If you were not a fan of the original series, you must feel extremely boring about this movie. And as aBIG fan of the original series, I only survived because of the handsome actors and beautiful actresses. Without the professional background of a pilot, the film became a hodgepodge of clichéd love stories and a precursor to various commercials. It had completely deviated from the track of the original drama version of "Triumph in the Skies" and had become a nondescript love saliva. One star for the beautiful music, one star for the wonderful views, and one star for the actors and actresses.
I watched half of Triumph in the Skies II, which had drawn me in before, so I had some interest in this movie. Being a "TVB" production, you'd expect some quality from it. Well, all the actors are there, but there wasn't a movie...
This film is a series of shorts about 3 + 2 couples. That is to say it revolves around 3 couples and there are 2 extras that are briefly shown at different points during the film and some how ended up also getting an ending. It's a bunch of short, disjointed scenes which briefly showed how 3 couples met up, a few romance scenes, 1 problem for each couple, and a resolution. The best way to describe it is 3 short stories and 2 one shots that they cut up and pieced together. They did a REALLY good job of condensing these stories into just a few scenes, but the rapid pace gave no time to have any emotional attachment to any of them. Stories are about the journey, and there was no journey. All of these stories could probably have been fleshed out and turned into 2 better, separate movies.

Oh it was a TV show? Well that explains a few things. Or maybe not, but the movie seemed rich in certain aspects. And no I have not seen the TV show, but enough other shows and movies to get a sense of the characters and of course the direction the movie was taking.
Not for everyone obviously, but if you like light drama with at least decent acting, than you could do worse. There is something to be said about pilots and how they are attractive to some and I guess same goes with the stewardess job. Other than that there is not much more, but it isn't really need either
