A Plague Tale: Requiem is more than a game. It's an art. Almost everything in the game is perfect. The story in particular is very emotional and the ending is the most impressive and saddest ending in game history. It has an ending that leaves the player depressed and crying like a baby. The bond between Amica and Hugo is reflected very strongly. It was pretty emotional in the first game, but Requiem set the bar even higher. The main character Amicia, was very well written and a very enjoyable character to play. The gameplay is more advanced than the first game, A Plague Tale: Innocence, and contains a lot of innovations. New weapons, such as knive and crossbow. There are more action scenes and the alchemy menu is more understandable and useful. The music of the game is as good as the first game, or even better. Olivier Deriviere has done a great job again. Also, Amicia and Hugo's voiceovers were amazing. In particular, Amicia's voice-over officially lived the story, and when she cried, I cried, too, when she suffered, I suffered, she conveyed that emotion to the player very well. It was very unfair that Charlotte Mcburney didn't win the best performance award at the 2022 game awards. If you like story games, do yourself a favor and play this great game.

I bought Innocence last year and completed it, but i felt wanting for more. And this year lo and behold the sequel released. Much like in the tomb raider trilogy reboot, you can feel Amicia's innocence (because she's not a battle-hardened warrior), in the weapons she has at her disposal - a sling- much like Lara in the 1st part of the tomb raider trilogy, but in the sequel, again, much like Lara, Amicia toughenes up, in the sense that she's more aware of what she's up against, she has a more powerful arsenal at her disposal, compared to the first game. The game portrays to the user the best way it can thanks to its developers and the sheer amount of research that went into making it, the 14th century grim atmosphere brought on by the 100-year war (not literally 100 years but that is what it is, shall i say, known for).
Mind you Amicia's 2nd adventure is not about the 100-year war - though it is set in the midst of it- it's a fictionalized one, where rats take center stage, again, only this time their numbers are much greater. If the 1st game had a mere 5000 of them, the sequel has 60x that much. I've been a gamer since 1998, but this is the only game that i have ever played where at some point i found myself shedding a tear for the main character and her companions, this is how intense the atmosphere in the game becomes as the story progresses, couple that with the musical score, especially at the main menu.
In some ways Amicia is a lot like Lara, and there are some similarities between the games, except for the rats. I feel there's no need to elaborate on them, you have to play the games in order to understand. I admit i got this sequel by means of utorrent, but it impressed me so much, much more than the first one, that i feel the developers deserve my hard-earned cash and i am going to buy it. If the sales are great, then a 3rd sequel may be in the works at some point because the game definitely leaves room for a third installment, which i am looking forward to.
This game along with the score is so emotionally charged, i hope it wins game of the year award. It's the best game i have played since valhalla back in 2020. Innocence is a good game too only requiem improves on its predecessor and it shows in the graphics, Amicia's weapons and her determination (which in Requiem is a lot stronger than in Innocence) to kill whatever stands in her way. The idea behind this franchise has lots of potential and promises a lot in terms of storyline.
One more thing, is it me or some pieces of the score slightly resemble the score from Joan of Arc video game made back in 2004 i think ?
All i can say is if you like this game, enjoy Amicia's 2nd highly-charged emotional adventure through the dark, grim, medieval 14th century France, once again.

This one is so much better than the previous game, the story is more interesting and their are a lot of new mechanics in the game like the crossbow and the new kind of alchemical slings. The game is so beautiful , I didn't except it from a plague game. There are many many rats more than in the previous. This game is more emotional, and their are so much deads. When I played it feel like this is not a game this is real bc of the dialogues and the atmosphere. The game is a little bit challenging but if you're played stealth games before its not a problem. I glad I have got game pass and I glad I could play this game.

I can't recommend this game enough. The graphics were perfect; I have an RTX 3080, and I was able to run the game on the max settings in 4k. Sometimes the frame rate would drop to 50fps, but I was getting a consistent 57+ fps. The story really sold me on the game. I don't usually like stealth/puzzle games, but with such a good story, this might be my favorite game of all time. The few complaints I've seen about the game mostly pertain to lower end graphics cards not being able to run the game at 60fps. The menu has a lot of options for graphics quality, so you can prioritize fps vs resolution if need be. 11/10!
This is the game that made me love again video games after 10 years without playing. The story is incredible and the writers understand exactly what is family and the sacrifices that comes with it. I don't know if the tv show will be as good as the game because it would only replicate this tale with probably different actors and couldn't match the game visually. Charlotte McBurney and Logan Hannan did a fantastic job playing Amicia and Hugo and because of them, you really feel their characters live and be real humans with their strengths and weaknesses. They are not perfect. And because of all that, This a masterpiece. Sad but so beautiful and strong. This is art. Ty Asobo Studio.
