Casey Wilson was set to play the role of Becky but dropped out for scheduling issues. She was replaced by Rebel Wilson (no relation).
Both Rebel Wilson and Isla Fisher are native Australians; however, both use American accents in this film.

Originally produced as a stage play, which had its world premiere at New York's Second Stage Theatre in 2010. The original cast included Tracee Chimo as Regan, Carmen M. Herlihy as Becky, Katherine Waterston as Gena, Celia Keenan-Bolger as Katie, Fran Kranz as Joe and Eddie Kaye Thomas as Jeff.
