Frigga's alternate death in a deleted scene of Thor: The Dark World would've complicated Hela's introduction in Thor: Ragnarok. Odin's decision for pacifism over his wife's safety would've altered Thor and Loki's relationship with their father and affected Hela's story. The decision to keep the alternate death scene out of The Dark World was ultimately best for the Thor franchise, simplifying consequences and making Hela a more effective villain.

A deleted scene from Thor: The Dark World almost altered the trajectory of the MCU series. The Dark World notably features the death of Frigga - Queen of Asgard and Thor and Lokis mother - in the MCU timeline. After Thor brought Jane to Asgard to protect her from the powers of the Aether inside of her, Frigga defended her against the Dark Elves. However, Frigga died protecting Jane as neither Thor nor Odin could get to them in time.

3D Realms unveiled a whack of new titles at their Realms Deep 2023 showcase over the weekend, as well as offering up updates for previously-announced games. The release of Magic: The Gathering’s next set, Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, is the first brand crossover for Magic. Unlike Mythic Odysseys of Theros and The Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica, Adventures in the Forgotten Realms marks the first time D&d is coming to the gameplay world of Magic: The Gathering.

This crossover was bound to happen! Magic and Dungeons & Dragons share many of the same characteristics. Both let you play the way you want and be creative, and have lore that reflects fantasy stories from all the over the world and dragons, lots of dragons.

So with Adventures in the Forgotten Realms coming to Magic: The Gathering soon, what D&d elements will we see make the leap to a collectible card game? And what Magic elements will incorporate D&d lore? Let’s take a look.

It's been 27 years since John Travola and Bruce Willis starred in Pulp Fiction, and it was the last time the pair appeared together in a movie. Now it seems they are about to share screen time together for the first time in almost three decades in the action movie Paradise City, which kicks off production this week in Hawaii.

In the Chuck Russell directed movie, Willis plays Ryan Swan, a bounty hunter making his way through the roughest streets in a hail of bullets on the trail of a kingpin of the Hawaiian crime world, played by John Travolta. Magic: The Gathering has started rolling out a new set, and along with new cards and mechanics coming in Zendikar Rising, they also laid out their plans for 2021. In those plans: an official in-game crossover with Dungeons and Dragons.

Magic’s story bounces across multiple “planes” – worlds of the multiverse with different themes, stories, characters and in-game mechanics. The four releases scheduled for 2021 are winter’s Kaldheim, a viking themed set; spring’s Strixhaven, a set built around an elite multiversal university; Adventures in the Forgotten Realms coming out in the Summer; and a dual set focusing on the werewolves and vampires of Innistrad in fall of 2021.

Additionally, details on Zendikar Rising started to hit. The set, which releases on September 17th, returns to the wild plane full of shifting and living lands, and as such, it brings some familiar game mechanics back around that idea.

“Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” director Joe Johnston is in negotiations to helm Disney’s upcoming reboot of the film franchise, “Shrunk,” with Josh Gad in talks to star.

Gad pitched the story idea to Disney earlier this year, and the studio jumped on board the idea of reviving the classic 1989 pic starring Rick Moranis. “Shrunk” will mark the third sequel following the original film, with “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid” and direct-to-video “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves” bowing in 1992 and 1997, respectively. Johnston was not involved with either film.

The studio met with other directors but felt bringing Johnston back was a perfect fit for all involved. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing through their Mandeville Films and Television banner, with Todd Rosenberg penning the script.

In the past couple years, Warner Bros has caved to the Marvel trend and begun including bonus scenes during and after the credits of a lot of its movies based on DC Comics. These things tend to exist to tease future movies in a franchise, and that’s exactly what DC is doing with them as Geoff Johns and co. try to rebuild the DC Extended Universe after the “Justice League” disaster. And the latest film in that filmic universe, “Shazam,” definitely has an eye toward the future of the Dceu.

Exclusive: Rising Asian actor Mike Angelo has joined veteran action director Renny Harlin’s heist pic The Misfits. Pierce Brosnan is starring in the project that starts principal photography in Abu Dhabi on February 18. Hermione Corfield and Jamie Chung are also in the cast.

Penned by Robert Henny, The Misfits centers on renowned criminal Richard Pace (Brosnan) who finds himself caught up in an elaborate gold heist that promises to have far reaching implications on his life and the lives of countless others. Angelo is playing Wick in the film which will be produced by Kia Jam and Dean Altit (Realms).

Multi-hyphenate Angelo, who is of Thai and Chinese descent, rose to fame as part of the Thai pop duo Golf & Mike before segueing to television. His credits include Asian series Delicious Destiny, Mr Swimmer and My Amazing Boyfriend.

By every measure, 2018 was an extraordinary year for movies. Every so often, there's an off year, and pundits begin to claim that audiences are losing their interest in the theatrical experience. Then something like 2018 comes along, delivering hit after hit after hit, and suddenly those same pundits are proven wrong. The biggest blockbuster of the year was Black Panther, which grossed $700 million domestically, according to Box Office Mojo.
