Warning: spoilers ahead for Doctor Who's 2023 Christmas special, "The Church on Ruby Road."
Doctor Who's Christmas Special features Davina McCall making a cameo appearance as herself. McCall's fictional death in Doctor Who is not her first, as she also died in the TV show Dead Set, creating an unexpected trend for the presenter. If you had a dollar every time Davina McCall died while playing herself in a fictional TV show, you'd have two dollars, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Doctor Who's Christmas Special has created a celebrity death pattern that no viewer would have had on their 2023 bingo card. While not hugely surprising given the episode's title, Doctor Who's "The Church on Ruby Road" makes a big deal out of why the Doctor's new companion was left at a church on Ruby Road. The mystery of Ruby's mother will...

The character Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson, embarks on an adventure against Goblins after being swept up in the Doctor Who seasonal special. The mystery of her parentage becomes a major discussion in Doctor Who season 14.
Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies explains how he developed the new companion Ruby Sunday's (Millie Gibson) backstory. The 2023 seasonal special "The Church on Ruby Sunday" saw Gibson debut as a young girl in search of her true parentage who is suddenly swept up in an adventure against Goblins. Ruby Sunday will join Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor in 2024's Doctor Who season 14 as well as the currently filming season 15, which is set to air in 2025.

Warning: this Doctor Who review contains spoilers.
It’s the beginning, but the moment has been prepared for. The three recent Anniversary specials have eased us into another new era of Doctor Who more gently than we’re used to – yes, this is Ncuti Gatwa’s first time taking centre stage as the Fifteenth Doctor, but we’re at least a little familiar with him thanks to his bi-generational appearance in “The Giggle”. We’ve also already done the Tardis tour, gotten used to the new title sequence, peeked at the latest sonic…
This is a Christmas present we’ve been well and truly allowed to shake ahead of time, in other words. This is most likely deliberate on Russell T. Davies’ part; in The Writer’s Tale, he discusses the different approach to making festive TV – when the entire family are likely to be in the room, stuffed and sleepy,...

English television presenter and host Davina McCall is reportedly making an appearance in Doctor Who's Christmas special this year, which means viewers can now definitely kiss Rose Tyler's surprise cameo goodbye.
2023 is a big year for Doctor Who as this is when the longest-running sci-fi series celebrates its 60th year on air. To commemorate the occasion, the BBC has already started releasing the Doom's Day multi-platform series, featuring Sooz Kempner in the titular role. The 60th-anniversary specials, starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, are coming in November, and there is so much more planned! However, Dec. 2023 will mark the start of Ncuti Gatwa's era as the Fifteenth Doctor with a traditional Christmas special, and McCall seems to be the latest casting addition (via The Sun).

It was back in June of last year that we learned HBO Max had pulled the plug on the Ridley Scott-produced sci-fi series “Raised by Wolves,” cancelling the show after just two seasons. Warner Bros Discovery has finally nailed down plans to go the Fast route. Last year — in between an intense bout of cancellations and titles being pulled from their streaming home on HBO Max — the company announced plans to explore a free ad-supported television option (Fast). During the company's third-quarter earnings call, Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav made a point of saying that there's "a huge amount of content that's not even on [HBO Max/Discovery+] that's sitting with us that hasn't been put to monetize in the marketplace." In the spirit of cashing in, a new plan has been enacted. Over the next few months, 14 Warner Bros. branded Fast channels will arrive on Roku and Tubi.
Have you been longing to return to the days of cable television, with free TV shows being regularly interrupted by ads? Don't bother answering, because it's happening either way! The new Warner Bros Fast channels will feature popular titles including "Westworld,...
