Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk became the definitive one for the MCU due to the actor’s incredible performance as Dr. Bruce Banner. The actor replaced Edward Norton after the Fight Club star was found to have meddled too much with the film that Marvel wanted to make in The Incredible Hulk. Starting with The Avengers, Ruffalo has been a franchise regular.

However, since the 2012 film, the character of Banner, as well as the CGI, has gone down in quality. Many have criticized the comedic treatment of the green rage monster in films like Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame, while the Hulk’s CGI in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Endgame has been considered to be a massive downgrade.
Fans Remember Mark Ruffalo’s Superior Hulk CGI In The Avengers
The Hulk has always been a tough character to crack in live-action.

Horror anthologies are all the rage, with both up-and-coming and established filmmakers contributing to works like the extensive ABCs of Death films, and the found footage V/H/S trilogy. Now comes Southbound, a new collection featuring horror shorts directed by V/H/S alums Roxanne Benjamin, David Bruckner (The Signal), and Radio Silence, as well as Patrick Horvath (Entrance). A trailer and clip of the film’s seven-minute opener were just released, providing a peek at the terror to come.
First, the clip serves as a promising cold opener, dropping the viewer right in the middle of the action as two men in a classic pickup are pursued by dark, spectral beings – and then things start to get weird. While the footage recalls, to some degree, Twilight Zone: The Movie, details have painted Southbound as a twist on the disconnected style of previous anthology films. In an interview,...

Filmmaking brothers Chris and Paul Weitz have come onboard the English-language remake of the 2011 Japanese horror tale "Birthright" which All Nippon Entertainment Works and Depth of Field will develop.
The story revolves around a young woman, invited to stay with a suburban family, who may be the abandoned daughter of the mother. When the visitor's secrets are revealed all hell breaks loose.
The Naoki Hashimoto-directed original won a special jury prize at the 2011 Shanghai festival. Dan Balgoyen along with "Entrance" co-directors Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath are co-writing the script.

Making a sequel to even a hit independent horror film can be a daunting task. It might not hold quite as much accountability as coming up with the next entry in the X-Men or Batman franchises, but still a nerve-wracking charge nonetheless. It’s a challenge Co-Directors Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath embraced when asked to helm the follow-up to Nicholas McCarthy’s supernatural thriller The Pact.
The Pact was a sleeper hit for Director / Writer Nicholas McCarthy who worked the film festival circuit and successfully secured theatrical and home entertainment distribution through heavy-hitters like IFC Films, E One Entertainment, and 20th Century Fox. Reviews for the movie were mainly positive not only through major horror outlets like Shockya.com and Horror.com, but mainstream ones such as the Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, and Village Voice. When thinking of recent horror movie sequels garnering minimal demand, The Pact II could be one of the most prominent examples. I don’t care much for Nicholas McCarthy’s original 2012 haunter, a film that only made waves throughout hardcore genre communities, but such an under-the-radar lifespan didn’t stop a sequel from being greenlit – without the involvement of Nicholas McCarthy himself. Placed in the hands of co-directors Dallas Richard Hallam (Entrance) and Patrick Horvath (Die-ner), the Judas Killer lives once again in The Pact II, a direct sequel that strikes an impressively similar tone to McCarthy’s chilling signature style. My problems with the first film never complained about scares, though, only convoluted storytelling more focused on atmosphere than comprehension. Do Hallam and Horvath learn from McCarthy’s weaker notes? Yes and no – but we’ll get to that shortly.

When The Pact dropped two years ago, it quietly snuck onto the scene and surprised everyone with how smartly written and genuinely creepy it was. It seems that with losing its connection with writer-director Nicholas McCarthy (who has gone on to direct this year's At the Devil's Door), The Pact 2pulls some punches and just can’t get the scares that the first one delivered.
The sequel, written and directed by Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath (the duo who directed Entrance), tells the story of June and her boyfriend Daniel. Both are involved with law enforcement, Daniel is a beat cop who works nights and June cleans up crime scenes.

