It can be said that it is a well-made emotional anime, maybe at first glance, it seems like a fantasy to some people, but with more accuracy, somehow the director depicted the experience of forming a deep romantic relationship drop by drop based on the needs of both parties with a gentle slant on the other hand, concepts such as attention to others, the need for love in everyone, selflessness, love, loneliness, decency and hard work are emphasized by the director, and you can see the great impact of each and every small action of people on the life path of others.

If you are looking for a sweet and enjoyable experience without major concerns, I recommend it to you, it's a pure slice-of-life anime.

After finishing "The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten", I felt kind of spoiled in regards to how GREAT the build up to this story culminated towards the final episode.

First off, the unique animation set itself apart by illustrating subtle, but abstract character design against seemingly simple settings, whether in school or back at the apartment complex; the latter, especially, seems to pose as the core setting for a majority of the heart-to-heart interactions between our 2 main characters, Mahiru Shiina and Amane Fujimiya.

Alongside these two, we also have Itsuki Akasawa and Chitose Shirakawa, who also strongly encourage and push the two together, regardless of how strikingly distinct their personalities are (at FIRST).

In addition, Itsuki and Chitose also present a prime example of how a couple mingles and stays together, no matter the trials, as they also had some hurdles to jump over when the spotlight presents their story in a new light. Rarely do I get to see side characters have their stories put out there the way Itsuki and Chitose's relationship did, and, I must say that I'm pleased to see that these two are incorporated and add just as much to the overall story as people who we can relate to when witnessing the exposition of how The Angel spoils Amane rotten!

Furthermore, the music also really uplifts the anime where it needs to; such instances would include the opening and the ending themes. In the opening, there's an upbeat, vibrant rhythm that sort of wakes up the viewer in anticipation for the next episode, while the ending concludes the current episode on a subtle, but lighthearted note. Not to mention having visuals to emphasize the intention of how the music is utilized.

Overall, I really need to express, once more, at how impressive the "Exposition" of this story turned out; You'll know what I mean once you watch this through. From the steady build up of the main relationship in general to the various doubts and internal struggles each character has along the way, the flow in which this anime creates seems to blend fluently within the not-so-surprising runtime of 12 episodes.

I would LOVE to see a more though, as it seems things are only just beginning as our two MCs get more and more closer through to the end. In my opinion, it would make sense to continue onto the next chapter to further elevate to, for example, how Clannad extended their anime to narrate their MCs, Tomoya and Nagisa's relationship beyond school and later in life. Though, "The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten" doesn't necessarily need to go beyond school as Mahiru and Amane are still 1st-years in high school, providing plenty of time to really express their ever flourishing relationship into a couple we all saw coming before they graduate. Plus, there's also the other characters to notice as Itsuki and Chitose can provide even more support and advice for Mahiru and Amane to consider and utilize as they grow closer together alongside a mature, but friendly Yuuta Kadowaka. And let's not forget, of course, the helicopter-like parents of Amane, Shinto and Shihoko Fujimiya.

In conclusion, I want to see more of what this anime can offer beyond this terrific first season. Because I may as well say that this show itself teased my expectations and spoiled ME rotten!!!

This series offers many wholesome romantic and cute moments for the audience to enjoy. The protagonists have very similar personalities, but they differ in their backgrounds, values, behavior, and outlook on life. As they get to know each other, they learn more about each other's backgrounds, and as each character starts revealing more and more about themselves through their actions, speech, as well as the characters around them, they come to like each other more. I feel like this series, unlike many other's within this genre moves a bit slower, which depending on the viewer can be a positive or negative thing. In this series, you get to see how their relationship slowly plays out, from a point where they really have no chemistry, and get to see what specific events that allowed the characters to get closer and closer, eventually revealing to the audience what traits made each character find interest in the other. Overall, it was a series that I found overall wholesome with many romantic and cute moments, and it is in my opinion, one of the better anime series released this season.

Can't wait for the second season.

Enjoying to watch all the characters in the story. Hopefully 2nd season will expand more bout other characters but at the same time show the lovely progress between Amane & Mahiru.

Amane lives alone in an apartment, and the most beautiful girl in school, Mahiru, lives just next door. They have almost never spoken despite being in the same class-until the day he sees her in distress on a rainy day and lends her his umbrella. To return the favor, she offers him help around the house, and a relationship slowly begins to blossom as the distance between them closes.

