I am not really a Nigerian movie buff but Blood Sister has given hope that the Nigerian movie industry can excel internationally just like the Nigerian music is doing. Yes. I have issues with the casting. How can Kate Henshaw who looks younger than her age play a mother role and Gabriel Afolayan plays her son? Also, an assassin with a gun and dagger was ruthlessly beaten by a dude in agbada attire? Come on!! The biggest win is the directing and cinematography which are out of this world. I will give it a 7 which I considered generous.

Blood sisters is a beautiful well put together film that manages to kill so many birds all at once. It manages to deliver top notch acting from some of Nigeria's finest, clean cinematography, roller coaster drama and gritty violence while also showcasing the beauty of Nigerian culture and scenery. Definitely a great step in the right direction for Nollywood.

Yes one thing I could say about the series was that it had top notch acting. However, it also had potentially good story line that was sadly choked with unnecessary additives. One thing the movie failed to do was preach 'originality', too much attempts were made to copy Hollywood and at times it was overbearing.
Then the fiction was poorly executed; The part where the money was on fire but the mat wasn't(at makoko) was quite ridiculous. And how did Uncle B sustain injuries to his trunk when the suit wasn't burnt?
The positives I can take was the extent to which the acting was executed and the director's wonder execution. Shout out to the prop and make up team. Script writer? Well, was not bad but could have done better. In conclusion, it's a great watch but definitely not the best watch. KOB is clear!

I saw my office building in the movie 😁😁😁😁😁
Love the beautiful marriage scene and settings at the slumps of Makoko, truly African.
Spot on depiction of The Nigerian Polyce, very efficient given the right amount of encouragement. Also, the things girls/ladies and parents would endure because of financial security and wealth.
I will give it an 8 Star 🌟 rating given its Nollywood's.
But...
If one were to judge/rate this movie with the lens of Hollywood, it would be too predictable and sleepy 😴. A 4 Star 🌟 rating given the abundant representation 😉.
An average excellent mediocrity performance 👏 worthy of 6 Stars👍🏻

This is a great series that tells the African story in the most detailed way with actors that brought their best.
The cinematography, costume, dialogue, plot and acting is a beauty that is best seen than talked about.
There is an upward movement in quality, delivery, style and class in the series and it is certainly going to be a benchmark for multiple film and TV productions that will occur in the Nigerian movie industry.
Highly recommended.

Finally, after serving us a bunch of bad movies with great posters (kudos to graphic designers) Blood sisters is a breathe of fresh air,
Though there could have been more intrigue and suspense as it was a crime drama, it still shows that Nollywood is moving in the right direcction.
The only issue there for me was Kate Henshaw, her acting was absymal to say the least.
Stand out was Nancy, she did an impeccable job.
THough some scenes didnt stick the landing, the movie was still good, and it is something i would recommend.
This movie shows that they still may be hope for nollywood afterall.

Storyline so weak from episode one to four.... the only I repeat good thing about the series is the camera and show of affluent and the negative part of the Nigeria society. If Mo Amodu had employed the patronage of critics before doing the final editing they could have product a beautiful and believable story to promote the beauty of Nigeria and not continual telling of how backward our society is...... am so disappointed at the level of creativity at her disposal her movies shows money but lack proper content.
I see people giving this movie a low rating for the weirdest reasons. Ramsey Nouahs role, the car he drove, minor plot holes. Really? We're just going to ignore the beautiful cinematography, the wonderful acting, the believable characters, the suspense, the actual effort put into making this? This series could very easily have been a movie. It was good and not just for "Nigerian standards" (whatever that means) Kate Henshaw, Ramsey Nouah, everyone handled their roles with grace. This was a beautiful production and I love how it ended. If we continue like this we may one day have a movie that truly competes internationally. This is a solid 6/10. But I'll gave it a 10/10 to balance out the unfair ratings.
There were some problems with the movie but overall it was a great watch. And it's really refreshing to see our actors showcase their talent. We've always suffered from horrible scripts/directing. This movie is a BIG step in the right direction. I love it! Season two? Nah.....More stories like this? Yes please!!!!

I see this movie as a good drama as it depicts the picture of our most women fall victim to home abuse just because they want to please there parents or because of money, but my problem with the movie is that when acting a serial killer, a professional killer won't just come to a wedding scene without any disguise and just frowning the face, that look alone scares people and raise suspicion, that for me was my first red flag,

Tried hard to watch this, but it is absolutely terrible.
The outline is OK, but the dialogue is awful and stilted and many of the actors struggle delivering it. Much of what occurs in episode one lacks any semblance of credibility.
It made my eyes bleed to watch and is definitely not worth investing more time to endure further suffering.

