finally. Mister Creep Looks The Way He Does, Because a Clown Mask Was Melted To His Face? AND He Got Married and Had Kids, WHILE Looking Like This?

Quality, Intelligent Writer's and Filmmaker's Are a Thing Of The Past. This Movie, Like EVERYTHING Now, Is Obviously Made By The Average Person, Who Was Raised On Movies and TV, NEVER Actually Living and Gaining Common Sense Or Knowledge.

Ignorant, Unrealistic Crap Is NOW All We Get. Like This.

    Meh

So the movie started off okay it was very similar to the movie grave encounters. So I thought okay let's see where this goes. But then immediately it started to fall apart.

The character Val, so it's to become this sniveling character who can barely speak sentences. Makes one of the most questionable moves by herself and then starts to cry barely able to talk. I actually started rooting against her you just so I wouldn't have to hear her doing the Blair witch cry.

The other girl character Beth she's also equally as annoying but in a different way. And at the end once again starts acting like the other female character and just babbling and not making any good decisions.

But as far as bad movies go it's okay so overall meh.

A found footage film that works

Found footage is a very hit and miss sub-genre. The best films it has produced are absolutely incredible and are as pure horror as you can possibly get. When they get them wrong though they can be incredibly dull and unfulfilling. You're always taking a bit of a risk when you choose one to watch. 'Mister Creep' I'm pleased to say was a well made found footage horror film.

The film knows what it is. It's only just over an hour, so it has to get in, get pretty quickly to the point and do its thing. It does just that. There are a couple of truly brilliant jump scares in this movie that got me good. They were extremely well disguised for one thing. If you have that friend who always likes to predict when a jump-scare is coming, they're not going to see these ones coming. And they are leap out of your seat moments.

The movie also does a great job of finding creepy settings for each scene. Old abandoned police stations and random houses in the middle of the woods work so well. And it feels like it is always night time when they are in these places which amplifies the eeriness.

I had a good time with this film. It held my attention and was pretty damn creepy for the duration of the run time. 7.5/10.