Yeah, yeah, the initial setup is total nonsense, I understand, I agree, boys' wet dream, isn't it. However, when it comes to execution somehow the show finds the way. Because the male lead is not a childish idiot (looking at Kazuha from Rent a Girlfriend), the story is about Mahiru's and Amane's relationship not about a bunch of other characters (Rascal's Bunny Girl Sempai) and both of them are able to lead a proper conversation for more than just a few minutes and one does not wonder why these two are together at all (Horimiya). They even have friends coming over, who are a pair, not a group of other girls, and altogether lots of realistic events happen with them as they slowly but steadily get closer and closer to each other. It's a slice of life anime. (Luckily, there are not too many school scenes and I haven't seen a Student Council President. Chitose and Itsuki are a nice couple with a mature relationship, I was surprised about them.)

There is a relaxing tranquility coming from this show. The characters are not extreme (okay, Mahiru's character is a bit unrealistic as said in the beginning), maybe they are a little bit dull according to anime standards, but as a result, there is no constant, made up drama, nobody is screaming and whining through episodes, the male lead has a brain and actually uses it, he is capable of making decisons and communicating those straight (whoa! Ok, not with a Hachiman level of vocabulary), or express his emotions in words (double whoa! "Do you wanna me to make a move on you?" That's all folks), nobody, and especially not the girls, is put into humiliating situations, there are no nasty jokes, fan service, nobody is bleeding through their nose.

Chill, peace and love, a love story in soft water painting. Really likeable if you are not looking for the adrenaline. (Mahiru would look better as a traditional Japanese girl, considering her behavior, just my 5 yens. Makes me remember Aoi from Ai Yori Aoshi... they are a bit flat, true, somehow it didn't make me bored. She turns out to be more than what she shows in the beginning, which makes she cool at the end. I loved her smug face.)

This anime was a great watch. The romance is innocent and subtle and slowly builds up to something you'll find yourself invested in. Both protagonists are strong characters with individually strong personalities and it's quite the journey seeing how both characters intertwine throughout the episodes. Not only that but the side characters also have equally strong parts to play as well.

The ending was very heartwarming and has me extremely excited for the recently announced season 2. There's a bunch of questions left unanswered so I'm excited to see the story continue.

If you're looking for a love story to indulge in, this is it.

I have read Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsunomanika Dame Ningen ni Sareteita by author Saeki-san. Ken, also known as The Next Door Angel, spoils me rotten. The well-groomed tale of the common lad and the beloved Angel girl, as well as the flawless, well-received light novel that has elicited a range of reactions, are what make Hanekoto's illustrations so captivating. All I can say about this is that the anime is carried by everything else except for the production, even if Project No. 9's adaptation here seems to be on the very rough side of things, from cut content to the appalling animation.

The LN "A Heavenly Encounter!" by Yen Press features a typical, clumsy male MC named Amane Fujimiya who has a failed life with his parents. Nevertheless, Mahiru Shiina, the school's Angel, changes his life. A blossoming friendship between the common person and the Angel takes place in their houses when Shiina, a stunning and untouchable girl, protects the Angel.

Mahiru Shiina, an Angel, is a stunning, independent woman who meticulously monitors her health. However, Amane, who is deprived of his life's existence, frequently spoils her. Mahiru's relationship with her parents has made her possessive on the inside, despite her attractive exterior. However, because of his awkward relationship with his parents, especially his mother Shihoko, Amane is sensitive and aware of his surroundings. Their relationship is anticipated to develop into a reliance and endearing love kinks as a result of this, making it more of a necessity than a want.

A side pairing-like classmates Itsuki Akasawa and Chitose Shirakawa, who stand by Amane and Mahiru-is necessary for a relationship to succeed. No matter what people say but this is the masterpiece of shoujo anime, although seems like a fantasy but isn't every anime is for that? We watch animes to see that fantasy which we can't see in real life, and this anime completely satisfied me. Of course not the best among shoujo manga buy still best among any anime adaptation.

I have read several mangas with even better story and development but they are not yet adapted into anime which makes this stood out among all of them. For example 'fujiyama san wa shishunki' is a great manga without the anime adaptation and there are much many with similar potential but for now this is my favorite romance anime.

It was good until the end, the last episode really spoils it. There's not much buildup either, just abruptly ends and ruins it with bad pacing. I would rate it higher but there are so many better high school romance animes, like Toradora or Horimiya. And the writing is not that good either, and it has a lot of weak episodes (1,2,3,7,12). But i will give it props for having consistent development in the short run time that it has, unlike Toradora. It just doesn't have good payoff and left me feeling so unfulfilled. I expected a nice speech at the end by the MC too, but that was disappointing as well.