Most movie and television viewers in America are soo used to the trivial, Hollywood agenda driven fare that they automatically dismiss productions that are not made in Hollywood. Blood Sisters is just as good if not better than most of the crap made in "Hollywood".
The story is well written. Its full of nuance. It has attention to detail. The on location filmin is superb. The acting is superb. The music is superb. Sure, its not perfect and you can see some flaws but if you can believe John Wick can survice 80 fights and 100 cars crashing into him and he still wins at the end, then you can ignore the minor flaws here. Its a must watch production out of Nigeria.

If you're a fan of crime thriller movies, this movie might slightly interest you. Slightly because they'll be no moment that'll keep you on the edge of your seat-and a couple of scenes are cringeworthy. The plot is infuriatingly weak considering the stellar cast and great acting on display.
There's lots of positive with this series though and you're bound to still appreciate some moments in it. Big kudos to the production cast as the cinematography is one of the best I've seen in recent Nollywood productions.

I think it was great that they made four episodes for the span of this show.
What I liked: I loved how I was tense at every given second of watching this show. The music added to the suspense so it definitely had that thriller feel to it.
I love the premise of the show and though I have never watched the originial blood sisters nollywood movie, I liked this one.
Overall, I am glad I gave it a try.
What could have been better: I personally do think that though it is obviously an African movie, it was a bit westernized. In terms of some of the 'American' accents that were used that I found unnecessary.
The cursing was unneeded because I have met people who curse a lot but don't just incorporate it that unnecessarily into their sentences.
The sec scenes were too much and unnecessary for me. At some point I got annoyed.
The acting was good but there were some moments were I thought it could have been a bit better.
There some plot holes and the ending does not give a clear explanation as to what the end result is what I found quite disappointing.
I do feel that if you watch this show and use your brain, there will be some question marks popping up every here and then. So it's best not too think too much.
But because of the solid suspense, good premise, reasonable-good acting, I ended up giving this show 6 because I had no difficulties watching it. I literally binge watched it in two days.

Weak Storyline, script is awful. A detective wearing a small hat 👒 with a toothpick in his mouth is so cliche. Feels like you are watching a bad 1970s police drama 🤔.
It was so awful it becomes brilliant.

It's refreshingly different from the normal Nollywood flick.
The unpredictability of the storyline, the engaging dialogues and the character interpretation of the cast was superb.
I enjoyed every bit.
Although it took a minute to sink into the story, eventually, it caught on.
The cinematography was well done. The scene introduction and sound too.
For a local movie it's use of mother toungue where suitable, is well blended for international audience.
Lastly, I so love the subtlety of stars given minor role,s like cameos. That was interesting, lol. Toyin, Bayo (Hustle), Mama Joke Silvia, etc. I loved the pleasant surprise of their appearance.
All I can is, it's a far far improvement from the norm. Simple as that. The bar is set, hope it's maintained.

Starting from the idiotic assassin who was acting as if he was there to fight a professional wrestling championship, to the idea that the groom would be so calm after surviving a hit that he would retain on him the gun he dispossessed the assassin of, the movie was just stupid. The only thing for it was that the cinematics were quite good. Story was foolish, acting was ok, ending was asinine. But do also waste your data and time watching it. What a silly movie!

This show was horrible. The plot, the sound, makeup, wigs, wardrobe absolutely horrible. I couldn't recommend this to my enemies. It's sad 'cause I grew up watching nollywood films, hope they get it together.

Unbelievable. I do not know what's worse. The plot, the lack of good taste, the lack of logic. Nails, wigs and grotesque dresses. It appears that Nigeria's ruling class has a total lack of common sense. And to complete a half ending. As I said, horror show.

I thought the cinematography was beautiful, I find the movie colorful and full of life. The chemistry between kemi and Sarah as best friends was unbelievably good!, nice pacing in the movie as well..looks more organized in terms of setting up each scenes. It's a brilliant movies and a win for nollywood and africa in general.

This movie is by far one of the best Nollywood x Netflix screen plays. For those of us who are AUTHENTICALLY Nigerian, it is an ode to our youth, the acting style, the story line speaks to the cultural differences. A must watch if you ask me.
