The Undefeated (2011)

Review by ernie-vogel

The Undefeated

10/10

Spellbinding account of Sarah Palin's rise in politics

The reason I use the word "spellbinding" is due to the rapt attention paid to the movie by fellow theater-goers. I've seen both the rough-cut and theatrical versions and both capture one's attention equally well. The style of the movie is quite fast-paced and moves quickly from subject to subject. The film is divided into 3 acts. The 1st act covers Sarah's initial entrance into local politics as Mayor of Wasilla. The 2nd describes her tenure and legislative record as Governor. The 3rd act covers the period of time from her being named John McCain's running mate through recent appearances at Tea Party events held across the country.

It is an excellent chronicle of her record and goes a very long way toward debunking the misinformation and outright lies that have been written and said about both Sarah and her family after she was picked as the VP candidate.

The movie is a phenomenal contribution that opens minds to the deliberate debasement of a successful, conservative candidate. It should arm theater-goers with a new skepticism toward ongoing media memes that undermine the substance and record of ALL conservative candidates.

I highly recommend the movie. If nothing else, it demonstrates the ability of one individual to make a huge difference through government service, despite circumstances and obstacles that might seem to suggest otherwise.