I'm sorry, men, but the sooner you break the fantasy that a 1-dimensional stereotypically perfect girl will come to be your mother/maid/girlfriend, the sooner you will grow up.

Male fantasy fuel anime like The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten perpetuates a sense of entitlement and can lead to feelings of bitterness and resentment towards ordinary women. It is not helpful or healthy for men to think that women will spoil them. Men need to focus on developing healthy relationships with other people, not on being spoiled by them and setting unrealistic expectations.

The Angel Next Door presents only two characters with identifiable traits: a generic male protagonist named Amane, and Mahiru, a girl similar to Tsukasa from Tonikawa Over the Moon for You. For no good reason, she becomes protective of Amane, but his name does not matter since he is an avatar for the audience. He is so devoid of traits that anyone with a similar fantasy can project onto him. Sometimes, monotonous characters lacking personality can develop and become more fleshed out. As of the third episode, there has yet to be character growth.

Even for those who find this sort of escapism appealing, there's nothing that elevates this above its contemporaries. For a production of this middling caliber, it's no shock there's not much animation, and the background art lacks detail. You'll recognize the generic character designs if you've watched studio Project No. 9's other tv series, such as HigeHiro and Tomozaki-kun. Excluding Inukai-san's Dog, this has the laziest opening and ending visuals I've seen all season. The songs are fine-generic-but the visuals are simply reused footage, panning shots of Mahiru, and slideshow animation.

For anyone who's seen this premise done before, you'll know the generic male fantasy makes for a pretty dull story. All the steps are predictable; Mahiru takes care of Amane in every episode, then they develop feelings for each other. It tries to be simpler than most unbelievable fantasies, which may give the impression that it's classier-there's no comedy, melodrama, or fan service. It's like unsalted chips: Flavorless junk food entertainment.

This is the best anime webseries of my life.how much I love this anime I can't explain from first ep to last(i.e ep12) I don't feel bore while watching this anime and Ep 12 is too much good than other episodes wow I love it. I am waiting for second season.in comparison to alya sometimes hides her feeling,my dress up darling or hormiya and couple of cookas this is the best anime among all romantic webseries.

We need fighting also when someone tease hero girlfriend and he will gonna bit for her. That also required on this story but but but in last ep 12 wow my heart is wandering when heroine takes his hand and starting running in the battle field and win the race wow I love it.

I am living in India I love so much this anime I liked it so much that I have watched it 10 times in Hindi dubbed and I watch it with my friends. I wish that the angle in this anime should move so that 1000 plus episodes of the next episode are released, my fu. This is full support in this anime but there is some good and bad in it, the good thing is that in it the story of Mahiru and Amane has been slowly shown and both of them were not shown to be poor, like more than a married couple but not We are couples but lovers, it is better than committing a lakh crimes, both of them know their own feelings.

(10+) If you ever root for the underdog, then you will love this series! The most popular girl in the school falls for the most unpopular boy - and it actually makes sense! The slow progression of their relationship supplies the believability factor, and the two main characters are extremely likeable. Also, this is a very "clean" anime with little to no fan service - which is a breath of fresh air! I wouldn't rate this an absolute "must watch" but it is HIGHLY enjoyable!

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten

After a long time, I finally managed to finish this anime in one day (09/03/25). It offers itself as a romantic-comedy; the story closes off with a high-school setting. Amane and Mahiru start off as strangers but eventually become friends and develop bonds.

One note about this anime: it is 100% clean. There are no scenes involving sex or nudity, gore or violence, swearing or profanity, alcohol, drugs, or smoking. Nor are there frightening or intense scenes. It's pure sweet romance-the warm and cozy kind.

There are not that many characters in this anime. Apart from our main leads, we also get to see Chitose and Itsuki (who are the protagonist's pals), and a couple of side characters.

By the end, the heroine is portrayed as an "angel," and we all know why. And, come to think about it, we men need this kind of angel in our lives too!😅 I guess it has some faults, but this romantic story made me enjoy it a lot, so it's a 10/10 from me.

Omg, I'm OBSESSED with this anime!!! Opening & ending songs are my JAM - so catchy! Amane's awkwardness is relatable af & Mahiru's sweetness is wow. Their moments together are pure magic. That hug scene at the end tho?! I shipped them so hard! Supporting cast is lovable & quirky. Animation's bright & cheerful, like a ray of sunshine. 10/10, must-watch! Can't wait for season 2!! (I heard it's in production by next year) Perfect blend of humor & heartwarming vibes. Mahiru's smile is everything.

Totally recommend for a feel-good watch! Amane & Mahiru's bond is goals. Binge-watched the whole season in one sitting, no regrets!