The film stars Camilla Luddington, Patrick Fischler, Scott Michael Foster, Haley Hudson and Mark Steger. Entrance‘s Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath directed this entry.
The Pact 2 is set just weeks after Annie Barlow’s deadly confrontation with the Judas Killer. In this sequel, we meet June, a woman whose carefully constructed life is beginning to unravel due to lucid nightmares so awful they disturb her waking life.

I hear a lot of casual horror fans talking about the lack of quality horror films in recent years... and to some extent they have a point. Studio-funded horror films seem to be less prevalent than they were three decades ago, and many mass-marketed horror films are lighter on gore, nudity, and the like than the features of yesteryear (with the obvious exception of the Evil Dead reboot). But there are still plenty of quality horror films being made – it’s just incumbent upon horror fans to look a little harder. There are a plethora of well-made horror pictures being released every year; they just aren’t all getting the mainstream attention that they deserve. In an attempt to remedy that, and shine the spotlight on some outstanding films that haven’t received a great deal of publicity, we are showcasing five titles from the past five years that may have passed you by,...

The actress is set to play the role of June Abbott in 'The Pact II', an L.A. woman tormented by a string of violent dreams in which people are slaughtered by a killer named Judas. Things only get worse when she starts to see the murders from the killer's P.O.V. Check out the full plot breakdown below....

Chicago – There are a great many talented people involved in the over-hyped, underdeveloped horror anthology, “V/H/S.” It’s a sad sight to see so many gifted filmmakers assembled for a project so misguided. What could’ve been a launching pad for several exciting careers ends up being a mildly diverting curiosity well worth taping over.
Brad Miska’s concept of a “Creepshow”-style amalgam of found footage shorts is certainly promising in theory, but he falters in the execution. At an interminable running time of 116 minutes, the concept outstays its welcome several times over. Miska’s interview in the disc’s plentiful special features indicate that he wasn’t shrewd enough to cut the segments down to sharpen the pacing, while cutting others altogether.
Blu-ray Rating: 2.0/5.0
The wraparound vignette, “Tape 56,” was shot before any of the shorts had been planned, and its disjointed presence in the film is a conspicuous distraction.

Chicago – The irony of Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath’s immensely unsettling little shocker, “Entrance,” is that it has caused many viewers to exit before the end credits have rolled. A surprising number of critics have complained that the film betrays its audience by setting up a low-key indie drama and then turning the tables in the final act. Clearly, these people weren’t paying attention.
The entire film is constructed like a mounting nightmare, as it follows a troubled everywoman, Suzy (Suziey Block), through her banal daily routine in La. There’s no doubt that Los Angeles can be a magical city, but for most of its denizens it’s little more than the urban sprawl they call home. In that regard it’s not very different from any other city, but there remains certain expectations in L.A. that something better is just around the corner. Something unexpected will appear if you give it just one more day. It’s unclear what Suziey (Suziey Block) expected from her L.A. adventure, but whatever dream she once had is long gone. Her days now are little more than exercises in monotony. Wake up, get dressed, feed the dog, walk to her job as a coffee shop barista and then return home for sleep before she does it all over again the next day. Title: Entrance Directors: Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath Starring: Suziey Block, Karen Gorham, Karen Baird, Joshua Grote, Florence Hartigan, Bennett Jones Co-directed by Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath, “Entrance” is a deliberately paced indie offering that bills itself as a psychological thriller but in actuality is a fairly aimless tone piece about twentysomething emotional dislocation that only in its final reel leaps somewhat clumsily into genre-oriented skirmish and combat. As a showcase for narrative restraint and a non-forced lead performance by newcomer Suziey Block, the movie works on a theoretical level, but its grip is a bit too slack and its payoff too pointless to really recommend it. Entrance Written and Directed by: Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath Starring: Suziey Block, Karen Baird and Farley Burge Although Entrance is being marketed as a horror film, it is actually a hybrid of character study and horror. I’m not going to lie; the first 2/3 of the movie is an exceptionally sluggish slow burn. I actually picked up the screening notes twice and reread them, because I thought I had been sent the wrong film. There’s nary a scare to be found, although the film does effectively build a foreboding sense of paranoia. At the conclusion of the film, I understood why the first part of the film works. Think back to Ti West’s The House of the Devil. That film literally creeps up on you by slowly unraveling, all the while lulling the viewer into complacency. The result is a climax that seems a little more...

“Entrance is a riveting new psychological thriller from newcomers Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath, exploring the thin line between anxiety and naked horror in the life of Suzy (Suziey Block), a young woman in Los Angeles who can’t get comfortable in her own skin. A loner who wallows in nostalgia and finds herself wandering aimlessly through life in the city, she can’t shake the gnawing suspicion that a true menace grows just outside her field of vision. Later this week, IFC Midnight is releasing Entrance, a film by Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath, a tricky little indie that comes with a metric ton of thrills and chills, wrapped up in a very surprising package. Our own Cole Abaius posted its goose bump-inducing trailer last week, and if it’s been haunting your dreams and you happen to live in La, we’ve got a surprise for you! We’re giving away two tickets to see Entrance at the Downtown Independent theater this Friday, May 18th at 8Pm. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with directors Hallam and Horvath, as moderated by filmmaker Ti West. Having seen the film at last year’s Laff (and weirdly enough, having seen it at the Downtown), I can vouch for its ability to lure audiences in, lull them gently, before nailing their guts and minds to the back wall of the theater. It...

In the mid to late 90′s I watched quite a few films about growing up, being different, having the price $6.66 show up everywhere and being a girlie in a “man’s world” breaking out of the traditional mold society likes to poor us into. While Entrance is not exactly a film about growing up, being on the youth fringe and trying to find yourself in a world wholly alien… it actually is just about those exact subjects; it’s about questioning reality as it happens to you and what you let it do to you. I’m not sure that you’ll find it an experience that will assist you on your inner, personal journey if you’re young and lost, but it might help you to avoid one of the classic youth blunders: assuming that your the crazy one and the world ain’t out to get you. “Just because you’re paranoid,...

Just as Jaws scared you out of the ocean and The Blair Witch Project scared you out of camping, Entrance just might tap into your inner fears about those odd sounds around the house at night and after viewing this, you might just find yourself asking, “Did I lock the back door? What’s that rustling outside?”
Writer/Director Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath’s Entrance is a small psychological horror/drama film about a young woman named Suziey (Suziey Block) who fell out of love with the glamorous city but will soon find out that it’s about to let her go.
However, just as Suziey is feeling alienated from city life, so might some viewers feel with Suziey’s mundane routine of getting up, feeding the dog, going to work, coming home, going to sleep, getting up in the morning and doing it all over again.

From the files of "this is why we watch the entire movie," we have the micro-budgeted and seemingly aimless Entrance, which (if you're not patient) may seem like one of the driest and most uneventful horror flicks you've seen in a while. If, however, you're willing to focus on the little details and simply surrender to the filmmakers' sparse little character study, you'll be rewarded with a rather shocking third act that makes a lot of the waiting worthwhile. Co-written and directed by Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath, Entrance is a no-frills piece about a young woman named Suzie, and how she slowly falls out of love with big city living. Stuck in a go-nowhere job and saddled with a redundant...

It’s rare that you don’t want to “spoil” a trailer. That sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? Spoiling the very thing that so often spoils the movie itself? But this new trailer for Entrance earns a little reverence. It’s sharp, smart horror shot with a sort of modern casualness that takes practice, and the selling point is a monologue. Not flashy effects or gross-out gore. Just a simple, breathy bit of words leading to the true nature of the speaker’s dangerous intent. This is a goosebump factory. Check it out for yourself: The film from writer/directors Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath, is out in limited theaters on May 18th and VOD on the very same date.

The reviews for this one have been fairly positive, though I can’t get past how much walking and crying there is in the trailer. And while I shouldn’t judge a film based on a 90 second online video, I just can’t shake the feeling that this was lensed after watching lots of Gus Van Sant movies. For some, that might be a good thing. However, if you felt you wasted your time watching “Gerry” and “Elephant”, then the preview for “Entrance” might be less than impressive. Just a heads up. Here’s an informative synopsis for you to chew on: Entrance is a riveting new psychological thriller from newcomers Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath, exploring the thin line between anxiety and naked horror in the life of Suzy (Suziey Block), a young woman in Los Angeles who can’t get comfortable in her own skin.
